About the property

3 bedroom 2.5 bath, Kitchen, Dining area and Living Room w/ large fireplace.

Experience country living near the historic town of Templeton, exactly half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. This is the heart of the central coast wine country. The Lupine Ranch consists of over 300 private acres of oak covered rolling hills - which guests can use for long hikes and relaxed picnics.

The Main House at Lupine Ranch is situated in the center of the property in a grove of oaks, very private and secluded. This house has two master suites each with its own full bath and king size bed. It also has a private loft with a queen bed which functions nicely as a third bedroom. There is a half bath at the bottom of the stairs from the loft. The house has a full kitchen, a dinning area with a table that seats six but can fit more, and a living room with large comfortable couches and a big, wood burning, fireplace.

Outside the house has lawns and gardens, front and back, perfect for afternoon lounging under the shade trees or a glass of wine while enjoying the beautiful sunsets… and the views abound.

Area activities include wine tasting at any of the nearby world-class wineries, bicycling the backcountry roads, or golf at any of the areas challenging courses. Visit one of the area’s renowned farmer's markets full of fresh local produce, meats, and breads or drive to the coastal towns of Cambria or Morro Bay. Hearst Castle is only about 40 miles away. Activities such as wine tours, kayaking and horseback riding can be arranged through local companies.

The Central Coast wine country offers activities year round. Summer turns the hills golden brown and brings outdoor concerts and the California Mid-State Fair. Grape harvest marks the fall when local wineries buzz with activity. Winter rains make for cozy weekends. In spring the hills turn green and the wildflowers are fantastic. ??Whenever you decide to come, we will help make your stay one to remember.

For additional housing options at Lupine Ranch please see the Wine Country Guest House at Lupine Ranch, VRBO #178617, for a more economical venue. Both houses at Lupine Ranch are available together for larger groups, family reunions, or company retreats. Please inquire with owner.

Perfect Wedding Party Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Our large family loved being able to enjoy this perfect hideaway while being close to our niece's wedding nearby.

We were able to use both the main house and the 2-bedroom guest house. Will was always available for anything

needed during our stay. We just wish that California wasn't having such a drought because the vast acreage was

dry. The lawn around the main house was kept watered so the horses and other critters seemed to like to hang out there also. Beautiful! Very comfortable!

Great weekend for birthday

  • 5 of 5

The house was everything we wanted it to be! Very spacious, nice bed - good appliances and great area to talk and spend time together. It was secluded and at the same time close to the wineries. The host was gracious, very user friendly and want out of his way to welcome us. We would recommend this home to anyone wanting to get away for a quiet but wonderful weekend in Templeton. By the way, the sunsets were beautiful!!!

The owner was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The house is great--was perfect for our large family with small kids. Away from noise and neighbors--a quiet, relaxing place. Was great to sit outside and enjoy the views.

Spacious and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 adults enjoyed a great day of wine tasting and relaxing evenings at Lupine ranch. Plenty of room for 6 adults to "spread out", as well as a large table for meals and game night! Great outdoor areas and a well equipped kitchen. Seclusion but nearby resturants and stores. Our host could not have been more accommodating. FYI no TV. Hope to return soon.

Family get-together

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful weekend with our family. We drove north from the Los Angeles area and the rest of the family drove south from the bay area. Very private and comfortable yet close to everything. The views were beautiful. It was hassle-free and hope to return soon.

Restful and Rejuvenating

  • 5 of 5

This was a girlfriend’s long weekend and we nine thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We brought all the food to cook for four days and were pleased to have all the tools and dishes needed. This is a well stocked kitchen. The house is especially comfortable and the views spectacular. Ah, the sunsets are amazing. It was an extremely hot weekend but the house stayed cool and the morning walks around the property were uplifting. The owner welcomed us and was friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed tastings at the winery down the street and the nearby olive oil farm. The gals are all looking forward to coming back.
