Come relax at REELaxation, a pet friendly, newly remodeled beach house in the heart of Kill Devil Hills, NC. The house is located right on the 8 milepost and only 800 feet to the beach access, making REELaxation a perfect place to vacation with family and friends.

The 4 bedroom 3 bath house sleeps 10 comfortably. REELaxation features a divided floor plan with a full bath and Queen Bedroom downstairs adjacent to the newly renovated rec room. Enjoy the amenities such as a custom wet bar, gaming systems, and poker/bumper pool table, which make for a great area for a family get together. Upstairs has a large covered porch, newly remodeled great room, full hall bath, Queen Master Bedroom with full bath, Queen Bedroom, and Bunk-bed room. All new furniture and bedding complete this great beach home.

We are two brothers who spent our summers relaxing on the beaches of Kill Devil Hills. The families are growing and learning to love the beach as much as we do. We would love for you to spend some time at our beach house and fall in love with the Outer Banks as much as we have.

Why Bryan Moseley chose Northern Coast & Outer Banks

We spent our summers two blocks North on Raleigh Avenue at our grandparents' cottage. My brother and I were driving around one day and saw this house for sale. Two months later it was ours. The location is perfect for our family. At milepost 8, it is centrally located to everywhere up and down the beach.

What makes this house unique

Our house is located between the highways, only a short walk or ride to the beach access at the end of the street. The access offers parking, showers, and restroom facilities. Wake early for the sunrise or watch the sunset behind the Wright Brothers National Memorial.

Great location!

We had a great time and really enjoyed our week. The public beach access is in easy walking distance and also has plenty of parking. The owners are great and very helpful. I loved that the washer and dryer was upstairs. The only negative was it was a bit dirty and needed a more thorough cleaning between renters.

Great location but very dirty :(

We just returned from our week long vacation at the REELaxation cottage. The cottage is conveniently located by the beach and shops. The owner is responsive to emails and did send out a family member when we expressed some needs. The cottage, however, was not properly cleaned or made ready for renters. The lights, television, and DVD player were not working in the den, the pots and pans were so filthy that they were unusable and we had to hand wash the dishes in the cabinets because they were sticky and dirty. The pillows were stained and one of the comforters was covered with hair. When I wiped something off of the laminate floors the paper towel came up black, showing the floors had not been cleaned very well. We tried to clean the place, but that was difficult because there was no broom and the vacuum was clogged. We ended up emailing about some of these issues and a family member came out with a new DVD player and lightbulbs, and she went out and bought a cord that was needed for the television. When we showed her the state of the pots and pans she went out and bought us new ones. She was very nice and helpful.

In the amenities section it lists a pool table but there is no pool table. In order for this cottage to be worth the cost, a new cleaning staff should be hired that does a more thorough cleaning of the cottage. The owners need to replace much of the dishware in the cottage and fix the broken dishwasher. There are other cottages with comparable rates that are kept in much better condition so I would recommend looking at other places before settling on this one.

Off season stay

the owner was very prompt and communicative. Enjoyed our stay here. Clean, convenient bottle openers everywhere, perfect fenced yard for our dog.

Could have been better

House could have been cleaner.The carpets were stained and looked dirty.The XBOX did not have any controllers.The dining room table was too large for the space and could not easily use the entire table . The kitchen was small for 9 people. The furniture on the porch had been chewed up and was uncomfortable. The fenced in backyard would not hold a small dog because of the gaps in the fence.Nowhere to eat ouside like a picnic table. The pluses new gas grilled after we called the owner because there was not one as advertised. The beach access was nice.There plenty of parking.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the response. These are all great tips and information to have, With the busy rental schedule, it is possible that some of these things get away from us. We will make the necessary adjustments for future renters. As far as the layout and furniture is concerned, the cottage is nice - but I won't call it the Ritz. Who knows, it may be a good idea for us to hire an interior decorator.. I like the idea for a picnic table, I will look into adding one this off-season! **For future renters, we are happy to comply with your needs, if there are any issues (stained carpet, dog chewed furniture, etc.) please let us know as soon as possible, so we can make your stay more enjoyable. If you require a smaller kitchen table, please let us know ahead of time, we may not be able to comply the week of your stay :) ... We try our best to meet the needs of our renters.. Just as there was an issue with a missing gas grill - what the reviewer doesn't mention, is that I had a new gas grill delivered to him 30 minutes after he called. That's what you can expect when you stay at REELaxation.

We came back to the OBX to visit some friends. This home was recommended because we wanted to bring our two dogs. The owners were happy to accommodate our pet request and quickly helped us book the home. We arrived and all was ready to go. The home was clean, had good size bedrooms and even a Keurig (we had brought ours). Suffice to say, we're not beach people but the walk to the beach was 5 minutes at most. We spent most of our time relaxing on the front porch which was in the shade all day except for the early morning. The porch has a gate at the top which kept the dogs from running down the steps and the backyard is fenced. The location is central to a lot of things to do as far as restaurants, piers and of course, the Wright Brother's National Memorial is right across the main road. For a quiet, relaxing, chill-on-the-porch-while-drinking-a-tall-cold-adult-beverage, you can't go wrong with REELaxtion. We had fun and look to come back again.
