Wonderful 3 Day Stay
We had a great three days and would highly recommend staying here it is perfectly located
Ernest and Carole have A lovely little out of the way, 2 bedroom cottage, very clean!
Thank you Ernest! The cottage was perfect for us. Two couples shared it comfortably. Although the sofa was an extra bed I wouldn't put more than 4 people, because the livingroom/kitchen was one room. Very clean. No microwave. Had a bbq, picnic table and a little deck that gets full sun 😃 I was worried about No internet. But I really didn't miss it even though I brought my iPad! Ernest was friendly and accommodating. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Thank you for your kind review of our cottage, and we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us on PEI. You are welcome to stay with us on your next trip. Ernest and Carol
Peaceful, friendly base for discovering PEI
This was our first visit to PEI (and indeed to Canada). We were made very welcome and everything thing was just as we expected from the descriptions and photos here. The owners are friendly and accommodating but not at all intrusive. The location is great for touring this part of the island. Thanks to Ernest and Carol!
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay, and would be happy to host you again in the future.
Adequate at best. Kind of stuck in the middle of a field with no views at all.
The property has no access to, or even view of, the river. Furnishings are quite basic. Owners live adjacent to the rental and are friendly enough. Sort of silly to be on an island and not have any water in sight.
We are sorry that our cottage did not meet your expectations, but wish you had told us of any concerns so we could have improved your stay. Your mother also visited with us and stated that she really enjoyed her stay and that she might come back with her husband. All the posted pictures are accurate and show the cottage in a quiete field setting for optimal privacy while being 10 minutes to all the best PEI can offer. If you just walked down the driveway, you would have seen the shoreline and river frontage (as pictured) with picnic table. A quick knock on the door, and we could have addressed your concerns and given you ideas to see the Islands splendor. There are several partial water views from the top of the property, but depend on tree growth and we will do some more pruning to improve for future guests. There are great valley, farm, and colorful rolling hill views directly from our cottage. We also included passes to the Cavenish beach park, and there are miles of picturesque views of the New London bay, rivers, inlets, fields, and valleys on the country road leading to our cottage. All of our other guests have greatly enjoyed their stay with us as they wanted the peaceful setting, and we are sad to read your comments. The furnishings are simple, as pictured in our ad, and all the pictures are accurate with captions, plus we added a new sofa sleeper and include a ful kitchen for cooking. PEI is known for being a very large island with diverse topography, kind hospitality, great public beaches, and a place to relax and get away. It sounds like you expected a much smaller island, but we hope you are able to return one day, and enjoy all the wonders that the island can offer within a short drive.
Will not recommend
It was difficult to find the property as there was a little sign at the entrance to the driveway that was hard to detect. It would've been impossible to see it in the dark. We were told upon arrival that the TV didn't work - I especially looked for properties that had TV as I have a 7 year old - so was disappointed to find this out. I could not unpack my clothes and put them in the drawer of the bedroom on the right side because there was an overwhelming odor of mouse urine and there were mouse droppings. I realized once I arrived there that I would have to go through the owners property to get to the water. There's no view of the water from the cottage. The owner decided to have a worker change out the porch light which he was still working on when we arrived back to the cottage after I day out. The deck is rickety and not well kept. The furniture is old inside and out. The cost was reasonable but not worth it for what we got.
We are really sad that you did not enjoy your stay, and wonder why you didn't express any of these concerns while you stayed in the cottage. The satellite TV receiver was down, and we were at the mercy of the sat company to fix it. We requested a rush, and We apologized about the tv to you on the first day. We personally clean the cottage between each guest, and it's possible a field mouse got in the few days it was vacant. We have pest control, and this is a rare occurrence, and would have cleaned for you if you spoke up. Your 7 yr old urinated in the bed, and we personally washed the sheets and provided you a new set without issue. The outside light was damaged by wind storm, repair man came the next day and was done in 20 minutes. We actively maintain the cottage, and island weather is always a factor. Our cottage is in a private country setting for people that don't want to stay in the crowd, but want to be a short drive to all the tourist attractions and beaches. Gps has no problem finding our driveway, and many guests have actually come in around midnight with no problems, and we are just a phone call away. We live in the next door cottage, and provide personal hospitality and service to guests. We also cut down hedges and a large tree recently to improve the partial river view from the cottage. We tell all guests to walk down the driveway to enjoy the river shoreline, shelling, picnic table, chairs, etc. the vast majority of our reviews are five star, including after your stay. The cottage is simple, quiete and comfortable, and all pictures and descriptions are accurate. As you only had two days and had lots to do, maybe you didn't have time to enjoy our property. Maybe a hotel would suite your expectations better next time? Best of luck to you.
We enjoyed our stay!
Nice house, well located 10 minutes from Cavendish in quiet area.
Thanks again for staying in our cottage, and we are happy you had a good time.
