The location of this home with its own expansive beach is perfect for a summer holiday or a winter game of family touch football followed by an afternoon spent curled up in front of the fireplace.
A perfect home away from home with all the amenities for a relaxing holiday.
This treasure is a timeless home that beacons families from near and far to enjoy its beachfront charm. I recently had the pleasure of visiting St. Malo with my family and it was an experience that will go unsurpassed- until our next visit that is! Tucked away in the charismatic colony of St. Malo, taking a trip to this home seemingly transported us from the bustle of Southern Cal to a private escape on the shores of Brittany.
The front gates of the property unfold onto a large courtyard- where we spent our nights enjoying vino and margaritas under the beautiful California summer sky. The courtyard gives access to four of the bedrooms, the kitchen, dinning room, and main living room. When the sunshine isn’t calling you to the sandy shores below, the living room is the perfect place to relax and entertain. Natural light floods into the living room from large windows overlooking the Pacific. Most mornings, I found myself enjoying my coffee from the windowsill, watching locals out in the surf. Parallel to the living room is an outdoor patio surrounded by glass panels, offering 180 degree views of the beach. If you can drag your brood off the beach for long enough, this is the perfect spot to enjoy lunch and a show (pods of porpoises swimming off the coast)! While the home itself is wonderful, the real star of the show is in the backyard. This home sits right on the sandy beaches of Oceanside. With private access restricted to homeowners, you can simply grab your beach chair and walk downstairs to your own private shore! This is where you really get your moneys worth. My grandkids spent hours on end playing in the water. There is surfing, swimming, boogie boarding, fishing, etc. Spanning miles in both directions, the beach is also the perfect place to enjoy a walk or run if you wish. I think this is what really sets this home apart. It has everything you need- there is really no sense in ever leaving. It truly is the perfect beach getaway and as I write this I find myself fantasizing about my toes in the sand and good beach read!
One thing that my family and I found to be so special about our visit to this home was the pride in ownership exhibited by the owners. This family has clearly treasured this home for generations, as is evident in the beautiful décor and personal touches seen throughout. My family and I feel very lucky that they opened their home to us and allowed us a taste of their slice of paradise.
I can’t wait to go back.
We recently spent a week at this lovely home on the beach. It accommodated our large family nicely. The kitchen was well stocked, and there were enough bedrooms so everyone had their own space. We ate on the large courtyard which worked well with all our kids.
However, we will never rent from these owners again. We have had to endure unpleasant accusations about how we left the house which from our standpoint were unjustified. We worked hard to leave the house clean and in good order. The unpleasant interactions with the owners negated a very good time at the beach, and we will never repeat a vacation there. We would recommend if anyone rents this place that they take pictures of everything and perhaps have the guard verify how you left the house.
