On the marina, not the beach.
I have to say that I was so completely disappointed when I arrived at this location. I had searched VRBO for beach front units, and found this one, but when I arrived, it was on the marina (which was beautiful, anyway), and had beach front ACCESS. THAT IS NOT THE SAME THING. However, the condo unit was spacious, with a generous living/kitchen area, huge master bed and bath, and 2 more decent bedrooms. The large balcony has wonderful views (except for the busy roadway), and the pool area was really nice. Overall this was a great condo for our large family, but VRBO should not list this one as beach front.
We loved the pools and the lazy river
Amazing kid friendly property in need of a little maintenance
We spent 5 days with our 4 children--3 boys 5,8, 10 and daughter 1.5 yrs last week. The amenities were phenomenal. Never have our kids been so entertained on their own for hours and hours. The water slides were of course a huge hit, as was jumping off the bridge pylons into the sound. The sunsets over the sound are gorgeous. The beach is a serious hike, even if you take the trolley, as the boardwalk is long as heck. It's faster to drive directly across the street almost to the public beach and have a very short walk.
Overall, the resort needed some TLC. It looked as if it was slightly poorly maintained. A little pressure washing, cleaning of pools and surroundings (main pool was a little slimey) and fixing of broken things like pool tiles could go a long way. The pool at our building (B) was the best and cleanest/nicest. And the sunset views from that pool are unbeatable.
The condo was ok, lots of broken things and missing kitchen staples like a cutting board but once we talked to the front desk, they were quick to supply what we needed and send up maintenance to fix things like a towel bar that kept crashing to the ground, a broken toilet handle, remove a broken screen door from the patio and replace light bulbs in the lamps that didn't work or were missing bulbs all together. The condo needs a little tlc itself, old carpet buckling in master, desperate need of a coat of fresh paint in the main areas, rusted towel shelves over the toilets, and needs more lighting--dinner was very dark due to lack of lighting, etc.
Overall, it was a good visit. The kids had a blast and of course don't notice all the things we do. We were glad to be in building B, as the other 2 buildings have crazy noise til 11p with the pools there, and those are the more crowded pools. The pool at building B is kinda a hidden gem almost.
