Communication was my main problem! Telephone didn't work and heater filled rooms with smoke!
Briefly I must say I was disappointed in this luxury condo. I don't understand the lack of signs on building, parking etc. No directions on how to use phone. Front desk closed at sundown finally got security who were very helpful. Tried to turn on heater and the condo was filled with smoke. Couldn't get front desk to answer phone. I went downstairs to tell them and they said my unit didn't belong to them!!! It WAS their building but they didn't care. Security came finally to check it out. Tried to call the number for Caribe and couldn't get through. Extremely stressful! Couldn't find any instructions on anything ...finally found notebook on top shelf of kitchen cabinet like it had been hidden. High tech appliances and lovely furnishings and gorgeous view!
We really liked the unit and will stay here again, without a doubt. I wish I can give the review 4.75 stars, but since I can't I will give the review the benefit of the doubt since everything turned out a pleasure. Having that said, here is a recap of our stay:
We arrived about thirty minutes after check in (5 O'clock PM guarantee check in) and upon opening the door there were three members of the house keeping staff hurrying to clean up the unit. It was a depressing first impression of the condo. My wife and I stayed in one of the front rooms until the crew was gone (about 30-45 minutes later) and it was upsetting due to the late check in (5pm) and we had dinner reservations in thirty minutes. We called the Caribe property management to describe our findings and they were apologetic and took care of the issue. Actually, they went above and beyond our expectations. Very professionally handled.
When we came out of our hiding place we were blown away to see how beautiful the entire unit was appointed. The kitchen was a knock-out. Full granite counter tops with wood accents throughout and All high end, stainless steel Kitchen Aide appliances, wine cooler, ice machine, microwave and the list goes on. We then noticed the Wolf gas range and the Sub Zero refrigerator. No expense spared here. I just wished my wife and I had plans on cooking here instead of having reservations every night. We will have to bring steaks with us next time. Oh, did I mention there is a private, stainless grill on the balcony? Yet another nice touch. Honestly, all of the furnishings are completely updated, new looking and well decorated throughout.
The master bath is great with a large shower and the indoor (and second outdoor) hot tub were a nice touch. Everything was great with our stay. The private parking space is right in front of the elevators and was very handy throughout the stay.
The air conditioner quick to cool the unit, even after we had the glass, sliding doors opened for the beach sounds and smells.
The only things I can pick (within the unit itself) is the master bed mattress could be replaced. It has a somewhat "wavy" contour and you have to find a good spot to sleep. I guess you can bring your own pillows to make it more like home. There were also several burnt-out bulbs throughout the unit but, it is an easy fix.
You will not go wrong staying here!
