My husband and I stayed at Indigo East for our anniversary last week. The property is beautiful and the beach was awesome! The unit however was another story. Everything seemed clean until I went in the shower in the Master. The ceiling had mold all around the edges. The TV in the Master was very nice and fairly new however the only channel I could get was CNBC. No other channels at all. The blinds in the 2nd bedroom were broken and hanging crooked. A maintenance worker came to check them the day we arrived and we never saw or heard a thing about it again after that. One evening we decided to eat in and I was looking for place mats. There was a very worn free standing cabinet in the kitchen so I opened it to see what I could find. The whole front of it fell off into pieces on the floor. On Thursday we went to the beach for a while. I came up to the unit around 4:00 and the power was off. They had been doing some testing on the alarm system in the building (which was very annoying) so I though maybe there was some problems. When I went to the front desk the guy from Gulf Power was there along with the employee who works the front desk. I found that the power had been cut off "for non payment". They tried to contact the owner who was not available. Doesn't the property management company hold money in escrow for problems like this. I guess not! After several conversations Between Indigo East Staff, Luxury Coastal Vacations and myself (about 4 hours later) we were moved to another unit. A gentleman from LCV came to help us move everything. I will have to say that the new unit they put us in for the balance of our stay was very nice. So in conclusion, we will not be returning to Perdido Key.
Condo was beautiful however we experienced some issues that were not resolved until the 5th day. The condo states it sleeps 6. There are 2 bedrooms and a pull out sofa. The pull out sofa mattress was very thin and you could feel the metal rods from the frame. There was no way anyone could sleep on that not even my children. The second bedroom would not cool. We reported these to the Luxury (VRBO). They did bring us a blow up mattress and stated they would report the air to the owner. We asked the gentleman for a fan which he stated he didn't know if they had any. We thought maybe since the curtains were open when we arrived that could be the reason it was hot so we closed them but that was not the case. The next day we made another report about the room not cooling. The third day we were told they were sending someone up to fix the air. The gentleman came and confirmed there wasn't much air going through the vents and stated he would call the owners and notify them. He stated the vent and ductwork were not large enough to support the air flow needed for that room. On day 4 and 5 it was unbearable so we reported again to Luxury. This time a different gentleman came and brought us a large fan that we could put in the hall an push air to the room we. We were on day 5 of not being able to really use the room except to dress. With 6 people it didn't leave much room to be comfortable as far as sleeping. The gentleman apologized over and over and stated he was going to report to Luxury that they failed us as a guest and that we should be compensated for the troubles. I made a call to them when we got home. What was offered was $200.00 credit towards our next year rental. I told them for a $2800.00 a week condo that was not acceptable. Had we known we were not going to be able to use the second bedroom we could have rented a 1 bedroom for half the price. I received an email later offering $300-$400 credit towards next year stay. I told them they could credit back that amount to the card used to book and was told they can't do that. I will not be renting from them again to even use the discount for next year they let my family down for 5 days I will be booking through another company for our yearly trip to the beach.
I was very impressed with the accommodations at this unit. It was perfect. It was furnished nicely and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. This was my first stay at Indigo and it will not be my last. I like the private elevator entrances. The two bedroom unit is perfect for us and I like the way one is in the front of the condo and the other one is in the back. I like the quiet beach that is available at Perdido Key. The staff was very helpful. I liked that I could actually enter the Indigo and get my checkin information rather than having to go a rental location. Staff was very helpful. I love having the beach service with the condo. This is a great added feature. I am planning my next spring break trip and I'm returning to the same condo as it was pleasant. The staff at Luxury Coastal staff has been very helpful and enjoyable to work with every time that I have called.
This was our second trip to Perdido Key and to Indigo resorts. This unit was perfect. It was well appointed and had just about everything you need from home. The views are spectacular. The bonus den was perfect for the kids to play in while the adults were in the family room. If you open both patio doors, you get a wonderful breeze that runs through the condo. The elevators are very efficient. We never waited more than a minute for the elevator and it opens up right in front of your door. There were only two units per floor that shared the elevator. There are two grocery stores just over the bridge. We prefer Perdido Key over Orange Beach and Gulf Shores because it is less congested. I would also highly recommend Luxury Coastal Vacations because of their professionalism and attention to detail. No, I am not affiliated with them what so ever. They helped me out at the last minute after I canceled a rental from Key Concepts Reality which was horrible. Indigo is definitely 5 stars.
