About Karen

We have been vacationing on the Cape for more than 20 years, and finally took the plunge and bought a house so we can enjoy the Cape all year round. Our kids grew up vacationing on the Cape and we have great family memories from our time here.

Karen purchased this house in 2011

Why Karen chose Harwich

When vacationing on the Cape, we always ride on the bike path, and often drove to Seymour Pond to swim -- that Cape ocean water can be cold! We were delighted to be able to buy a house within walking distance of this beautiful spot, and that is accessible to all the Cape has to offer. We love the big yard and terrific outdoor space. We love being close to golf, our favorite farm stand, mini-golf, good restaurants, and delicious ice cream stands. We like sitting outside listening to the fountain in the pond, barbequing, and the outdoor shower.

What makes this house unique

This location is near everything and is perfect for families. Biking, swimming and kayaking are steps away. A short drive to both ocean and bay beaches. A yard big enough for wiffle ball games. Games and puzzles for family game nights. A DVD player to watch movies. Lots of space to relax and enjoy, and wireless internet when you have to connect to the office.

Perfect location, clean, comfortable and good amenities.

  • 5 of 5

Kayak, bikes, beach chairs, umbrella and the silly little things like laundry and dish detergent and some basic spices make staying here easy. The backyard is excellent for kids. If the owners could add a few backyard toys or games it would add to the experience but it was pretty great as is.

Great house and fantastic location!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed this home. It was extremely comfortable and clean. Seymour pond is beautiful and right around the corner. We loved having access to a kayak and bike trails. Easy drive to beaches and several beautiful towns. The house was great for kids. We enjoyed grilling and playing board games and would definitely stay again!

We Love This House (and you will too)

  • 5 of 5

This is our second year staying at Karen and Colby's house (and we hope there will be a 3rd, 4th, 5th.......). We've rented many houses on the Cape and this place is the best one we've stayed in, across the board. You can see that it it is spacious, with three bedrooms, great outdoor space (including an awesome outdoor shower, patio with grill and separate private deck) and has a great location, 10 minutes from beaches, one minute from an awesome pond and 20 seconds from the bike path. But here's what you can't see: there is nothing in this house that I would call "rental grade". You know what I mean. Cheap furnishings, silverware, pots and pans, or my favorite, an HD TV but no HD cable service. Everything here is high quality. It's as if you are staying in their home (or your home), not their rental property. Everything is high end from real knives to cut with to real pots and pans to cut with. Since we cook every meal we really appreciate that.

Also, the house comes with every beach need (floating things, chairs, a cooler, umbrella etc) that you can imagine.

We are already planning our trip for next year and can't wait to get back. (Actually, please disregard this entire review. I don't want you booking the weeks we want to stay next year).

Lovely house on Cape Cod right next to bike path.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time on Cape Cod this year. This is our second time renting this house. This is a lovely house for a family of 6. House is very clean and well maintained. It is situated right next to the bike path but still offers a lot of privacy. Kitchen is well equipped. Owners are easy to reach.

Perfect vacation rental

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time on vacation, and so much of it had to do with the comforts of home in this rental. I was traveling cross country with my 9mos old son, and the grandparents drove up from PA. We had more than enough space to not be in each others way while still having fun together. The yard was perfect for outdoor activity when we didn't feel like heading out, and the pond in walking distance was perfect when we didn't want to pack for the beach! The grill was excellent for dining in. We had everything we wanted/needed in this home- I now hope to make this an annual tradition and would definitely rent this amazing home again.

Conveniently located Mid-Cape. Roll down the driveway onto the Cape Cod Bike Trail. Less than a 5-minute walk to a sandy beach on crystal clear Seymour Pond. Use our kayak at same or bring your own. Minutes to beaches in Brewster, Harwichport, Chatham and Orleans. Families with younger children will love exploring the tidal pools and shallow warm waters of Brewster's Bay beaches and Ridgevale Beach in Chatham which has a snack bar. Use the beach shuttle to Lighthouse Beach in Chatham. Walk about a quarter mile along the beach to see hundreds of seals. Shop in the quaint village. Visit the fish pier and see the day's catch being unloaded. Try the fried clams and onion rings at beautiful Nauset beach in Orleans. Spend a day at the National Seashore. Golf and mini-golf nearby. Great shopping and antiquing. Do a day trip to Provincetown. Go on a whale watch or fishing expedition. (Whale watches also leave from Hyannis.) Rainy day activities include the Cape Cod Natural History Museum in Brewster. the Fire Museum, the Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory, the Cape Cod mall, and the movies. On a clear night, try the drive-in movies in Wellfleet. Tons of great restaurants from fried seafood to top-shelf dining experiences and everything in between. Some highlights include: Brewster Fish House, Georges's (Greek) Pizza in Harwichport, Buca in Harwichport, Pisces in Chatham, and many, many more. Great farm stands for fresh produce and pies.
