Comfortable and spacious apartment in a quiet road in Trastevere
Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was comfortable and spacious. Furthermore it was in a very quiet road which is quite a bonus in Trastevere which is very busy and noisy in places. The apartment is convenient for bars and restaurants. There is a supermarket (Connad) less than 10 mins walk away. The owner Giovanni was very polite and helpful in explaining everything. He speaks very good English.
Well located, stylish and immaculately clean Rome apartment. Owner was very helpful.
Lovely, well located and immaculately clean apartment. Owner was very helpful in giving us an orientation to the neighborhood. Washing machine a plus. Will definitely stay there next time I visit Rome. Neighborhood felt very safe. Easy walk to restaurants. Highly recommend!
Very nice and comfortable apartment. Perfect for my family's visit to dropoff daughter at college.
Comfortable beds. Not a large, spacious apartment, but clean and very accommodating for our one week stay. Wi-fi worked great, and the working air conditioners came in handy during the hot, humid month of Aug. Relatively quiet location and easy walking distance to pubs, restaurants, and the Tram and bus stops. Felt very safe and not threatened. Door guard was extremely helpful and pleasant. Very nice owner. I would consider staying in this apartment during future visits to Rome.
Great Location! Great Host!
Trastevere right across the Tiber River from Ancient Rome. Safe, charming neighbourhood. Great Restaurants. Very nice two bedroom unit. Perfect for exploring Rome.
A gem of a home away from home.
Giovanni was a gracious host. The apartment is lovely and located in a quiet corner of Trastevere, that is convenient to anything you might want. Everything was in perfect condition on the apartment and we enjoyed staying there tremendously. I would stay again if I return to Rome.
What a lucky find
I knew I wanted to stay in Trastevere during this visit to Rome. I was so lucky to find and choose to stay in La Scalea di Trastevere.
The location is very convenient for public transport, but if you want to, so many places are able to be reached on foot. (My pedometer worked overtime some days!) I found many interesting places to eat within a few minutes of the apartment, and the fresh food market in a nearby campo provided ingredients for the meals I prepared at home.
Giovanni was prompt in his communications before I arrived, and equally easy to reach if I had a question, during my stay. He spent ample time with me when I arrived, to ensure I knew how things worked in the apartment, and how to find the various shops, etc., in the neighbourhood.
His apartment is clean and well maintained and extremely well equipped for the people who rent it. Little touches such as electrical adaptors, a night light to guide your way to the bathroom and many cooking supplies were very welcome. Each of the two bedrooms had a generous supply of books! It was like having a personal library to browse through. I didn't have to buy coffee, olive oil, laundry and dish washing detergents, toilet paper, shampoo and shower gel. That was a pleasant surprise, after staying in many apartments in Italy over a 10 year period, and having to buy my own. The bottle of red wine he left was also appreciated.
The bed was very comfortable, with lovely crisp bed linen. Heavy shutters on the windows kept out external noise, except for the one night when Rome was celebrating its 2, 771st birthday!
The kitchen is quite small, but very well equipped for cooking and washing up. There is a dishwasher, which I never did use. I really loved the convection cook-top and wish I had one at home. The bathroom is also small, but has been well planned to utilise the available space. There was a reliable supply of hot water. My guest during the last week and I used the air-conditioners in our bedrooms a couple of days when it got quite warm. Our rooms were soon cool and comfortable for sleeping.
I guess you can tell I was happy have stayed in this apartment, and would certainly recommend it, and its owner, to anyone thinking of staying in Trastevere.
The apartment is located in the Trastevere district at the base of the Gianicolo hill in a quiet and calm area next to the Scalea del Tamburino. The apartment is a few meters away from Piazza San Cosimato and Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere. From here, you can enjoy a short walk trough the nice cobblestone streets of the Medieval Trastevere district and reach in 15-20 minutes some of the most famous city spots such as Campo Dei Fiori, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Colosseum and Piazza Venezia. If you want to reach the heart of Rome by tram, there is a tram stop at a short walking distance from the apartment. From here, the high frequency line 8 will get you until Largo di Torre Argentina and Piazza Venezia in 5 to 10 minutes.
