Bottom line vacation homes verses hotels saves you money on meals and drinks as you don't have to go out to eat 3 meals a day. And hotels charge more tax, parking, internet, movies, etc.

I enjoy playing beach volleyball in South Mission Beach, kickball in PB 'Pacific Beach', going out in downtown La Jolla, on Turquoise (North PB) and Bird Rock or on La Jolla Blvd. I'm in the perfect location...up on the hill with the views, close to the beach but not all the crowds of the beach. The home is designed to entertain. I am a dog lover but my dog passed away. So the place is dog friendly but only occasionally houses dogs. I'm constantly trying to make your vacation better. Great Views and Location!

The house was great! It was clean and spacious for our family of 4 (two small children). Many other guests will have more people staying, and there is plenty of room. The views are great and the location is close to many attractions, beaches, restaurants, surf shops, etc. Access to the house was easy and parking was perfect! Thank you to the owner / property manager for everything!

Awesome Stay

The house was ready and clean. No hangups or complications. Great location. Easy access to La Jolla and pacific beach. Uber rides were around 6 dollars. Extremely comfortable beds.

great place to stay ... some hitches to be aware of

Place is wonderful, lots of space and beds, great view over the ocean. I reserved this to host a family reunion in conjunction with our silver anniversary celebration. Laura has lots of local information in folders in the entry and the kitchen had a lot of the supplies you need to prepare meals. We had a good time while we were there. Just check the expiration dates and for bugs.

Laura was very responsive before we arrived... the one time we tried contacting while in the house, we never did get a response, but judging from other comments, she generally responds quickly.

It is a good choice for any gatherings or staying in San Diego area.

Some things to be aware of:

- the initial headcount you give her is the minimum you will be charged for even if you let her know well before checking in of a lower headcount.

- if you originally request an early check-in and then later request to check-in a day earlier with the comment that if you get the additional day, that you will not need the early check-in .... you still have to go back and send a specific Email stating to CANCEL THE EARLY CHECK-IN (I made the additional day request with the advisory, but did not send the specific second Email since I thought that telling Laura that if we got the extra day we wouldn't need early check-in was sufficient) ... I was wrong and didn't get the extra money refunded

- the noise restrictions are only for your group ... a house across the street had a large party the day/night of our family reunion and their music was loud enough to vibrate significantly the sliding glass doors and we had problems talking and hearing each other. My husband went over to ask them to bring the music level down, they slammed the door in his face... my husband was polite to them. Their guests also blocked the driveway of Laura's house where two of my cousins were parked and neither car could get out until the party across the street broke up. You will be told that your guests need to park on the major road two blocks away (wide sides with parking spaces marked and it is close so not a big issue not being able to park near the house),

- my refund took months to get and multiple Emails... only got part of the original deposit back, not the refundable breakage deposit.

-We bought a crock-pot and left it there for future guests to use since there was not one in the house.

Perfect for a group trip!

I reserved this home two weeks ago for a group of 17 for an overnight trip to San Diego, and it was a perfect fit for our group. There were enough comfortable beds to accommodate everyone very easily without feeling crowded, the bathrooms were GORGEOUS, the living room was spacious, the outdoor (backyard and front fire pit space) were incredible and fun to relax in, the kitchen was fully stocked and fun to use, and the location was close to anything you could want. Everyone was so impressed with the house and had a great time. Laura Christine was so easy to work with - she was very flexible with my many inquires and changes (adding more people, asking for a late checkout, and more) and was easily accessible and excellent at communicating with me over text and email. Overall a great experience. One note to future renters - watch the noise! I had a big group of teens and we stayed up late playing group games, and despite closed windows and doors, we might not get our full security deposit back, as there are neighbors in very close proximity and I found out later that we had kept them up :(. This is the only sad thing/downside of the experience. I will update my review and let you know how the deposit situation pans out. There was nothing our host could have done, and she just passed on the texts she received from the neighbors - it's just something to be aware of if you are booking for a large group.

PERFECT HOUSE

We had a large group, the house was accommodating to us. It was in a very nice neighborhood, totally safe. 20 minute downhill walk to Pacific Beach.

The house was super nice and the lady in charge, Laura, was awesome.

If you have a larger group (family or just a group of friends), STAY HERE!

Book for a Week: Lengthen your stay to 5-7 days or a month you get a bigger savings the longer you stay depending on the season. (Summer and holidays excluded.)

Book Non-high Season. This is tough one because San Diego has vacation destination all year. The less busy months tend to be non-holiday weeks, events, or graduation weeks of Oct., Jan., Feb., May with great weather.

Invite Your Friends and Family. My houses sleeps 16-20 and splitting the fix rates by 16-20 you all enjoy a super savings over hotels.

Bottom line vacation homes verses hotels saves you money on meals and drinks as you don't have to go out to eat three meals a day. And hotels charge more tax, parking, internet, movies, etc.
