Home, 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, above Teton Valley, near Victor/Driggs
This is the perfect place to base your Rocky Mountain visit or to just enjoy the view and the serene rural character of Teton Valley, Idaho. The setting of our home feels removed yet it is close to so much.
Sitting on 20 acres 200’ off the Valley floor the views from the house are mesmerizing . The wood features - timber frame, reclaimed wood, large trees and beam package make this a very unique structure.
You will have all the comforts of home in this magnificent setting. There is a large east facing deck where you can greet the morning sun and the Tetons with a cup of coffee, and grill your evening meal watching the alpine glow.
Both our master bedroom and our guest room have comfortable queen beds and their own tiled bathrooms.
The kitchen is fully equipped and great for cooking and conversation. Our great room has 18‘ ceilings, a large reclaimed log dining room table, an area to read, relax, listen to music and enjoy the views.
There are two office work spaces. We have WiFi though out the house, a T.V. (for movies), DVD player, iPod docking station and excellent sound system. There is a stone deck off the master bedroom with views of the Tetons and a stone patio on the westside of the house. Many places to enjoy the surrounding hillsides -The Big Holes.
Below the house is a small organic dairy farm . We make yogurt with their milk and love their cheeses. They sell their milk at Barrels and Bins in Driggs and their cheese at the Victor Valley Market in Victor.
460 Bread baked in the Valley rivals any we have found in Portland.
Our house is located a short distance from Victor which has many restaurants (Our favorites are: The Knotty Pine, Scratch, Spoon, The Emporium - Famous Huckleberry Shakes, Big Hole BBQ, plus pizza, beers and if you want to cook at home the Victor Valley Market).
Driggs is 8 miles in the other direction with unique shops (Guchiebirds, Yostmark, Peaked Sports, Habitat, The Corner Drug), Barrels and Bins an organic food store and Broulims an excellent grocery store in this rural world. Driggs also has many of our favorite restaurants (Forage, Teton Thai, Warbirds, The Royal Wolff, Tony’s Pizza, Pendls, Cicero's, and the Tatanka Tavern). The list goes on and on. It is truly remarkable that such a small Valley has so many wonderful amenities.
Grand Targhee Resort 12 miles outside of Driggs is a destination in itself (restaurants, hiking, horseback riding, music festivals, mountain biking)
There are many yoga and body work businesses in the area.
Teton Springs offers some amenities open to the public http://www.tetonsprings.com/Club/Scripts/Home/home.asp
Golf courses - Teton Village -Alta, Wy., Teton Reserve - between Driggs and Victor on Hwy 33, Teton Springs - outside of Victor
Mountain Bike Rental - Peaked Sports, Habitat, Fitzgerald's Bikes
World Class Fishing on the South Fork of the Salmon and Henry’s Fork both an hour plus away. Orvis outlets, World Cast Anglers.
Hiking and Backpacking - Yostmark will give you endless ideas as to where to go.
Jackson, WY. 45 minutes from our house.
South and West entrances to Yellowstone 2 hours from our house
Grand Teton National Park entrance 1 hour+ from our house
Horseback riding: Grand Targhee, The Linn Ranch and Bagley’s Teton Mountain Ranch (5 miles from our house)
The list goes on.
This area is truly remarkable in its beauty, access to the magnificent Rocky Mountain west and all it has to offer. Teton Valley is both removed and yet offers so many things we have grown to love and enjoy (good food, unique shops, friendly people and many relaxing and recreational opportunities) on a vacation and in life.

About David Axelrod
We have been skiing and camping in the Rockies all of our adult lives. We first came to Teton Valley and Targhee in the late 1980’s with our children. We fell in love with the area and decided to build a home here. It was completed in 2007. We are still working and based in Portland, Oregon, but have been able to spend a lot of the winters here. We love to ski. But summer in the Rockies is glorious and there are many cultural activities as well. A great time to visit.
David Axelrod purchased this House in 2007
Why David Axelrod chose Victor
The west side of the Valley has a unique rural feel with wonderful views of the Tetons. Quiet, removed yet very close to all that makes the area magnificent. This beautiful home was built by Snake River Builders.

Amazing vacation home!
We've been visiting Teton Valley for 10 years and this home offers the best value. The views are amazing and the setting is peaceful and quiet. The home is spacious and has a great deck to enjoy all that the location has to offer. As much as there is to do in the area, we found ourselves looking forward to returning to the home each day. The owners make themselves accessible if you need them. We can't wait to return!
Spectacular views of the Tetons, and a quiet/relaxing place to stay!
We stayed here for a week, as part of a family event in Jackson Hole, Wy. Victor is a nice small town and a quiet place to get away to, especially after dealing with the tourist crowds in Jackson Hole.
The house itself is large, certainly a lot of space for the two of us, but it was also nice to be able to spread out, and relax. A wonderful sitting area for evenings looking out across the vistas, with a glass of wine.
We had a few minor issues during our stay, but the owners were easy to communicate with, everything was resolved satisfactorily.
Saw the resident great horned owls on a number of occasions which was nice as well.
We'd love to come back in the future.
Much more than we hoped!
It was a pleasure to stay in this lovely Idaho home. The view superb, beds & pillows comfortable and the kitchen was great. Take time to explore surrounding National Parks, small towns, ski resorts and the Milky Way at night! Hopefully, read many of the offered books and relax. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
The mornings were breathtaking, as the sun rose over the Tetons!
The house is well-kept, and comfortable … Beautiful views from every room! … We loved it! Family of five
Beautiful home, beautiful view
The house is amazing. It is only 2 bedroom but with LOTS of living areas and nooks, and a great kitchen. Spectacular views from every room and window. Would highly recommend!
Beautiful home, perfect location
This is our third trip to the Victor/Driggs area and loved the location and privacy of this beautiful home. We like to ride our ATVs on the many wonderful trails in the area. It was an easy ride from the home to the trailheads. We enjoyed the mornings and evenings on the deck enjoying the views of the valley and the Tetons. Would definitely stay there again! Highly recommend it!
Our home is across the Valley (7 miles) from two small and charming Idaho towns (Driggs and Victor) with many great restaurants, shops, small eateries and western bars. It is truly amazing what a variety of entertainment that this small rural area offers.
We love it because of it's beauty and adventure and recreational opportunities.
There are also many unique places to eat and shop. And if you need a bigger city experience Jackson, Wyoming is 30 miles away.
Restaurants in Driggs that we enjoy: Forage, Teton Thai, Warbirds, Pendls, The Royal Wolff, Cicero's and the Tatanka Tavern.
The Knotty Pine, Scratch, Spoon, Big Hole BBQ, Everest MoMo Shack and Breakman Grill are in Victor.
Both towns have small unique shops (Guchiebirds, Yostmark, Peaked Sports, Habitat, The Emporium, The Corner Drug and more). You will meet the locals and enjoy your time in a wonderful part of America.
Victor has a wonderful 4th of July parade and each Thursday night there is the 'Music on Main' a music festival all through the summer.
Visit the Teton Valley Chamber of Commerce site to see exactly what is going on in the Valley.
Grand Targhee is 20 miles away with music festivals, hiking, biking, The Trap Bar and The Branding Iron Grill.
And if that isn't enough you are 2 hours from the North and South entrances of Yellowstone National Park and one hour from the entrance of Grand Teton National Park.
Our home is a perfect place to base your Rocky Mountain visit or just enjoy where you are.
