2 Bedroom 2 Bathroom Beach House With Private Stairs To Secluded Beach.
FYI: The devastating Sonoma County fire of 2017 did not in any way effect the area for many miles around our location and did not impact the Coastal Region. Our hearts go out to all those who have suffered a terrible loss.
Welcome to our beach house (completely remodeled in 2013) for the 'Ultimate Pacific Coast Surf Experience'. Perched atop a cliff overlooking the Pacific approximately 4 miles north of Bodega Bay. The photo's will depict views from the actual property and the beautiful coastal inspired interior.

The beach house is built on the bluff over looking a spectacular show of nature at her best. You will have your own private stairs down to a sheltered, secluded beach. You can have beach fun and family time exploring tide pools or a romantic, quiet picnic...Just the two of you and the ocean.
The design and construction team have kept the integrity of the seaside property with it's planked walls and raked ceiling, enhancing the beach house ambiance. Comforting neutrals, warm whites and current pops of fun color punctuate the decor. Driftwood effect ceramic floors, quartz counters and nautical theme accessories carry the beach house motif throughout.
The Pacific, west facing beach house allows you to view the surf at all times and enjoy the most breath taking sunsets, crashing surf, sea mist and bold rugged rock formations.
The great room with it's 35 foot wide wall of pacific facing windows is comfortably furnished with a log-effect fireplace and a Smart flat screen TV. Internet and free US and Canada long distance supplied for your convenience.
Dining for four at the antique table with it's captain's chairs, or at the large quartz peninsula.

To add to your comfort we have installed a wall mounted fireplace to keep the chill off and a T.V.. It has a large en suite with a tub and shower combo. The second king has a Pacific Ocean and farm view, a wall mounted fireplace and T.V.. A quaint shower bathroom with a quartz vanity services this king room. Both bedrooms offer great privacy and are ideal for two couples.

About Gay Jardine
We are a design and construction team with a lot of energy! We love taking something and turning it around. Our vacation rentals and guests are important to us and we enjoy our work. We also have other properties that have been a success and enjoyed by many.
Gay Jardine purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Gay Jardine chose Sereno del Mar
This property is a find in a million! You just don't come by a gem like Surfscape every day. The impact of walking into the cottage and being amazed by the pounding surf right there in your living room was well beyond words! There is really nothing like it!
What makes this Cottage unique
Private beach stairs down to a semi secluded beach! Not only do you have an amazing up-close ocean view, but you have access to the beach below. The beach is close to being private with only one other neighbor's staircase leading down. The beach is cut-off from both ends at higher tides. Very few beach-combers and you'll feel as though it were your own! The cottage has a wonderful coastal cliff location (the seagulls fly past your windows!) Fantastic views of the Pacific and beautiful crashing surf. Large deck and glass railing. (PLEASE NOTE: AS PER SONOMA COUNTY: We are NOT permitted as a wedding destination location, or a site for gatherings. We cannot hold ceremonies, host pre or post wedding get- togethers or social gatherings. 6 ( SIX) guests maximum at ALL times, no daily gatherings of more visitors. We are 100% PET ALLERGY FREE . Thank you.

This House is a Treasure
This house is peaceful with calming ocean views on one side and rolling hills on the other. We loved everything about this house--it's a great place to get away and enjoy with the ones you love.
This is our second time staying at the Surfscape and it was just as wonderful as the first. Amazing views not only of the ocean, but the rolling hills and farm area across the street are just as beautiful. House is clean, updated and well stocked. Doug & Gay are very easy to work with and make renting their home a breeze. There is another house on the property but don't let that deter you. You can't hear any noise or are even aware that it is there. One day we noticed water running on the deck and we didn't know if it was an issue or not so we texted Blanca their local contact. She got back to us immediately and had someone over to look at it within a half hour. Turned out to be not a big deal, but the response was amazing. We went into Napa for a day which is about 1 1/2 hour scenic drive. Another day we drove up to Stumptown Brewery in Guerneville, well worth it if you like breweries. Hung out in Bodega Bay and had chowder, our favorite is at Fishetarian Fish Market. One hint of advice I have is to stop at a grocery store before getting to the house. There are local markets, but they are rather pricey. I would totally recommend this rental. If there were more than 5 stars they would get them all. We can't wait to go back. Thank you Doug & Gay for another amazing time at your rental.
Location wonderful, fabulous view, great place
Second time staying there. Couldn’t ask for a better location, view and amenities. I love it there.
There was one issue. Couldn’t get the heater to work, woke up and was very cold. I called the contact person and was told there were portable heaters in the closet and a repairman would come at noon. Since this was my vacation, I made a quick trip for a walk on the beach so I’d be there at noon. Then received a call and was told repairman would come between 12-4pm . At 4:15 still no repairman so I called again and was told he’d be there in 15 mins. He did come and had trouble getting it working, but finally did after about 30 mins. Soon after found there was a squealing/ whistling sound coming from the heater that got louder and very annoying as it worked. So had the heat and fire, but annoying noise. I would have liked to spend those 5 ++ hrs completely different than waiting for a repairman. I do want to go back, I only hope the fireplace problems get resolved permanently.
Unfortunately things happen, just as they do in our full-time homes. We acted as quickly as possible to re set the digital thermostat for the Dimplex fireplace. The power must have gone out(even for a quick second) or a surge happened, just enough to have the thermostat need re-setting. We had the housekeeper check for noise and have since had several guests in and we have asked how the fireplace is functioning and no one has heard the noise(?) We also did mention to the guests that they did not need to be home for our local handy man to re-set the thermostat. This was their choice.
Our home is wonderfully cared for by a local family whom we trust implicitly.
We do have additional heaters and each bedroom has a fireplace.
Apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for visiting.
Beautiful property, amazing location and views that can't be beaten!
Gorgeous! The beach house was beautifully appointed, clean and had everything we needed.
Comfortable furnishings with modern flare and coastal ambience.
The WOW is the amazing view the second you open the door, the ocean is crashing before you!
Wall-to-wall windows with exceptional Pacific views. The stairs down to the beach are a huge attribute to this property.
Beautiful glass enclosed deck with Adirondack style chairs (as well as a little bistro set) to enjoy your morning coffee or sunset glass of wine. It's still beautiful even dramatic in stormy, chilly weather! (Pack a cozy wrap)
Great kitchen with full ocean view, fabulous place to share the cooking or chat over appetizers and your favorite glass while sitting at the huge quartz counter. Thoughtful basic pantry items were available and very helpful. The CA king beds were very comfortable and had memory foam toppers, so with that being said, and the sound of the ocean crashing, we slept great!
Thanks so much for sharing your home with us. We'll be back!!
Beautiful Home, Quite Stay
Had a wonderful time at a very quiet location. Came from the east coast and learned a great deal about the area. Surfscape Beach House was the departure point for all our fun times. The location was ideal, the ease of getting there was wonderful, and the weather was great. Able to visit many different spots along the coast as well as inland to several winery's.
Glad you enjoyed our home and the amazing area of the Sonoma Coast with it's rugged beauty. We feel fortunate to have the beach house and it's location being well situated for wine country as well as peaceful retreating.
Many thanks for visiting us!
Beautiful getaway! Clean, peaceful, will definitely come back!
We'd love to have you!
Thanks so much for visiting us, we do hope to see you again.
