Overview

About the property

Super cool houseboat - Minutes away from Downtown! FREE PARKING!

Experience Boston from the unique perspective of your own floating house! Nestled in a protected marina in Boston Harbor, our houseboat is fully equipped with all the comforts and amenities of home!

Located in a very secure and gated marina, our houseboat is just minutes away from downtown Bostons' most popular attractions; Fanueil Hall/Quincy Market, the North End, the New England Aquarium, the Childrens Museum and the Boston Convention Center. Our convenient location makes it easy for you reach points of interest along the waterfront on foot, via discounted water taxi, Uber and Lyft. There is also a ton of public transportation options nearby. Go ahead and rent or bring your car, this rental has a FREE parking space for it! This is unheard of in Boston!

This marina is located in the up and coming East Boston Neighborhood of Boston. It is minutes away from the airport, and dozens of great restaurants and shops. There is a grocery store less than a half mile away, and a convenience store on the corner. We partner with Rowes Wharf Water Transport to provide a reduced rate water taxi service to the guests of our boats into Rowes Wharf in Downtown Boston. Our guests can utilize this service for $25/pp round trip. This quick 25 minute ride puts you right in the center of all there is to do in Boston. This stop drops you at the Aquarium, Fanueil Hall/Quincy Market and the North End. Our location in the actual working port of Boston affords our guests the unique perspective of the historic Boston Shipping Trade in action. Watch the drawbridge open from your roof deck as barges and tugboats pass by, supplying Boston and the Northeast with the needed commodities for commerce!

A question I am often asked is how safe the area is. Boston is a very safe city, and our location in the neighborhood of East Boston is quite safe as well. The marina has 24 hour security patrols, along with locking gates at the entrances to the docks and video surveillance. We encourage our guests to be aware of their surroundings and experience Boston as they would any major city. As I mentioned above, we are located in the working port area of Boston, so it is not as picturesque as some of the other marinas on the Boston Proper side, but many guests find this to be the draw. You can escape from the frenetic pace of downtown in the evening and enjoy solitude on the boat.

There is a great little grocery store about 1 block from the boat. They carry a full line of groceries, beer wine and liquor and any other necessities you may need. There is also a regular grocery store about ½ mile from the boat, as well as a larger liquor store, a bank, Subway restaraunt, a Dunkin Donuts. and many many great local restaurants.

If you would like to go out onto the water We have numerous connections with the local charter companies. We can help you to coordinate a charter on a private yacht for up to 10 guests, or tickets aboard a vintage sailboat touring Boston Harbor.

This unique location is becoming a hub for working professionals. You may never want to head into Downtown during your stay. If you are able to pull yourself away, the multiple transportation options for getting into the city make it a cinch!

We provide all linens and towels so there is no need to worry about laundry plus an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, plus bathroom products such as soaps, shampoos, and lotions. We even include condiments and a coffee maker with coffee. This houseboat is fully air-conditioned and heated for your comfort in any season. All this for less than the price of the smallest rooms at any of the nearby downtown waterfront hotels!

There is a master stateroom with a queen bed, two twin beds in a sleeping loft and a queen sized sofa bed for the living room. Additionally there is a full kitchen with a cooktop, microwave and full sized refrigerator. Off the kitchen is the bathroom, which is huge by boat standards. it has a full sized stand up shower, head and vanity/sink.

The boat is in a protected part of the marina, but there can be some occasional movement during the day when boats pass by. At night the waters are very calm and some guests even find that a bit of gentle swaying relaxes them and makes for a very restful sleep.

After a long day of touring the city there is nothing better than relaxing on your own private sun deck with a cold drink in hand, listening to the soothing sounds of the water.

A good idea, but needs a refresh

  • 1 of 5

We loved the idea of staying on a boat in Boston to enjoy a unique experience. However this rental is in real need of a total refresh. Way too much money for how tired this place is. It sits in a very industrial harbor so there is no view. Very noisy with construction, dump trucks and barges coming and going. It's far from any of the normal Boston experiences so it requires work to get Uber or lift to pick you up. The general state of repair and decor is poor. Needs a total redo. Facets leak, drains are plugged, locks are hard to work, closet doors are missing, old furniture and appliances. We really wanted to love it, but came away just thinking is was a waste of money since you can book a really nice place in Boston for way less.

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

Looking for VRBO places to stay, I couldn’t get passed this one! So cozy, so pleasant! Clean, comfortable, great to hang out and relax after a day of activities or whatever you are doing. And so good for sleep! Don’t pass this or similiar place for alternative to traditional bland hotel room.
