This adorable and colorful 'Beach' decorated 2 story town house is ideal for families and snow birds who enjoy the comforts and privacy of a home. First floor has living and dining room, kitchen with breakfast counter, Master bedroom with attached bathroom. The 2nd floor includes a large bedroom, bathroom, bunk beds, and a large air conditioned sunroom that is perfect for the kids to play in or watch TV. Guests will be able to enjoy a fenced patio and garden with year round flowers. To expand home cooking options a large 4-burner Stainless Steel Gas BBQ is provided for guest use. A private driveway is right out front large enough for 3 to 4 vehicles. Small pets are welcome as long as they are behaved and cleaned up after, a small pet door is available to the patio. A new addition to the house are 2 Bikes that you can use to leisurely explore the Island on 2 wheels!
Many Island restaurants, the top island bar and pizzeria, Island nightlife, and the beach are within a 1 to 4 minute walk. A public beach park complete with restrooms and life guard is located 1500 feet away. Beach services are available, but the owner has provided a Beach Cart with beach chairs, Sun Umbrella, and towels for guest use. Additionally the owner has some Golf clubs, and fishing poles available for guest use.
The townhouse is located about ½ mile from Hwy 98 right off of Santa Rosa Blvd with convenient access to Destin, Fort Walton Beach, and the whole Gulf Coast.

We are retired USAF military members and live on Okaloosa Island ourselves only 2 miles to the west of our rental townhouse.

We have owned this town house since the late 80's and it was used by a family member until recently. In 2013 we completed a renovation of the interior including new paint and ceilings, bathroom upgrades and new appliances.
What makes this Townhome unique
This town house is at the center of Okaloosa Island amenities within easy walking access to over 4 nearby restaurants, favorite Island Bars, and the Islands Beautiful Beach. A new Okaloosa Island Family oriented Mini-Golf course (& Ice Cream Shop) is now open about 600 feet from our townhouse. Additionally 3 different Boat and SeaDoo rental facilities, and the Harbor Walk beach recreation, restaurants and fishing pier are just 2 miles away, and the Luckiest Fishing Village Destin is only 8 miles down the road plus you are in the middle of all the Emerald Coast shopping and recreation activities (Pensacola to Panama City), -- only minutes away by car or the Island bus service, day or night. Come and enjoy what Island Time is all about.

Lots of room at great price
very funky place, but worked perfectly for what we needed. Plenty of room with separate upstairs if you had kids/families that didn't want to be on top of each other.
P.S. Haven't seen an awesome VHS collection like they have for years !
Property was exactly as shown--no surprises
We enjoyed our stay at this town home. Location is great and town home was very comfortable. The outside garden area is very private and lovely to sit in and relax. Easy walk to the beach or you can drive. The owner provides beach chairs, umbrellas, and a cart to get them to the beach. Cecil and his wife were very quick to respond to a couple minor problems we had. We would rent it again if we went to the Fort Walton beach area again and needed such a large place.
The stay was good, but the amenities need updated. All linens, towels & carpet need replaced.
Overall, good location and size. Smells like smoke, dog got fleas, had to wash all throw rugs & towels due to large stains and not sure they were clean. Carpet is disgusting. Did have big rooms. Nice kitchen fully stocked. Upstairs is a leaky roof rigged by a long see thru tube that water flows into a bucket middle of room. Soft places in floor. May be rotted out. Back patio is nice, but very moldy, dirty and three cats that live there. They gave us a bottle of wine and case of soda, nice!! The pictures looked great, but not at all what we expected. A little concerned about being next to the Hellen Back Bar, but was OK. Parking was limited. First time to rent a VRBO and may be our last. Sorry we feel so disappointed, but We have much higher standards. Thank you!
We are sorry these guests had a stay not to their expectations, but we maintain our rental townhouse to exceptional standards within the moderately priced market we are working to fill. You can tell by our overall reviews that most guests are pleased with the rental we provide. There are hundreds of smaller and more expensive Pet Prohibited rentals available on the island. At the guests request we provided a Christmas tree to support their Holiday desires and a Military discount to help with their budget with no response from the guests. The guests dog was allowed to stay at no extra cost to them. The upstairs only carpets are professionally cleaned twice a year and show average wear. The house is No Smoking, and renters are absolutely prohibited from smoking at any time. We could smell No Smoke inside our townhouse when we returned from our own vacation. The house has no Fleas. We cannot control the local Flea population outside the house, but it is winter so fleas should be more scarce. We continually review all towels and linens to make sure they are adequate for guest use.
The Up-Stairs add on Sun-Room provides much additional living space but has a low slope aluminum ceiling and has a small leak during occasional heavy "Florida" rains along a Hurricane support beam. This beam has a 3/8" clear plastic tube that collects the small leak into a bucket next to a couch. Someday I will find a roofer that can figure this leak out. Until then this water tube and bucket have no impact on anything that goes on in that room. The floor in this room has a carpet over plywood flooring. The floors do creak but have not changed in the last 20 years.
The townhouse has a single 40 ft long private driveway for parking. This will support 3 vehicles. More than the average townhouse on the island.
It is winter here in North Florida. The back patio should have dead winter leaves blown out as part of the cleaning before each guest stay, and yes it could use a pressure washing. This will happen soon during the annual Spring Cleaning here in North Florida.
The Island Cats that live outside the townhouse are detailed in the VRBO advertisement. No surprises. They have called this town-house home from the days my wife's mother lived there years ago.
We encourage all guests to call us immediately when they find problems. We respond immediately to all issues brought to our attention. None were brought to us by this guest.
Location and Livability
Thank you for letting us stay at your condo. It is always nice to have our expectations met. It had everything we needed plus those items that are not always found like the basic spices and condiments. Plenty of room to spread out and close to beaches, restaurants and shopping without having to deal with the traffic and rush that is Destin.
We will definitely stay at this property again.

Okaloosa Island is a barrier Island located between Fort Walton Beach, Florida and Destin, Florida on US Hwy 98. This Gulf front barrier Island is part of Fort Walton Beach and is surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico, Choctawhatchee Bay, Intercostal Waterway and is connected to Destin and Fort Walton Beach by bridges at each end of the island. On the west end, you will find many condos, resorts, eating establishments, service businesses, and 8 beach parks. The owner’s house is located near the mid section of the island which is the hub of activity, including: • Restaurants • Nightlife • Boardwalk with a large parking lot • Public beach entrance • Showers and restrooms • Beach shopping • Water sports • Boat ramp • Gulfarium • Public Fishing pier The east end of the island (toward Destin) consists mostly of long sandy beaches with protected dunes, several beach accesses and gulf side parks. Here you will also find the Coast Guard station, Eglin Military Beach Club with beachside facilities and parking lot (not open to the public), and a unpaved public parking lot at the base of the Destin bridge. Be sure to bring your snorkeling gear, boogies boards, surfboards and windsurfing gear. In addition to what the owner provides various types of water rental recreation equipment including SeaDoo and Pontoon boat rental, wind surfing, Para Sailing, surf fishing, and beach service chair and umbrella rentals are also available on the island.

Minimum stay is 5 nights (6 days) for all rentals. Due to the significant cost of cleaning between guests there is a $90 cleaning fee (75% of actual cost) for all stays. Government or military on orders, we will accept FtWalton Per-Diem or TLA Rates for all reservations (5 night minimum stay) year round. Check in is 4PM or later, Checkout is 10AM or earlier.
