About Robin Shemancik

My husband and I bought this house in 2007 after looking for a lake house for 3 years. I am a middle science school retiredteacher and my husband works in IT. My husband and I are both strong Christians. We live approx. 1lhr. away, but we visit as often as we can.

Robin Shemancik purchased this house in 2007

Why Robin Shemancik chose North Carolina

We love this house because of its location, the views, the deep water, and the quietness. We love watching the ducks and cranes play in the water. I love sitting in the swing or rocking chairs and just enjoying the peacefulness. The deck is huge which is awesome for family gatherings. We recently purchased a sun setter which makes the deck even more enjoyable. A fire pit was added in 2015. Also house has a gas fireplace for cozy nights.

What makes this house unique

Large pier with deep water. Perfect for swimming, boating and fishing. The views of the lake from the upstairs and downstairs are stunning.

AWESOME VACATION at High Rock Lake

  • 5 of 5

We could not have asked for anything better! The booking process was awesome and the owners were extremely responsive. The house was clean, beautiful and so very welcoming! It was stocked so well with linens, towels, dishes, pots and pans and appliances that there was not anything that we would have needed. There were six of us there including our two grandsons (age 8 and 10). We were so comfortable no matter where we congregated; the house, the outside porch, the new gazebo or the dock area. Sunsets were beautiful, the fishing was awesome, so much so, we even had a fish dinner one night.

After only 1 day there, our 10 year old grandson said to me, " Memere, it just doesn't get any better than this, does it?" We could not have agreed with him any more. We will be back in the future!

WOW! The pictures don't do it justice!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our week in this spectacular lake house! The reservation process was easy and clear with the owner being very responsive to questions and emails. The house exceeded our expectations in many ways. It is extremely well cared for and maintained, beautifully decorated, and very well appointed. We found everything we needed and then some in the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. To say the bedding and furniture are comfortable is a huge understatement! Really, they have thought of anything and everything to ensure the guest's total comfort and enjoyment. The deck and view from it were simply awesome and so relaxing for morning coffee & wine in the evening. I highly recommend this rental and would return in an instant!

Another Great July 4th at High Rock

  • 5 of 5

Our second trip to this extraordinary house and we are looking forward to returning again. The owner is a pleasure to work with. The house is everything you could possibly need or want. We love having the quiet, private area to enjoy time with friends. After long tiring days, the beds welcomed us for a nice relaxing night's rest. Till next time!

Best Lakehouse in North Carolina

  • 5 of 5

Our family loves coming to High Rock Lake for summer vacation but only if we stay in this house! To say that it is perfect is an understatement. We woke up well rested every day as the mattresses and comforters are luxurious. I think the master bed might be the thing I miss the most since coming home.

The kitchen had everything we needed including plenty of pots, pans and dishes. We cooked in every night so we made good use of the kitchen and the outdoor grill. There is also a washer and dryer which were perfect for all of our wet towels. The rest of the house is very well maintained and clean.

We put our boat in at Buddle Creek which is only a 10 minute by land or water. We felt very spoiled being able to keep our boat on our own dock! The kids loved jumping off the dock over and over and over....My husband enjoyed fishing off the dock while I enjoyed doing nothing but float.

The air conditioning went out on the first floor and the owner had someone out to fix it within a few days. Her quick response was appreciated on the 90 degree day. Thanks for sharing your home with us. See you next year!

FABULOUS!!!!

  • 5 of 5

I do not give a 5 star rating easily. This home, and when I say "home", i truly mean it, is just that. It has the quality and care of any 5 star hotel ( we have been to several) with everything you would need to enjoy your get away, and have it feel like your own home. The property was immaculate. The rooms were beautifully decorated. It was clean and well cared for. The beds were scrumptious and cozy! Great selection of appliances, should you need them. Beautiful view of the lake, water and weather were also perfect when we had our stay. Should I visit the High Rock Lake area, I would definitely stay again, and recommend you do the same!

Spectacular family time and memories

  • 5 of 5

We booked this house for a Memorial Day family getaway. This house was absolutely terrific and had all of the small details one could ask for. It had all of the comforts of a well-appointed home which was great after a long day of fun in the sun. The beds and bathrooms are terrific and provided an experience that leaves you wanting nothing, even though you are at the lake. Details like condiments and well-appointed kitchen combined with the spectacular deck and even a ping-Pong table really knock it out of the park on this beautifully updated home. We will definitely be back! Thank you for the great experience.
