About Sid McDonald

I am a ski instrutor at Homewood and live close by the cabin most of the time. I love Lake Tahoe and enjoy all the seasons.

Sid McDonald purchased this cabin in 1980

Why Sid McDonald chose Lake Tahoe West Shore CA

The West Shore is the Best Shore. Visitors love the remodeled and enhanced cabin located in the woods but close to the beach. Enjoy the most exclusive area of Lake Tahoe without the high price tag. Appliances are updated, and the feeling of the cabin is rustic but very comfortable. The large patio deck has a b-b-que, sauna and new deck furniture so you can relax after a day of SUP.

We are located just 1.2 miles south of Sunnyside Resort and Restaurant and Homewood ski area is 2.5 miles to the south. Tahoe City is also a short 3.5 mile ride away on bike or in car. And the beach, Hurricane Bay, it is the quietest part of Lake Tahoe.

The "Round the Lake" bike trail is 200 yards away, Blackwood Canyon and Kaspian are 1/4 miles to the south, and access to the PCM and Tahoe Rim Trail are also very close as well.

We simply have the best location!!!

What makes this cabin unique

There is also a newly built Pickleball court! Pickleball is a fun game that is all the rage in Tahoe with courts sprouting up everywhere, including Squaw Valley. It's the perfect game for 2 or for the whole family!

This location is the perfect getaway for fun and relaxation. This cabin is "Tahoe relaxing" yet close to it all. The summers are fantastic and the winters are wonderful. The cabin is quiet, secluded and convenient. The perfect vacation!

The cozy cabin exudes old Tahoe charm. It is close to all the Lake has to offer yet far enough away to be completely secluded and quiet. You can rent SUPs at Sunnyside Resort which is just 1.2 miles north toward Tahoe City. You can walk 200 yards to the Hurricane Bay Beach and enjoy a cocktail sunset. And if you have a dog, the beach does allow dogs, one of only a few in Tahoe that does.

The perfect Tahoe cabin, the pine smell in the air with easy access to Lake Tahoe

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I as well as our extended family wanted a quiet, secluded yet Lake accessible cabin to visit in Lake Tahoe.

We rented this well located cabin and we were pleasantly surprised at the large feeling of this quaint Tahoe cabin nestled in the woods yet within walking distance to the Lake and bike trail.

The beds were comfortable, the smell in the air was of pine needles, we looked at both the Lake and the forest. Our kids enjoyed the outdoor space, we were safely away from any traffic. The cabin was very clean when we arrived and we were met by a wonderful property agent who helped us immediately with any questions during our stay for one week.

We never knew about the Blackwood/Kaspian Canyon area just down the street from the cabin. It was a wonderful resource of hiking and biking off the busy road, I doubt we would have every found it if we did not stay at this cabin.

We highly recommend this cabin, we will return next year.
