Overview

About the property

Charming & Comfortable Lighthouse Inspired 3 bedroom Lakefront home

Come visit our peaceful, fun and family friendly retreat on Lime Lake in stunning Leelanau County, Michigan. Recently voted one of the world's most beautiful places, Leelanau County is known for its idyllic countryside, lakes, beaches, roadside fruit stands and beautiful scenery.

We are pleased to welcome you to our waterfront, Lighthouse inspired home. Nestled at the end of a private road on emerald green Lime Lake, the water is gin clear with depths suitable for wading and swimming (12-24 inches). The water reaches into the high 70 degree temperatures in the Summer. Bring your water toys and enjoy the fishing, tubing, skiing or a sunset cruise. Or relax in the sun, read and soak up the sounds of Michigan. We have a newly installed dock with a 12 x 10 foot platform at the end. There is a deck at the house that faces the lake and a firepit by the water's edge to roast marshmallows or sit by as you view the spectacular stars.

The house is extremely comfortable with a great room, open kitchen and dining area, family room loft and 3 bedrooms (King, Queen and 2 Twin over Full bunks). You can even view most of Lime Lake (and beyond) from our very own look out tower. We have two bathrooms (shower upstairs, tub/shower down) - one in the master suite upstairs and one shared downstairs.

Near miles of pristine Lake Michigan beaches on the National Lakeshore and situated almost halfway between Leland and Glen Arbor Michigan (off M-22), our home is the perfect spot for your family's vacation. We are surrounded by Sleeping Bear National Park with hiking trails, tennis, and skiing/snowmobiling in the winter months. If you are a golfer, enjoy the Manitou Passage Golf Club, an Arnold Palmer course, that is only 1/2 mile from the house.

It is a quick 25-30 minutes to Traverse City (and TC airport) where you can shop, take a sail on a Tall Ship, see a movie, attend one of its many summer festivals, have dinner or simply stroll along its main street. The Interlochen Academy for the Arts with its world renowned music and theater performances is also nearby. Michigan is becoming well known for its wineries, with more than two dozen local wineries nearby.

You will not run out of ways to relax or things to do at our special retreat.

Idyllic retreat

  • 5 of 5

We loved this beautiful home. We were there with young grandkids who loved the lookout tower, the lawn swing, the inflatable kayaks and the clear water for swimming.

The adults enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, the nice layout of the house with room for inflatable mattresses in the game loft. It was so nice to have the large space for eating. We had 10 people at some point and everyone could sit at the table or the counter for a meal. The master bedroom and bathroom were so spacious and with the big windows, there is a nice breeze...great for sleeping.

We enjoyed exploring the area, from Glen Arbor to Northport, to canoeing on the Platte River, to climbing the sand dunes and Pyramid Point.

This house is clean and the owner is so easy to work with. He responded to any questions within hours. I highly recommend this place!! We will definitely consider coming back!

We had an amazing experience at Lime Lake House

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely fell in love with this house and the atmosphere! Beautiful private beach with crystal clean water and amazing sunsets! Outdoor sitting made it perfect to relax and enjoy beautiful weather. Fire pit made our evenings so romantic and peaceful! The house is very cozy, clean and nice! Within a short drive we were able to get to pyramid point, fish town, sleeping bear dunes and wineries.

We absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants to explore breathtaking Michigan. We will certainly be back!

Lime Lake Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This place was amazing! It was everything we could have asked for, the house was amazing, plenty of room for all of us, the location was perfect. Communication with the owner excellent as well! Definitely would stay here again! The central location was perfect, close to Leland, Sutton's Bay, Sleeping Bear, Glen Arbor, a short drive to Traverse City as well. Very quiet location too, we saw two bald eagles one morning, a gorgeous rainbow another morning....wish I was still there!!!

The Lighthouse was a great base for our family vacation to Leelanau

  • 4 of 5

We spent a week here and enjoyed it from the moment we arrived when our kids ran to the end of the dock and saw the clear water and then explored the top of the lighthouse. The sleeping arrangements in the bunk room worked well for our four young kids. And we enjoyed a few game nights together in the cozy loft. We appreciated the number of water toys and activities (horse shoes, kayaks, bats/balls, etc.) available for the kids. The location at the end of the quiet street suited us well -- great base for some nice running in the area. We grilled out nearly every night. A campfire at the water's edge watching the stars was a highlight of ours. Great proximity to Sleeping Dunes, Leland, the big waves at Empire, and Moomers! The owners were very attentive to our needs, requests and provided good communication. --Minnesota family of six

Great Time on Lime Lake

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time on Lime Lake. What a beautiful place. The weather was great. The grandkids had a lot of fun and didn't want to leave. They loved the water and swimming.

Thanks so much for allowing us to rent your place. We made a lot of memories that our grandkids will have for a lifetime.
