Beautiful, peaceful relaxation
We had a fabulous stay in this lovely home in beautiful country. The interior is just as pictured. Neat, clean , uncluttered. We spent our days exploring the immediate area as well as visiting Zion and Bryce Canyon. Coming back to this comfortable place was a perfect way to end our days. The kitchen is fully stocked with all needed utensils, tools, etc., including crockpot. We mostly used the grill for dinners which was great. Decent selection of games for evening fun. The TV is nice sized but we never used it. Washer and dryer very convenient as we flew in so were able to just take carry on. Suggestions for others: Have 4 wheel drive. We easily accessed the property without it but were not able to explore some areas nearby without it, particularly at the end of April. For the owners: Explicit directions once one enters Duck Creek Village and a small sign on the road would make finding the property much less frustrating, particularly as we arrived late at night, very tired. Overall, great place, highly recommend it and we will rent it again if we get to this part of the country.
Great Family Cabin Get Away!
Cabin was in a great location and had lots of great activities to enjoy while relaxing! We'd love to stay here again!
Great! So fun and relaxing!
This cabin was awesome to stay in with lots of indoor and outdoor space. It was clean and comfortable. We had a great time playing in the snow and driving our ATVs around.
Absolutely wonderful! Coming back again!
We had a wonderful time at this cabin! We have come here before and just love it! It is a true log cabin and I feel like I am in a rustic lodge with all of the authentic decorations. The little details make it feel so cozy! The cabin has everything that we needed to cook (it’s a fully stocked kitchen, including baking and cupcake pans) and there was lots to do to be entertained - both inside and outside of the cabin. We love to visit Mammoth Caves, Cascade falls, and the Ice Caves when we are up here. They are very close by and completely worth going to. The cabin is perfectly setup to play in the snow with the walk out basement. My kids loved playing in the snow and being able to sled on the property. We highly recommend renting this cabin. It is our absolute favorite and we will be coming back again this summer!
Do not recommend staying here!
Unless you don’t mind being watched by cameras and having the owner remotely control the heat settings and alarm, I highly recommend finding another cabin to rent. No where does this property disclose on the rental description that there are cameras on the premises. Vrbo policy also requires homeowners to disclose if there are cameras and when we filed a complaint that we were not informed of the cameras, they did not seem to care. The cameras made our stay very uncomfortable and we felt as if someone was watching and listening to us the entire stary. There is also a few locked doors to other rooms in the cabin. We were able to see one through a window and noticed a room within a room with computers for the cameras. Also, this cabin has a MICE problem!!!! We found a chewed up hole in the bag of rice we had left on the kitchen counter and also could hear the mice moving around in the walls at night while sleeping. Furthermore, we decided to take a walk around the neighborhood one afternoon, and after a few minutes of leaving we noticed a vehicle driving quickly into the driveway of the cabin. Later when we returned to the cabin, the house alarm that we armed before leaving was now disarmed which led us to believe that someone entered the cabin when we were gone. This is our 4th consecutive year renting a cabin in the area and this is the first cabin we rented that had cameras, an alarm system and a laundry list of rules. When you rent a cabin in the mountains you hope for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. Unfortunately we did not get that experience during at stay. We will never rent this cabin again. There are many amazing cabins in Duck Creek in the same price range - and many of which are newer / updated. I hope this helps. I wish someone would have written a similar review to give us a heads up before booking this cabin.
Will, thanks for taking the time to let us know about your stay. We are very sorry to hear about the issues you encountered - your experience does not reflect the guest experience we strive to create. We and the homeowner greatly value your privacy - there are external cameras on the property to remotely monitor the snow levels in the winter and for security while the cabin is unoccupied. Additionally, the alarm system includes SmartHome features, which manage the temperature automatically while the cabin is vacant. We are working with the homeowner to include more detailed instructions so as to avoid the confusing situation you experienced for future guests. As with all mountain cabins, it is not uncommon for mice or chipmunks to try to find a way indoors. The homeowners work diligently to avoid infestations, and utilized a removal service immediately after your stay. Thank you for your feedback and for giving us an opportunity to create a better experience for future guests. Best, The Evolve Team
