About Paula

We moved from Anchorage, Alaska after 26 years and craved the outdoor experiences we were used to finding in the last frontier.

Bend had it all-road cycling, mountain biking, nordic skiing, back-country skiing, hiking, not to mention a scenic setting!

Now relocated in Bend, we spend most of our time on the trails and enjoying our Oregon roots.

Paula purchased this house in 2011

Why Paula chose Bend

When we started looking in Bend, we wanted to be in walking distance from coffee shops, restaurants and close to downtown. We also wanted a genuine bungalow with classic charm. This double lot has trees surrounding the house and even though it's close in, there's a serene peaceful feel.

After years of owning an architectural Millwork shop, Bill went to work restoring the 100 yr. old bungalow and reclaiming it's original charm.

Cozy house close in was incredible

  • 5 of 5

We loved our 2 night stay in this lovely bungalow.

Cozy living room with gas fireplace to sit around and watch a movie at night, but best of all a lovely outdoor space to have our coffee in the morning and lounge in the afternoon sun.

Would highly recommend

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived, we could walk everywhere! The house is super cozy, the beds are good too, which is rare in my experience. The house has everything you need, I will most definitely be coming back. Paula was very good at communicating to make sure we got in, as we arrived fairly late, she even turned the lights on for our late arrival. Loved it!

Charming cottage close to downtown

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cottage home in downtown Bend! 4 adults stayed here for 3 nights quite comfortably. The house has all the amenities you could need during your stay and was quiet and relaxing. There is an upstairs lofted bedroom that is quite spacious, which offered to privacy (would be great if you have kids). Overall, we had a wonderful time and the owner, Paula, was very communicative and helpful.

Really enjoyed this home -- sorry we couldn't stay longer. Lost a day on either end due to weather.

Character, location, comfortable...

  • 5 of 5

Very clean, well furnished and close to all the action. We loved our stay and will likely try and book this rental again in the future. Walking distance to parks, restaurants, grocery stores etc. The house is really charming with very nice decor and the yard is very impressive. Considering the location and overall quality of the rental, we felt it was a great value.

Super location

  • 5 of 5

The house is a very nicely restored bungalow and very relaxing with a small living room where you can visit or watch a game on tv. It also has a nice deck and small backyard. The only drawback at all (and it's minor) is that the bathroom doesn't have a fan. The location is awesome as you can easily walk to downtown through Drake Park or to Galveston Ave. which also has lots of great places to eat and drink at. Once we got there we never used the car.
