About Brent

The Kandahar was one of the first condos built in Taos Ski Valley. The homeowners come from several states and all with varied backgrounds but all share a love for the mountains.

Brent purchased this condo in 1967

Why Brent chose New Mexico

The location of the Kandahar can sometimes be a little daunting but we have a staff that will be able to help you get settled into your condo if needed. Once settled in you can relax by the fire after a great day of skiing and not need to worry about driving to the Ski Valley after a snowstorm.

What makes this condo unique

The Kandahar much like Taos Ski Valley is unique and unpretentious. We have several homeowners which we refer to as 'originals' who have had condos here since the Kandahar was built. All of our homeowners have enjoyed watching their children, grandchildren ,and now a few great-grandchildren learning and enjoying Taos Ski Valley.

Great Stay, Lovely Condo

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in building 4, condo 22. The pictures do not do this charming place justice. It's roomy, great decor, and very clean! The owner, Brent, was quite helpful and gave us Texans advice for handling the altitude.

The location was great. We had a lovely view from the balcony, we were minutes from great hiking, walking distance to shops and restaurants, and there was a ski lift at the entrance to the condos.

We went in the summer, so our trip was more about hiking up the nearby William's Peak. It is an easy trail, but if you aren't used to the altitude, it's pretty vigorous. Wild Rivers National Monument is less than an hour drive and is almost as amazing as the Grand Canyon I said almost because it isn't as vast, but it is beautiful, and not crowded.

Tips about the condo itself: The condo number may also be called 122, but look for a sign for 22 instead. Arrive while there's day light. It's not bad driving, but will be easier if you do. There are cool mist humidifiers (thanks for those!) in the closets. There are board games in a table in the living room and cards in the dining room that the kids enjoyed during the off time.
