About the property

Modern 1 Bedroom w/King bed & Sofa Sleeper, Sleeps 4 - 55” HDTV, WA/DR, Fireplc

This 650 sq. ft., remodeled, top-floor, one bedroom apartment has stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, a sleek gas fireplace, and a washer and dryer in the apartment. It is located in a classic mid-century modern building (1955) and has a private entrance off of the safe, well-lit, garden space that also features a shared deck and gas grill. The building is located on a quiet residential street in North Capitol Hill. It is a short walk to the Link Light Rail, the business district on 15th Ave. E, and the business district on Broadway. It is only two blocks south of the renowned Olmstead-designed Volunteer Park with its beautiful green-space, art museum, and conservatory. The four-plex shares this desirable neighborhood with million dollar mansions yet is conveniently located just blocks from restaurants, coffee shops, pubs and grocery stores. Our Walkscore is 91% which means that the very best of Seattle is at your doorstep. Within a few blocks you can access frequent and convenient bus service to Downtown Seattle, Pike Place Market, Seattle Center Space Needle, Pike-Pine Urban Corridor, International District, Seattle University, University of Washington and other tourist destinations. The neighborhood's walkability, the accessibility to public transportation (Bus and Light Rail,) together with Uber and Lyft make this apartment a very convenient location from which to see Seattle.

THIS LIGHT-FILLED, TOP-FLOOR APARTMENT features a sunny south-facing outlook over the courtyard garden. The apartment is 650 square feet with one bedroom, one bathroom, living room, dining room, and kitchen. The apartment has a sleek, modern, gas fireplace that serves as the focal point for the open concept living and dining rooms and provides both heat and ambiance. The living room features modern, comfortable furnishings such as a Queen Sofa Sleeper, a 55” Smart HDTV, DVD player, and free WIFI. The remodeled kitchen offers quartz countertops, stainless-steel appliances (fridge, stove, microwave, and dishwasher) and is well-stocked with cookery, dishes, spices, coffee & tea. A washer/dryer is located in the apartment and laundry supplies are provided. The bedroom has a king-size bed with a high-quality memory foam mattress, 400 thread count sheets, down comforter, spacious closet and full-length mirror. The updated bathroom has a full size tub and shower, plenty of plush towels, body soap and shampoo, a hair dryer, and an iron/ironing board.

A designated, off-street parking is available upon request for an additional charge. Many of our guests elect to visit without a car but if you plan to have one we recommend that you reserve the parking space because the street parking is restricted.

This apartment can accommodate 4 people. If you are travelling with a larger group please inquire about our other two apartments in the same building. They are very similar in size, quality, and can also accommodate 4 people each.

Please take some time to read our reviews and learn more about the quality of our apartments and the service we provide. Mark and I are frequent VRBO travelers and are committed to creating a pleasant and relaxing rental experience for you so that you can focus on enjoying this beautiful city.

About Stephen and Mark

Stephen and Mark have been friends for almost 20 years and business partners since 2009 when they bought this mid-century modern building, remodeled it, and made it available for business and vacation travelers. They picked this neighborhood because each lives nearby and they find Capitol Hill to be one of the most interesting, vibrant, and well-located neighborhoods in Seattle. They think that you will enjoy the quiet, comfortable, modern apartments and their proximity to the fun attractions nearby on the Hill, downtown, and the Pike/Pine corridor. Together they manage the apartments and will do whatever they can to help provide you with a comfortable and memorable stay in Seattle.

Beautiful, well-equipped and great location!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second stay in the same building though previously we had the unit on the ground floor. We found this one better placed and with much better WiFi signal, the only (and minor) complaint we really had about being in the lower apartment. Otherwise, it comes with everything you might need, including laundry which is a great factor when travelling with a young child. Unlike last time, we made good use of the fireplace which really helped to warm up the living room during the cold spell here in the Pacific Northwest. As always, Capitol Hill is a great area to be in, very convenient for downtown via car or public transit, and with good restaurants, grocery stores and coffee shops aplenty to choose from. Finally, Stephen came out to greet us when we arrived which was a nice touch. Overall, great place and hope to be back again soon!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your repeat business and for taking the time to share your experience. Mark and I travel a great deal and so we appreciate the importance of fast and reliable internet service when you are on the road. We recently learned through guest comments and reviews that the internet speed was unacceptable. In response, we worked with our internet provider to ensure that our internet package is the fasted they provide; we acquired the most current modem available; we upgraded our router to a new Netgear Orbi; and we regularly test internet speeds in each of our apartments to learn if there are connectivity or speed issues. These changes appear to have significantly improved the internet experience for our guests.

Fantastic as always.

I have stayed here several times and will continue coming back. Can't beat the location and the unit is so very comfortable and has everything one could want for a short stay or an extended holiday. Stephen and Mark are extremely responsive to help make one's stay comfortable. I highly recommend booking one of the two upper units if possible...I have stayed in both and they are great.

Cozy & quaint

  • 5 of 5

This place was exactly as it was described by Stephen and Mark. Getting to this place was an uber ride or light rail ride away. It was a very cute little gem literally in the heart of Capitol Hill, making it very easy accessible to restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops etc. we took an uber the majority of the time we wanted to visit somewhere further than walking distance. Everything was in working condition, wall heaters worked great and the gas fireplace definitely was an added plus as it did snow one day we were there. They had everything ready and clean when we got there. The kitchen sink was alittle confusing as we didn't know if the hot water worked but eventually we figured it out. Other than that it was a very comfortable stay! Thank you for letting us stay! Will definitely consider once we visit again.

Comfortable and Inviting! Lots of perfect amenities.

  • 5 of 5

Stephen and Mark have updated this Capitol Hill apartment to provide a very clean, inviting and homey atmosphere. The pictures we saw on VRBO before our arrival look just like the apartment when we arrived. We loved our 5 night stay!! It was perfect for us as our children also have apartments on Capitol Hill. We were in walking distance of both of their places. Our stay was during Thanksgiving, so we did some side dish prep in the kitchen which we found to be large and very functional. The appliances are new and user friendly. The large flat screen TV entertained some of our family in front of the cozy fireplace while others cooked. The coded entry worked so smooth. The stack-able washer and dryer were so large (and new) - which was a pleasant surprise! The bed, bedding, linens and pull out couch were comfortable and we rested well. Thank goodness they were thoughtful enough to leave a compact umbrella on the coat rack by the door (because the one we packed broke) - and it was used a couple of the days we were walking to the bus stop! We found the city bus stop only 2 blocks away which took us on a short 10 minute ride downtown to all the fun Thanksgiving/Christmas activities in the beautiful city of Seattle. Oh and if you have access to a car (we borrowed one that belongs to our children) we recommend paying the 9$/day for the parking spot right in front of the building. It was SO convenient and easy!! We would definitely book this city apartment again!! Thank you Stephen and Mark!!
