We're close to McCormick Place Convention Center, Hyde Park and many museums, including the Museum of Science and Industry. Jackson Park golf course is a couple blocks away, the only 18-hole course in the city and recently purchased by Tiger Woods. There’s also a new installation and art piece just finished by Yoko Ono in the park space near 63rd and Cornell.
Rent a bike with Chicago's Divvy bike rental program just a block away and see it all. Take Chicago's Metra train into the city with just a short one-block walk and 10 minute train ride.
The 63rd Street Metra train station is two blocks away and can take you anywhere in the city. Hyde Park is two stops away, McCormick Center 6 stops, downtown Chicago 7 stops, Museum district 8 stops, Millennium and Grant Parks 9 stops.
Chicago's bike rental system, Divvy, has a bike station one block away that will rent bicycles by the hour or day. Use these to travel to local beaches, around The University of Chicago campus or along Chicago's miles of lake shore bike and running paths. The lake shore is only a couple min bike ride away.
Uber and Lyft are always available and a very cost effective and convenient way to get around.
The most convenient way to arrive at the house from O'Hare or Midway is by taxi, Uber or Lyft services. Uber and Lyft will always be cheaper and you can follow the directions from either app, once at the airport for pickup locations, at the airport. From O'Hare it's usually $20-$65. From Midway it's usually $10-$30. These rates depend on time of day and if you're using pool or not
If you're traveling by train from O'Hare you will follow the signs at the airport to get on the Blue Line to the city, travel 17 stops (approx 40min,) get off at Washington, walk 5 min to Millennium Station Metra train line traveling South, travel 6 stops (approx 15min,) get off at 63rd Street South Shore Line and walk 5 min to the house. If you're traveling by train from Midway Airport, it is the same steps except you will take the Orange Line to the city, 7 stops (approx 15min,) get off at Roosevelt, walk 5 min to Museum Campus/11th St Metra train line traveling South, travel 8 stops (approx 10min,) get off at 63rd Street South Shore Line, walk 5 min to the house.
