About Margaret Pigott

When we are not in New Orleans we live and work in Jackson, Mississippi.

My husband is a lawyer and I'm a school librarian/cellist.

Our oldest son is a piano player living in New Orleans and the younger son lives in New York and loves to come visit us in NOLA as often as he can.

Margaret Pigott purchased this house in 2012

Why Margaret Pigott chose Central City/Garden District

We love the location especially. We walk everywhere and when we want to go to the quarter we can easily walk to the trolley to avoid parking hassles.

We fell in love with this house when we first saw it. It's large enough for a family reunion and yet cozy enough for the two of us and our dog.

What makes this house unique

The FRERET STREET entertainment area is one block away!!!

The restaurants are awesome and you will feel like a local just hanging out day or night.

Excellent location!! Comfortable neighborhood with restaurants, etc. Close to public transportatio.

There were 7 of us celebrating our 50th birthdays! This beautiful home was perfect for us. 3 bathrooms made it easy for 7 women to get ready for all our activities. Never ran out of hot water and all showers were great!

3 bedrooms plus the living room gave us ample sleeping space. All beds were super comfy(queen, 2 twins, 2 sleeper sofas). The bedrooms are also far enough away & well insulated for plenty of privacy. The kitchen/dining area was fantastic for planning our day over coffee. The kitchen is also well equipped, we did cook at least one meal a day.

Front porch was also a wonderful gathering place for us and all neighbors were very friendly. Back deck was not very useable to us because of rain and became very slick from mold(we have this issue in GA) so we knew to be careful!

Magazine St was easily accessible by a little over mile walk or Uber, perfect for a bite to eat outside of French quarter.

Very close walk to St Charles to watch parades or catch street car. Also, Freret bus comes right by house to take you to the warehouse district (great restaurants) or French quarter @ Canal.

Overall, we couldn't have picked a better place. The location was close enough to enjoy all NOLA had to offer, but far enough away to enjoy the quiet, comfort of a local neighborhood. Walks were made even more enjoyable by the phenomenal architecture.

Margaret was so easy & pleasurable to work with, very accommodating and quick to respond!!

Would absolutely stay here again and recommend to friends!

Thank you!!!!!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much Beth for this glowing review! I try to imagine potential renters searching through a multitude of listings and then finding our house. I wish I could enable some sort of pop up message saying something like "Congratulations.... you've found our New Orleans home!" Beth, your review conveys what we love most about our home and we are so grateful to be able to share it with wonderful folks like you. I do hope you and your friends will come back soon. Happy Mardi Gras! Margaret

Good size house for 4 or more guests.

  • 4 of 5

House was very clean and well equipped. Comfy beds with nice linens and fluffy towels for showers. Owner responded quickly when a minor electrical issue was noted. Quiet neighborhood and easy parking on the street. We would certainly reserve this house again for future visits to New Orleans. Thanks Margaret. Susan & Mike Beech 🇨🇦 Living in Cozumel 🇲🇽

Love living like the locals

  • 5 of 5

This is such a quaint home to stay at. We loved living like the locals. We were able to walk to several restaurant locations for any meal. The upscale market was a quick drive, to stock up on the essentials. This home offered plenty of space to relax and enjoy the New Orleans experience. We would recommend to anyone. Margaret was a pleasure to work with. We look forward to returning to the Big Easy for future visits.

Better than what I expected

  • 5 of 5

There were 6 of us that stayed at the house and it was perfect for us. We loved the charm of this house. It was much better than staying at a hotel. This was our first time using HomeAway and we definitely will use it again.
