About Margaret Pigott
When we are not in New Orleans we live and work in Jackson, Mississippi. My husband is a lawyer and I'm a school librarian/cellist. Our oldest son is a piano player living in New Orleans and the younger son lives in New York and loves to come visit us in NOLA as often as he can.
Margaret Pigott purchased this House in 2012
Why Margaret Pigott chose Milan
We love the location especially. We walk everywhere and when we want to go to the quarter we can easily walk to the trolley to avoid parking hassles. We fell in love with this house when we first saw it. It's large enough for a family reunion and yet cozy enough for the two of us and our dog.
What makes this House unique
The FRERET STREET entertainment area is one block away!!! The restaurants are awesome and you will feel like a local just hanging out day or night.

Great place to stay
We had a wonderful time and the home was perfect; it had a lot of warmth and character. No complaints. The location is a nice walking distance to Freret street restaurants and coffee places. Thumbs up for high hat, humble bagel, and Dat Dog! The house’s kitchen was perfect for the meals we prepared. Really comfy couch for just chillin’ out. Nice neighborhood also. We never had trouble finding a parking spot...usually right in front of the home.
Comfortable house - Nice Location
Our family had a great time ! We were comfortable and getting around town was easy .
Can I Give It A Hundred Stars?
I can't say enough about *our* New Orleans home. My three adult kids, one son-out-law (they’re not married) and I spent three and a half glorious days here and loved every second of our stay. The house is beautiful and so, so comfortable (the beds rival the best five star hotels). The lovely kitchen is a great place to congregate, drink, and tell lies. The living room is great for leisure time and has a wonderful library with loads of books specific to New Orleans. Sit on the front porch and enjoy neighbors waving as they walk by. The location is a quick walk to wonderful restaurants on Freret Street or the St. Charles streetcar. It’s a quick Uber ride to the French Quarter and beyond. Beautiful polished wood floors are perfect for skating in your socks. Book this home; you’ll be so glad you did. WARNING: The place is so comfortable, you might end up hanging around and missing some planned activities. (Don’t worry though; the leisure time here is totally worth it.) Margaret is delightful to work with and is always quick to return an email. Thank you, Margaret, for sharing your lovely home with us. We had a blast and hope to return.
Charming and comfortable space
We truly enjoyed our stay at Margaret’s place. The place is charming with traditional New Orleans style architecture. They have an awesome book collection, great taste! Place was spacious and very comfortable for 6 of us. The place was clean and Margaret was very responsive. It’s a little far from French Quarter if that’s what you are looking for. Otherwise, there are tons of restaurants within walking distance. Will definitely stay again, if we visit New Orleans.
Mardi Gras stay
It was very nice and felt like home. Will be coming back next year !
Margaret is the best!!!!
Beautiful place. Great location. Although the weather (snow/ice storm of the decade) put a damper on things, Margaret (landlord) went out of her way to help make the best of it. We'll be back when we can stay longer. Can't say thanks enough. Danny from North Carolina.
Danny - you guys were great!
Please come back again and I’ll try my best to get the weather to be perfect. You know I would if I could!!!
