We invite you to get away from it all at Rambo Farm in Goshen, Virginia! Our circa 1840 farmhouse was remodeled in 1910 and features various updates since. The house is located on a 100 acre working farm with long river frontage. Bring your friends and enjoy 4 bedrooms (all with double beds), a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, parlor, and one bath. This is the perfect location to enjoy relaxing, hiking, fishing, and kayaking. Because of our location in a remote river valley, there is no cell phone reception.
From the minute we drove up to the property we were so impressed with the beauty we saw. We came with our three young adult kids for a few days of fun. The house is wonderfully situated along a tree lined drive way. The front porch allowed some of us to have quiet times with nature, taking in the beauty around us. The house was perfect- we had space to spend time together and the bedrooms were spacious. You could spend alone time in your room if you wanted. Our boys spent time fishing on the river and we enjoyed seeing the mountainside.
We will be back again. The owners were lovely, kind people. Seeing the horses, chickens and cows on the farm were an extra treat. The house came equipped with everything you need.
We can't say enough about this place except to urge you to see it. You will enjoy the solitude and the fresh air. We didn't miss the wifi. A great time and my kids say it was one of the best vacations we've spent together.
Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your wonderful place with us.

Very peaceful stay. Like a step back in time. Loved the opportunity to visit the farm house, a piece of history and wake up to the cows in the field and the chickens in the yard. The kayaks were a plus! Very polite hosts who made sure se had everything we needed during the stay!
Our family met for a week at Rambo Farm. It was truly a slice of heaven. We loved the farmhouse - charming, full of light, good kitchen, large dining room, laundry, everything we needed. We enjoyed kayaking the river, fishing, hiking, playing bocce ball and frisbee, enjoying the breeze on the porch, sitting around the fire outside, and eating at the picnic table. At night the fireflies were amazing. We enjoyed the magic of standing on the bridge watching the fireflies and their reflection in the river along with the myriad of stars above.
Sandy and John were wonderful hosts, providing kayaks, paddles and life vests as well as the best eggs we have ever tasted. I highly recommend Rambo Farm!
My 11-year-old daughter and I came to Rambo Farm for a weekend getaway, and it was a perfect setting to just chill out and enjoy each other's company. We spent hours on the porch reading, talking, watching the chickens and horses, and playing with Nip, one of the barn cats. Sandy and John are extremely responsive, helpful, and friendly. The house is beautifully updated, comfortable, and well kept.
Having mountain bikes available to ride up the hills behind the property was great. We would have kayaked, but the river was too high from all the recent rain. If you're looking for a place nearby to do a trail ride, I recommend Appalachian Horse Adventures over in Montebello. It's a bit of a drive (about an hour), but they're great.
Rambo Farm was an ideal getaway just three hours from DC. Next time we'll bring the whole family.
Thanks, Sandy and John, for the use of your beautiful home and your hospitality.
The Owner are really Helpful and Nice people and help you with your needs and they have kayak and Bikes to ride and Farm house has good Barbecue and Fire Place also there are good Trails for walking. Overall Stay was Pleasant and Good
Rambo Farm is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy. This lovely, comfortable home has a most beautiful setting that must be experienced to truly appreciate its beauty. It is on a curvy, bubbling river in a fertile, picturesque valley with mountains in front and behind. My favorite place might be the porch, where the furniture is more comfortable than you can imagine and the perfect place for drinks and relaxing. Horses, cows and chickens beckon you, adding to the beauty and allure of this home.
The house is very well equipped with a comfortable, large kitchen that is a joy to cook in. There are multiple options for dining, including a shaded picnic table and picnicking by the river in addition to the large dining table and kitchen table. The bathroom is large, bright and accommodating. The beds are very comfortable. All was very clean and pleasant. Easy access to hiking, cycling, river sports and the George Washington National Forest.
