Why Ethelind Knight-Schwartz chose Monomoy
My father built this house in 1950, and three generations have enjoyed summers in it. We would like to share this special place with you too.

House Cute, Space Nice, Appliances Not So Much
We enjoyed the house and it's living space. It was described as sort of stuck in the 50/60s and that was true. It was clean and had a nice yard. However, it is not so great to have the appliances stuck in the 50s. Dishwasher and oven did not work. Stove top had a burner disconnected when we arrived for which we were blamed. Coffee pot was difficult to turn on and had to be unplugged to be turned off. A mixed bag for sure.
The stove has been checked and the missing burner has been replaced. A new dishwasher is on order. I do not know what the issue was with the coffee maker as next tenant has had no problems with it. We try very hard to make our home a comfortable, equipped and functioning place to stay.

great value for nantucket!
We stayed at this classic Nantucket cottage last summer, and loved it so much that we returned again this year. It is a prime location, in Monomoy, with a path that leads down to a small beach on Nantucket Harbor - with magnificent views! The cottage is spacious, and is very comfortable. The location is ideal - you can bike to town, or take the Wave bus if you are on the island without a car. It is quiet and private, with lots of towels, fresh linens, books, games, beach chairs, etc. The owner is delightful, and we are planning to rent again next summer.
Perfect! We will be back
Truly a wonderful experience. This was our first trip to Nantucket as a family and we were impressed with the island and the house. Within second of arriving to the house we all said we should have stayed longer and how soon can we come back! Thank you for providing an affordable option on the island. The house is clean, stocked, and spacious. Perfect for a family, the set up provides plenty of privacy. The location was great, rent bikes! The owner was responsive and nice!
Wonderful Nantucket Cottage
This cottage is so charming, we can't wait to return! The house had everything we needed and more. The location in Monomoy is beautiful and conveniently close to town as well. We loved sunsets at the harbor beach just down the path. The owner was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We hope to return again soon!
Nantucket has something for everyone. There are a variety of beaches from calm to surf. The calm waters and amenities of Jetties and Children's Beach are ideal for families with small children. Those looking for more wave action will enjoy the beach at Surfside and surfing at Cisco.
The island is rich in history as it was once one of the busiest whaling seaports on the east coast. The whaling museum provides an excellent overview of this time period. Walking along Nantucket's cobbled stone streets with it's beautiful buildings takes you back to that time period.
The island has many unique and interesting shops and antique stores. When walking down Straight Wharf you can see beautiful yachts and large sailing vessels. There you can also take a nautical excursion - sailing on the Endevor, a critter cruise on the Monomy, or sport fishing on the Herbert T. You can also pick up a tour bus on this wharf.
There are numerous restaurants on Nantucket. From the very casual at Jetties Beach where you can watch the sunset, to a more formal dining at Toppers in Wauwinet or The Brant Point Grill at The White Elephant.
Whatever you choose to do on your vacation on Nantucket, I'm sure it will be enjoyable and memorable.
