When we bought our home in 2000, we were newly married and excited about living in the hip Highland Square neighborhood. Sadly, we outgrew our charming first home with the addition of our two boys. We've always loved this house and its location, and we are excited to share it with you.

Denver has been our home since 1994. It has gone through many changes over these years, but it still has a small town feel while offering world class arts, sports, and entertainment.
Walking distance to local restaurants and businesses--you can leave your car safely parked at the house. Cozy and charming with enough space for everyone to spread out. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon/evening glass of wine on the front porch with views of the city and the mountains.
we really enjoyed the home. my grandson really enjoyed all the books, games and toys that were provided!!
We found the property to be fairly comfortable for a family stay. We had four adults and a kid in our group. The house has toys and books for all ages and the dining table was great for meals. It was an easy walk to several restaurants and shopping. We were also able to walk to Sloan's Lake and enjoy a sunset and the view of the mountains. The beds were comfortable and we had plenty of pillows and blankets. The swamp cooler made the upstairs bedroom really cold, so we needed those! The only reasons I wouldn't give it five stars are that we thought it could be cleaner (we found trash under some of the beds, etc.) and the kitchen was missing a few key prep items for me--the most important one being a colander. We also would have liked another bathroom for that many people, but we knew there was only one when we booked. Bob was also very accommodating by allowing us to check in early. I would recommend Highlands Cottage for anyone wanting an place close to Mile High Stadium or Highlands Square.
My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this property! The upstairs bed was super comfortable, and our kids really enjoyed the toys that were available for them to play with! It is in very close proximity to everything downtown Denver has to offer. The owner was also very helpful when issues arose. If my family and I return to Denver, we will definitely consider staying in the Highlands Cottage again!
The house was exactly as described. Clean, comfortable, and nice and cool upon our arrival on a 100 degree day. Parking was easy, with quick access to highways. Our day in the Rockies was fantastic - the views amazing!! The YMCA of the Rockies is a great place for a beautiful, reasonable horseback ride. Ice cream at the the Sweet Cow a short walk from the house was worth the wait!!
We had a great stay at the Highlands Cottage. The house was perfect for our family, the kitchen had everything we needed, and we loved walking to different restaurants. Our only complaint is that it was HOT. The house has a swamp cooler, which did cool the house down at night. I imagine it would be effective if the temperature was in the 80s during the day. Unfortunately for us, it hit 100 twice during our week there. The high temps were just no match for the swamp cooler. We had it running constantly and opened only the windows where we wanted the cool air to go (as directed by the owner.) It still was in the 80s in the house (the highest we saw was 86 at 10 pm one evening.) Two of the bedrooms had ceiling fans which helped as the temps dropped at night. Still, during the day and evening, the house was way too warm. I went and bought a fan at Walmart to put in the living room so we could sit and watch the Copa games without sweating. We left it there so hopefully some other people get relief. Bob was responsive to our needs; however, the swamp cooler isn't the same thing as AC. Outside of the summer months, I'd highly recommend this house. In the summer months, beware!
My house is located 3 blocks from the hip Highlands Square--restaurants, shopping, bars, coffee shops, and spas--all within walking distance. 2 miles to downtown Denver--too far to walk? Public transportation picks up a half a block away and takes you right to the heart of Denver.
