Nestled at the edge of a semi-wooded lot, this inviting Birchwood home is within walking distance of the Birchwood Club House, the Club’s heated pool, fitness center, tennis courts and various tee-off points for the three golf courses…great for those guests with one car.
The sophisticated yet welcoming interior and furnishings make you immediately feel at home. The open floor plan is ideal as a gathering destination for family or multiple couples.
The entry level includes a well decorated gathering area with TV, large office with WiFi for “keeping in touch” as well as a half bath and entrance to the two car garage.
Continuing to the main level, you are greeted by a second gathering area with embracing leather furnishings. This attractive area includes a gas fireplace and expansive view of the outdoors. There is a separate dining area and Completely new fully equipped kitchen with a large eat-in island. Floor to ceiling windows showcase an enchanting view of the surrounding area. A laundry room with full size washer & dryer and half bath are within steps of the kitchen.
Just off the dining area are two decks for your enjoyment. They are ideal for relaxing, getting lost in a good book or entertaining friends. A large gas grill awaits the “chef” and the creative meals to be prepared. Or if you prefer, relaxing in a comfy hammock near the garden area.
The large master bedroom (king) with brand new mattress is on the main level includes an armoire with TV, dresser, comfy chair and large windows overlooking the woods. The two addition bedrooms each with new mattresses (queen and a set of twins) located upstairs include their individual full bathes.
As guest* of Birchwood, you have full access to the various amenities. In the summer, this includes 27 holes of outstanding golf, use of the ten NEW clay tennis courts, heated pool and kiddy pool, fitness center, miles of walking trails and various dining facilities.
In the winter, the fitness center, miles of cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, the Grille Room and Casual Bar for dining are available. This wonderful home is only 12 miles from Boyne Highlands and Nub’s Nob via the “back-way” on well traveled road—clear directions are provided.
As for sightseeing, Birchwood is just 3 miles from Harbor Springs, 10 miles from Petoskey and 45 minutes to Mackinaw Island. The entrance to the famous “Tunnel of Trees” is a few miles beyond the main entrance to Birchwood.

Treasured Hideaway was wonderful
Three (3) couples shared this home for a destination wedding weekend in Harbor Springs. The setting is lovely, the home met our needs perfectly. We had lunch in Harbor Springs on Friday - like being in a picture book for the day -and drove the 20 mile "Tunnel of Trees" - photos taken along the lake - such a beautiful setting. Then a Welcome Party @ nearby Pond Farm & Winery, ceremony @ Catholic Church in downtown Harbor Springs, and the wedding reception at the Birchwood Farm & Country Club on Saturday evening. We know we would have loved exploring the neighborhood even more. but we were unprepared for the unexpected snow...though it was lovely with all the fall color backdrop to the pristine snow.

All mattresses were much too firm, very uncomfortable, lower level smaller bad and had the only TV. Carpeting was excessively stained, made the home feel dirty although the rest was very clean. Kitchen was very good but no toaster.

In response, there are ALL NEW mattresses in each bedroom. The carpets are now professionally cleaned twice a year. A TV has been added to the main floor for guest enjoyment.
In addition, the kitchen has been completely remodeled with granite counter tops & includes a very large island with seating for four. The kitchen includes all new appliances & a toaster oven.

This home is a wonderful place to spend a family vacation. Harbor Springs is an incredibly charming town, similar to being in one of the nicer parts of Cape Cod or the Hamptons. Beautiful beaches, boating, lovely shops, and yummy vacation treats from the local bakery or fudge shop will be daily reminders that you are on vacation.
The attractively decorated house is nestled in the woods, just a short stroll from the golf course, club house and swimming pool. Dinners on the deck will give you every opportunity to practice your BBQ grilling skills while admiring the flowers and catching glimpses of wildlife including the occasional deer. Reading a book, while gently rocking in the hammock, is a nice way to spend an afternoon. The roomy kitchen with an island will let the cooks in your family practice their culinary skills. Bedrooms and baths on 3 different levels will let your family spread out, ideal for multiple generations.
On my first visit I was a bit concerned that there was no air conditioning but my worries were unfounded. The wooded setting and location ensures that the house remains cool, even on days when it is hot in the town of Harbor Springs.
This lovely house is now a place that feels like home, as I return with friends for summer fun year after year.
Beautiful tree house
Wow, what a great place. We absolutely love it. For us it is the location, far enough from the hustle and bustle of town--close to the fabulous country club and it's amenities. My husband loved biking downhill into town and appreciated the exercise of the uphill climb home.
The location also makes it a great place to start day trips. We were able to make trip to Mackinac Island with our bikes on our car rack. On the way up we stopped in Good Heart for the most delicious crepe I have ever had. We rented a pontoon boat one day in Alanson and took it up the river to Burt Lake. The kids loved tubing in the lake off the boat.
The impeccably clean house has plenty of space to relax and reenergize. My favorite spot is reclining in the hammock on the deck with a good book then falling asleep. It has everything you need to make your stay comfortable.
We have also enjoyed it in the winter. Wonderful sledding on the club grounds. There are 2 ski areas nearby as well.
This is not just a house but a home that makes you feel like one of the family, not a guest.
This property is 3 miles from Harbor Springs, 10 miles from Petoskey and 30 minutes to Charlevoix. Destinations for a day trip include Mackinaw Island (45 minutes), Upper Peninsula, Tunnel of Tree drive to Cross Village or renting a pontoon boat on Crooked Lake.

DAMAGE AND CLEANING ISSUES: Any damage or cleaning issues noticed upon arrival should be reported to the management immediately. If damage or cleaning issues are not reported within 3 hours of your arrival, your credit card may be charged for the cost of the repair. All general maintenance issues should also be reported so the unit can be kept in good repair. You must contact the management to address any cleaning issues within 3 hours of your arrival. You will not incur any additional charges if the following items are adhered to: No damage is done to the unit or its content including the linens. No items are missing upon the inventory check. All debris, garbage and discards are placed in proper containers. All soiled dishes are placed in the dishwasher. There was no exceeding the maximum occupancy of the unit. There was no smoking or evidence of smoking in a designated non-smoking unit. Unit is left in neat condition. Pet friendly units show no sign of pet damage or excessive cleaning If you experience any problems whatsoever with the vacation property during your stay, please contact us and we will do our best to rectify the matter as soon as it is practically possible. Should a problem remain unresolved, you are required to notify us in writing within 7 days of your return. No action can be taken or liability accepted for any complaints received after this period. We aim to resolve complaints within a two month period from receipt, the details of which will be kept confidential to only the parties involved.
