Good location- but that’s it.
This rental is great ONLY because of its location. It is a 3 story walk up (with no elevator) that is literally around the corner from the Chateau Frontenac. You can’t beat it in terms of location. But to be honest, I can’t rate it above a 2 for several reasons. Most importantly, it wasn’t very clean as I’m used to. In fact, I told the owner I left it cleaner than when I found it.
The furnishings in the common area and the interior of the apartment were very old and in badly need of upgrading. Including the kitchen, and apartment windows especially. Although the owner was easy to relate to, he would stand to make a killing on this rental if he renovated it. Especially if he puts in a central air and heat system. Quebec City is beautiful and this location is ideal if you are ok with meager living quarters and physically fit to handle the 3 floor walk up and brutal summer heat!
Lovely accommodations in Old Quebec
As first timers to Old Quebec, we were so pleased with our selection of this apartment. It was perfectly located, clean, and well stocked with basic needs and comforts such as wifi - Nestled in a beautiful neighborhood, yet easy access to everything we wanted to experience in Old Quebec. It gave us a real taste of life in Old Quebec City. If you are looking for the comfort and accessibility, this is perfect!
Superb location and very clean/affordable!
My husband and I and our children stayed here at the end of July and we were impressed with everything! It really felt like we were living in Europe - but at a much better price! The owner was very considerate and well-organized. The central, quiet location just steps from all of the action allowed us to eat breakfast in the apartment, do some sight seeing in the morning, return to the apartment for lunch and then head out again for the afternoon/evening. Having (fairly) small children, the wifi and cable was a must! THANK YOU:) Oh and having the washer and dryer was also a huge plus, especially since we were staying four nights. We needed parking for our vehicle, and we were able to pay a little extra for the owner's parking pass (parking lot not too far away but a bit of a walk). It was very hot when we visited and despite having the windows open, the apartment could use a couple of good fans. Other than that, it was perfect! We will DEFINITELY be back! :)
Beautiful location in Old Quebec
The apartment was spacious and in a nice quiet neighborhood. Great views of Chateau Frontenac and the river from the living room window. We were a short walk from all the shops, restaurants and tourist places. Quaint looking apartment, felt like we were back in Europe. We were able to keep the windows at night for a cool breeze. Highly recommended. We enjoyed our stay.
Perfect location in Old Quebec
The apartment is lovely, and we had everything we needed. The location can't be beat - we could see Chateau Frontenac from the bedroom windows, and watched the Canada Day fireworks from the back balcony. We really enjoying being able to walk out the door and start our day.
At the same time, the apartment is on a very quiet street, so we had no problems with noise. It was hot in July, so we kept the windows open when we were in the apartment, but the only street noise was the horse-drawn carriages.
We traveled with our two kids (5 and 7), and they handled the walk up to the apartment (which is up two flights of stairs) very well. But for someone with mobility issues, this might not be the right choice. For anyone else, it is a really wonderful home base.
Charming and Comfortable
This apartment was spacious and well appointed; very clean, very quiet. We were so comfortable for our stay. Old Quebec is such a beautiful place to visit, with many interesting things to see and do. In the cold winter temperatures we were happy to have such a cosy place to call home; warm and inviting. The lovely old building has such character and is in a great location with easy access to everything; good restaurants with good service, many visitor attractions. We toured the Citadel, National Assembly (PS: there's a really lovely restaurant in the National Assembly!), Hôtel de Glace, Le Carnaval and more. So many reasons to return and this apartment will call to us again!
You will be in the ''Vieux Québec'' (Old town) as well from the beautiful battlefields and also from all the night life and great restaurants. No need to use a car around here, everything is so close.
