Great long weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

We've had a great time at the Cottage. It is very clean with a sense that it is a place where people live, not just a hotel stay. Though if you plan on cooking a lot, bringing an extra pot could be helpful. We've stayed only for a few days and didn't cook dinners. Jim Thorpe with a variety of places to eat is very close. There is a DVD player, we've brought movies and enjoyed family movie times. We liked eating on the deck watching deers. The owner is living around and was very helpful with advising on places to eat and things to do. We would stay there again.

I loved everything about my stay in Jim Thorpe. It was truly the best!!!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures do not do this house justice. it was the coziest, most inviting house I have ever rented. It was clean and I am so fussy about clean and it exceeded all my expectations. George was the most delightful owner I have dealt with. He answered all my calls, and questions and met us at the house letting us check in early and giving us brochures and suggestions of things to do in the area and places to see. He truly was a genuine, interesting gentleman who really wanted our stay to be special. I am already planning on when to return.

We saw deer in the yard everyday just strolling through at all times. It was truly the most amazing way to spend a few days. The surrounding areas are so beautiful. The lake, beach area are in walking distance. The town of Jim Thorpe is only 5 miles away. Everything was just beautiful I cannot stress that enough.

Thank you so much George we will be back!

Charming, quiet cottage nestled in the woods

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our stay in this charming, cozy cottage. It was clean, well kept and stocked with extras to make our stay comfortable. George was an excellent host, providing information and making sure we had everything we needed. If you are looking for some quiet time in the woods with everything you have at home, rent this cottage. You won't be disappointed.

So relaxing and beautiful getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time a the Cottage. It was clean and comfortable with ample seating and space for four adults. The kitchen was well-stocked. We enjoyed every meal out on the screened-in porch, with wildlife to view. Yes, the beds were hard, but I was prepared after reading an earlier review and took my memory foam. George was so helpful with suggestions and answers to questions about the community and surroundings. The amenities were loads of fun, as we played shuffleboard and bocce and swam in the clean lake. I would love to go back to Bear Creek Lake and would certainly choose to stay again at the Cottage.
