Notes:
We are located 13 miles from the south entrance. Should take approx. 20 min. to get there and another 45 min. to 1 hour to get to the valley floor. I would advise leaving early to avoid backup at the entrance gate. To truly explore Yosemite's beauty it will take several days.

Adorable one of a kind house on a river and waterfall. I have stayed here twice.

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic feeling of being taken away by sounds of the waterfall. Heals something deep inside me to listen and watch right from the house and two decks at two levels. A super cute new bathroom, quartz shower with a cute sitting area with a mini chandelier make it so fun. The lower deck was added and is even closer to the river. Adorable new green grass eco looks totally real but can be enjoyed out back for a sense of yard which most people cannot have due to rugged mountains. Ruth is a super caring host and takes great care of her home she graciously shares and personally decorates it has a great water whole house filter too . I would have this home if I could but the best of this world is I get the pleasure of staying! And enjoying the fruits of their labor of love. I highly recommend this house for 4-5 person family as it's two bedroom but the house feels open and spacious with windows and decks and open living area and vaulted ceiling. Super comfortable billowy master bed I slept better than expected. I will come back to be at peace. Drive in close to Yosemite and spend most my time right at the house in nature. Love it. Can't say enough good stuff. Ruth may even add a king bed she told me for taller couples than me! lol.

Owner's Response: Hi Liza, I was so excited to find out I had a repeat guest. All the changes I've made makes your visit even better. I still need to change the photos on VRBO to reflect all the new amenities added. However, if someone is willing to reserve the Waterfall House with the existing photos they have a pleasant surprise coming. Smiles, Ruth

A perfect getaway to yosemite

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay of 4 nights at the waterfall house as we visited yosemite. The house was perfect size for our family of 4. It had all the amenities you'd want and the best of all, had a great location just 2 mins away from the highway. Away from it all and yet so close to everything! Listening to the waterfall sound while having breakfast on the deck was awesome. Highly recommended!

Waterfall house

  • 5 of 5

The waterfall house is really cute and situated on a beautiful piece of land. It was very relaxing to sit on the deck and watch the water cascading down. Only negative is the drive to Toloumme Meadow area was extremely long. Next time we'll stay on Glacier Point Rd and the Valley.

Owner's Response: Hi Diane, Your long trip to Toloumme Meadow doesn't surprise me. Yosemite is the size of Rhode Island and Toloumme Maedows is located at the most northern part of the park. With that being said, I'm glad your stay was relaxing. Please come back and stay, if you want to spend time a Bass Lake or the southern end of Yosemite. Kind regards, Ruth

Great view!

  • 4 of 5

What a nice treat to sit on the deck with a glass of wine to watch and listen to the beautiful sound of water rolling over the rocks. Although tried to sleep with the door open and it was quite loud.

The house was perfect for hubby and I, would do for two couples also but second bedroom has two twins. Only drawback for us was the master bed is too small, hence the four stars. Just a full size. When you are used to a king it just seems way too small.

The house as a whole was very cute and comfortable. Everything you would need for cooking although we didn't cook.

It was pretty warm and had to use the air conditioner which seemed to work well. It would be nice to go in cold weather so that you could use the wood stove in the living room.

Bathroom looked to have been recently updated and was sufficient, cute and clean.

Close to the town of Oakhurst and Yosemite.

Hope to return.

Owner's Response: Hi Dana, I'm happy you enjoyed your stay at the waterfall house. The falls are crazy robust this year, due to the record snow and rainfall. Opening the window in the living room may have been far enough to enjoy the water sounds at night. The second bedroom has a full size bed and 1 twin. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, but can certainly accommodate a cal king bed. Winter time is magical when it snows and the wood burning stove is going. Regards, Ruth

Our Yosemite stay

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to stay. When the ONLY negative thing you can say about a place is you wish the lighting was a little brighter for reading, you know you've stayed a terrific place. The house was clean, nicely decorated and VERY well equipped. The deck down by the waterfall was a wonderful place to sit after a busy day in Yosemite. We would recommend this beautiful house as a great place to stay to anybody while visiting the park. In fact, a couple of days we came back a little early from our adventures just to relax at this house.

Owner's Response: Hi Jim and Barb, Thank you for the kind review. Returning to the waterfall house early from Yosemite is a huge complement, and could ask for nothing more. We recently lost a lamp in the living room due to a accident and have yet to replace it. The swing lighting in the master indicates 60 watt max, perhaps i'll test the UL gods and put in 100 watt bulbs. Smiles, Ruth
