First trip to Seattle was a winner!

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I spent about a week exploring Seattle and this townhouse was a good homebase to work from. The house is located in a nice neighborhood just about five miles away from downtown Seattle. More importantly for us, it's also located less than a mile from Discovery Park. We got into town around 3pm and decided to walk over to the park to see what it was like. Well, 7 1/2 miles of walking later we got home tired but blown away by what a beautiful area the park encompasses.

Coming from a small town in a very quiet neighborhood, it did take a while to get used to the noise level and the lack of privacy. Not that the neighborhood was particularly noisy, it's just part of being in a major city. Only other "negative" is that the TV is no bigger than a computer monitor so the idea of staying in one night and relaxing on the couch and maybe watching a movie or something really wasn't an option. This is a house for folks who want to get up and get out and explore everything the area has to offer.

Owners were very professional and responsive and we sincerely appreciate their generosity in sharing their home.

Owner's Response: We are so happy you enjoyed Seattle as much as we do...especially Discovery Park. We too find ourselves wandering the wonderful park when we are there. The City has so much to offer! It is a City and all that come with that. Growing up in northern Pennsylvania, I understand your comment about the quietness of a small town. Regarding the TV, we have heard this from a few of our visitors and we plan to upgrade to a larger screen when we return in August. Thanks for staying with us and we would love to welcome you back for a second visit!

The Magnolia town home was a great base for exploration of Seattle. Loved Discovery Park and overall convenience of location. The space, decor and unit amenities were good; especially enjoyed the master bedroom skylight. The TV situation needs improvement; no cable and very small TV tucked into a corner. The sofa bed was not comfortable despite its foam topper. No bureau in second bedroom which was actually a den. Would suggest converting the space into an actual second bedroom if rental to parties of 4 continues. Town home and city were expensive so get that wallet ready.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your suggestions. With regard to the sofa bed, although the bed is new, we will plan to change out the mattress in August when we return. The built-in closet space in the second bath is generally used by our guests if they need the space. We are happy that you enjoyed your time in Seattle!

Absolutely fantastic!

This home was perfect for two couples traveling for 4 days in Seattle. It is very clear Tom and Barbara care about this home, as it is beautifully decorated and homey. We did not need for anything, the house was very well stocked and kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay!

We really enjoyed our stay. The only problem was the pull out bed in the second bedroom. It was not comfortable. Except for that, it was great.

Owner's Response: We are happy you enjoyed your stay and thanks for your feedback! Although we have not had any issues raised with the second bedroom accommodations, with your input we will we plan to secure a good feathertop for the bed. Again, thanks for staying with us.

Just about everything

Great location! Only one thing. Very small TV. I had hoped to have my Seattle family over to watch a football game and realized that wouldn't work. Other than that everything perfect. Great hosts

Owner's Response: Thanks for staying with us! We are glad we met your expectations with our home with the exception of the TV. We will consider your suggestion for a larger one. We have tried not to over-power the living space with a television as more people stream on their computers. Thanks for the comments and come again when you all are in Seattle.

Wonderful Duplex!

  • 5 of 5

A perfect place for us while visiting our son and family in Magnolia with only a fifteen minute ride into Seattle center. The Condo was so well designed, decorated and furnished that it provided all the comforts of home. The owners have thought of nearly every need that one might have including providing an incredibly well equipped kitchen.

It was a pleasure to deal with Tom and we most definitely would choose to stay here again.

Owner's Response: Madeline and Sidney, Thanks so much for your wonderful comments. We try our best to make this a home away from home and know that folks love to feel at ease when they stay away from their routine. Please come back and stay with us when you return to Magnolia and Seattle again!
