Down a private lane sits this new second floor apartment offering modern amenities with old beach style. Relax in the Adirondack chairs on your mahogany deck overlooking Round Pond or stroll to any of the three beaches (Lloyds, Surfers and Tappans) that make Sakonnet Harbor so special. And when you are ready for a little exploring, don't miss Goosewing Beach Preserve, designated 'One of the Last Great Places' by the Nature Conservancy. Or head to Newport with its Gilded Age mansions, the bustle of its wharfs and abundance of fine dining establishments. Check your dates for the Jazz Festival, Blues Festival, Food & Wine Festival or Boat Show. You won't want to miss The Whaling Museum in New Bedford, and Sid Wainer's gourmet outlet just off I-195. There's lots to see and do but after a busy day touring, you'll be happy to return to the peace and quiet of Sakonnet.
'The Barn' features one bedroom with Queen bed and a loft with two twin beds from which you can see the Sakonnet Lighthouse. The modern kitchen is open to the light-filled living room and dining area. Off the living room is the deck with eastern view to Round Pond for magnificent sunrises and terrific birdwatching. The bathroom features tub with shower. There is a shared outdoor shower and BBQ grill, private backyard and fire pit.
The Stone House Inn & Spa, Sakonnet Yacht Club and Sakonnet Golf Club are just a short walk from The Barn. Little Compton's Common with churches, restaurants, shopping and Wilbur's General Store is an 8 minute drive, and along the way you can stop to purchase fresh eggs, produce and flowers from roadside stands or visit the Art Cafe for fresh baked goodies and excellent coffees, cappuccino or tea to take home or enjoy under the shade of an old tree. Life in Little Compton is relaxed and easy.
