Holiday with Family

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Arsenal during the 2013 Christmas holiday achieved all our expectations. We found the home a delightful, comfortable location for enjoying time with family and friends in the area. Fully equipped with all the amenities needed to experience a home away from home, the Arsenal was spacious, up-to-date and inviting. Although too chilly to enjoy the patio and the backyard retreat, we could only imagine how relaxing the private area would be in the spring and summer. We would certainly stay at Arsenal again.

What a wonderful vacation

  • 5 of 5

We searched high and low for the perfect place to spend 4th of July week that would fit both of our personalities and we found it in The Arsenal in Clinton.

The home is located on charming Waterside Lane which is a narrow avenue that leads past lovely old houses and crosses a wooden bridge at the end of the shore that leads to the Clinton Town Beach.

We were immediately interested but nothing prepared us for the amazing accommodations, spectacular grounds and views when we arrived

We have spent a week at this home and loved every minute of it. The property is in amazing condition; it felt more like a five-star hotel than a private rental. In fact the pictures and description don't give it justice - you have to see it to believe it how nice it is. I tried all week to take pictures that captured how beautiful it was but I just couldn't create one that compared to being there in person

The house was well stocked with anything we might have needed. The patio and 2nd floor deck off the Master bedroom were perfect for a place to read or relax. This home is in an ideal location and truly 30 minutes or 30 miles from Old Saybrook, Stonington, Mystic Seaport, Casinos which we covered all of them during our stay. We even found the Indian Leap waterfall in Norwich. Having the town and the beach within walking distance was a bonus! We enjoyed walking and bike riding through the streets of Clinton.

We enjoyed grilling dinner and eating in the Arsenal. It felt like we were back in the old days. As far as restaurants go, we only ate at The Log Cabin which was recommended and close by and a must for an Italian dinner. The portions are large and they serve a large bowl of pasta for the whole table.

It is an amazing property and a one of a kind experience we look forward to having again. Also, the owner is beyond wonderful and helpful. She provided many details of the house to make our stay very comfortable. I’d recommend renting this home and we would rent it again in a heartbeat!

One week was not enough and we would love to come back - thank you so much!

Wonderful Experience

  • 5 of 5

My stay was too short. Had a wonderful time. Met some of the neighbors who were very nice. My daughter played with other kids at the beach. One drawback was the extremely low water level at low tide. Otherwise, the beach was sheltered and sloped gently, so I was confident letting my eight-year old play in the water.

The owner has impecable taste. The house is beautifully decorated but comfortable. So welcoming to come back to.

There was a lot to explore and plenty to do in and around town. Also more than enough nearby for fun day trips. Wish I had stayed for two weeks instead of just one!
