Overview

About the property

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Picture yourself on the porch with a glass of wine in hand. The tranquil river rolling by with the occasional eagle or duck spotting. If you are lucky even deer. The view can not be better with the snow capped mountains and the colorful sunsets of orange, pink and red.

Maggies Cabin was built in 1936 and has the original river rock fireplace. The roaring fireplace warms you from head to toe. We have all you could want and more!

Features: Skykomish river front property; large covered deck with hot tub and patio set and lounge chairs; leather couches; river rock fire place with glass door insert; wool rugs; full kitchen with coffee/ tea/ hot coco supplied; 2 bedrooms with lots of pillows and down comforters; Master bedroom has a queen and second bedroom has a full; special bottle of local wine or Champagne and take home 'cabin' cups to remember your trip!

We are only 23 miles from Stevens pass and offer discount lift tickets. Ski season is very popular...they have now added mountain biking in the summer.

My favorite thing about this property is the covered large porch! It could be snowing, raining or sunny and you can stay covered and enjoy the sound of the river rolling by. I have even spent the night outside on a blow up bed and enjoyed the river's sound as I slept. We added new plush beds this year and they are also a favorite.

There are many close hikes all around...I always walk down to the single lane suspension bridge....very romantic place too. I had friend get engaged on it.

Time to make a getaway for the Mountains!

We also offer discount ski passes to Stevens Pass. Inquire.

New hot tub 3/15/18 and not pictured yet...larger 5 person with more jets!

For those who can't leave everything behind...we have wireless high speed internet.

We are just over an hour from Seattle...but you feel a world away.

To add to the options...we have Maggies Love shack listing number is 723052...It is just across the road from Maggies Cabin and is a must to look at! We had so much fun transforming this place...every door and window replaced. Granite countertops; custom cabinets; dimmers on everyl light switch. No special touch was missed! Check out my website for more information.

We put live Christmas tree in the cabin for the holiday! 🎄

About Colleen

I work full time making people look great. I am a hair colorist. I love making people happy. I enjoy the cabin myself and want to share the experience!

Colleen purchased this cabin in 2004

Why Colleen chose Baring

It is on high bank of the river and the view is remarkable. The cabin also gets sunshine during the day and afternoon with wonderful sunsets. We first bought the cabin for skiing...but have found it is wonderful all year long. My husband and I were married here.

What makes this cabin unique

We are the only cabin around who has a generator when the weather is stormy and airconditioning when the weather is hot. We also give you a bottle of Champagne or wine to start your vacation off right. Logo "Maggies cabin" cups to enjoy using and take home for a souvenir.

Great view and relaxing

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed some time without our kids here. It was cold and rainy, but the view of the raging river and calming sound was incredible. We enjoyed the hot tub and a couple movies.

The biggest reason for my 4 star review is because we didn't have many meal options outside of the cabin for meals without a long drive. If you get grumpy, or know someone who does, without eating planning meals is helpful. We did BBQ some steaks one night, but we had to drive a while before we got to a store and most of the meals out were at bars. Not a big deal, but greasy food for multiple meals was not our thing. If you plan ahead and bring some things for cooking there and decide ahead of time where you'll go out to eat it will make it a much better experience.

We headed into Leavenworth for a meal which was about an hour away and hangout in the area.

Not much cell coverage which made it difficult to keep in contact with my mother-in-law and kids, but they did have a land-line which I was able to give to them for emergency contact which was thankfully not needed.

It was clean and quaint, the best part was sitting in the hot tub watching the raging river and listening to the sound of the water. Colleen was great, we had to contact her because I didn't have our access code. Unfortunately we had to drive a ways to get cell coverage to get through. My fault for not getting it before. I'd suggest writing all the directions and information access before you get out of the cell coverage area. It did cause a minor stressful situation for my husband and I.

All in all it was nice to get away without our kids.

Perfect getaway for a ski weekend

  • 5 of 5

Came here for a ski weekend getaway and it was perfect. The property had everything we needed and was clean. Super cozy inside with comfortable furniture and all the amenities you'd want or need. The view from the back porch was pretty incredible. Perfect location from Steven's Pass. I would for sure come here again.

Cozy cabin with the best view, ever

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at Maggie's Cabin! It was a perfect location for a weekend of snowboarding and the view was unbeatable. Maggie's personal touches around the cabin were delightful.

Be aware that the thermostat can't keep the house above 64 degrees if it's really cold outside so bring firewood- the big fireplace is amazing!

Great, relaxing stay!

  • 4 of 5

Loved getting here from Chicago with my husband for a few days to do some hiking, site seeing (in Leavenworth) and relaxing. Such a great place to be secluded from everything yet still have some fun things to go do in the area!

We did a super long hike that we are definitely not used to be being from the flat lands of Illinois, so the hot tub was a nice treat after the long day to relax the muscles and with such amazing views. The photos of the back yard view really don't do it justice!

Only a couple things to mention, we were surprised we had to pay $25 to dispose of our trash. I know it had changed due to some circumstances, but don't feel we should have been responsible for that cost and task of going to the dump trying to get back to Seattle for the airport.

The other is just a suggestion; having some staple items in the cabin would have been a huge help. Such as olive oil, pam etc. we were surprised nothing was really left over from someone previously or just on hand because they are items that really add up at the store but you need to have when cooking.

Overall, great, cozy place to stay! Thank you, Maggie!

Peaceful Place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 4 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. Sitting on the porch listening to the river was so peaceful. Sitting in the hot tub to relax after a day of hiking was wonderful. We were surprised to find a book that gave us directions and information about hiking trails. We hope to come back next year and stay 2 weeks.
