Spring Break 2017

  • 5 of 5

We loved this property. Everything you see online is exactly what it is like or better. The views are amazing and we were lucky to have some excellent sun sets. There was so much room it never felt like there was more than one family there. Bring beach stuff as they do not have chairs and bring games and movies for any rainy days. I would stay here again in a heart beat! We have rented several times through VBRO and have yet to be disappointed. Staff at Harmon Realty were great and the rental process was very smooth!!

Excellent place with lots of room and a couple of small flaws!

  • 4 of 5

This place was great! The location was quiet and everyone had their own private room. My mother-in-law stayed up in the 3rd floor, what we called "The Presidential Suite" so we didn't see much of her. The only complaint I would have is the passage to the beach was a little grown up at the beginning of the path but it wasn't terrible. The beach was quiet which was nice also. The elevator is a nice touch especially when bringing in luggage. You can hear the traffic on the road inside, but it wasn't unbearable. Wouldn't hurt for the pots and pans to be replaced, most were teflon material, so they were scratched and rusted from people not knowing how to use them. Overall we had a great time and the stay here was very nice. We would definitely want to stay here again if we take another trip to Mexico Bech.

Great newer family beach front home in low key, non crowded area

  • 5 of 5

Great space for our four families (7 adults, 3 kids) plenty of bedrooms with a huge master suite on the top floor, that was pure luxury, spacious, and quiet (except a few good rain storms). Bed there was great, others "ok". An extra den with TV on main floor was great for the teenager hangout when he wanted his own space (and also has a pull out couch). Yes, there is an elevator, which was good on move in/move out day, and grocery shopping. Kids thought it was very cool to have an elevator in our "mansion".

So close to the beach...just steps out the door. No street to cross! Beach was not crowded at all even at Easter/Spring break. Enough people going past to say hi to, but otherwise lots of space all too ourselves. Beach had so many wonderful shells, soft white sand, good shallow waves, and wildlife (one dolphin, few sting rays, lots of jumping fish, birds). You can have dogs on the beach in this county (vs just down the street in Mexico beach proper) and beach fires too.

Beautiful views from multiple decks including sunsets. Very clean, new, and updated decor. Very well stocked kitchen in terms of cookware, blender, and number of dishes, glassware, utensils. Nice double oven. There was no corkscrew but we assume that it may have wandered off at some time. No extra stocking of any condiments, sugar, salt and pepper, matches, etc. So you will need to bring all of those. Need to bring your own beach towels, as expected. One shower drain did not drain well (and I forgot to let rental agency know) but otherwise everything else was in good working order. No house games, puzzles or beach toys, as I had expected there might be, so it was a good thing we brought our own for a few rainy days and fun late nights.

And don't forget great restaurants and seafood in the area. Regan's for Oysters in Port St Joe just down the street. Best oysters ANYWHERE...total dive bar!

Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Hope to return someday soon!

Fantastic Stay

  • 5 of 5

FANTASTIC stay! Beautiful and safe neighborhood that allowed us to feel on vacation from day one. The weather was incredible and being in a house right on the water made us feel like we owned a little chunk of beach! The house was beautiful as well as in incredible condition and very well equipped. We are dreaming to go back!!!

special family trip

  • 5 of 5

Excellent layout. We loved the open room for the kitchen, dining, and living area. With 12 people, we had plenty of room. The covered decks were perfect! Well stocked kitchen plus room for several cooks. Great location, quiet beautiful beach. We took a vote and decided to make our reservations for next summer immediately. Thanks for sharing your beach home with us. It was a special trip!!

Close to Perfect

  • 4 of 5

We have visited several houses over the gulf coast throughout the years. Overall this is a great house on a GREAT beach. It’s close in proximity to restaurants and stores. With that being said, there are a few changes that could be made to make the house even better. The house only has one, side-by-side refrigerator. With a house that can accommodate 12+ people, a second refrigerator would be helpful. With one refrigerator you are running to the store quite often to buy ice for coolers to store additional food. This house doesn’t have a separate ice machine, which also would be nice to have. The kitchen is not stocked very well. It’s a mix and match of what prior renters have left in the kitchen and it is lacking pots/pans and bakeware. The sheets on the bed are HORRIBLE!! They are such a low quality that they actually felt itchy and rough. Upon arrival, the management company provides one set of towels per person and they are also low quality. It would also be nice for the house to have quality towels provided. Lastly, a full size ironing board would be nice. The table top ironing board is a joke! I hope the management company takes these little small issues into consideration to make this home truly outstanding.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear the home was overall a great place for your family to stay! We strive to make sure all of our guests enjoy their stay. Most of these issues would've been taken care of quickly during your stay if we would've been notified. The sheets, towels, ironing board, pots and pans have since been updated. A second refrigerator and ice machine is not common in rental properties. All of our guests in the past have been happy with one refrigerator, freezer and ice machine. Thank you for staying with us. We look forward to your return to Sinking Sun.
