Beaches: There are many beautiful beaches in Gower. Honeysuckle Cottage is next to one of the most magical of all these which is Pwlldu. There is no public parking nearby so it really is a locals beach. The cottage is five minute walk from this beach.

Three Cliffs Bay is a 20 minute walk away from the cottage along the cliff path which has sweeping sea views that take your breath away. There are two cafes in the village along the way in case you need to stop for refreshments.

There are many others, such as Caswell and Llangennith , where you can learn to surf. Oxwich, where you can learn to sail. Rhosilli, for spectacular walks across the causeway out to Worm's head.

Port Eynon is another family favourite and has recently been featured in Coast magazine.

All in all there a beach for every taste on Gower. Come and see which is your favourite.

Shopping: The idyllic seaside village of Mumbles is home to some of the best shops in the area. It is home to an eclectic range of home ware, fashion, show and gift shops. The Oyster Gallery, for example, is home to much more than a range of paintings and is a must if you are looking for some keepsakes or gifts for friends and family. There are independent clothes boutiques such as Pebble, Blue and Jabberwocky and Cha Cha's and Rowberrys are shoe boutiques that are well worth a visit. From chocolate shops to delicatessens there really is something fro everyone.

Closer to home in the village of Southgate we have our very own Jewellery shop Jewels by the Sea. Fabulous for spoiling yourself or others!

In nearby Parkmill there is the Mill. This is a museum, come cafe with a few little craft shops and ducks chickens and other animals to entertain the children. Great for a cloudy day!

Eating out: There are so many places to eat out. From cafes to AA rosette restaurants Gower has an option for all tastes and budgets.

The cafes in Southgate do affordable lunches and the pubs in Kittle, Bishopston and Reynoldston do affordable but delicious pub food lunchtimes and evenings.

The local area comprises of stunning countryside and cliff views and spectacular golden sandy beaches, including Three Cliffs bay close by which was a finalist in the TV programme Britain's Best View. Tidal and woodland valleys can be explored just a short walk away.

Pwll du bay is a secret treasure situated five minutes from the cottage. It is usually quiet and a naturally sheltered cove with lots of delightful rock pools for children to explore. Nearby there are some lovely cafes which make an ideal stopping point for lunch and coffee, cakes or ice creams. There are also lots of excellent pubs.

A short drive away is the quaint seaside village of Mumbles. It is full of quaint shops, clothing and shoe shops and lots of cafes and restaurants.

Many water sports and outdoor activities can be enjoyed in the area, from surfing and sailing to horse-riding, cycling and climbing. If you want to see the coast from the perspective of the sea you could take a trip on the Gower Explorer.

Golf: There is a local golf course nearby called Pennard Golf Club. This is highly regarded course which many deem challenging. It takes in breathtaking views across the Three Cliffs Valley and the sea escapes beyond. If you are a keen golfer or just love spectacular views it is well worth a visit.
