Mountain cabin in pristine area but needs overhaul

  • 1 of 5

There are two things that I abhor,: charging a pet fee and not using the money towards cleaning up the previous pets messes and charging a cleaning fee and not cleaning the house. The manager had excuses why he would not send someone up to clean the floors but we have pictures of 8 buckets of dirty water and mops to bring the floor to clean. The pet poop and pee stains on the master carpet had not been removed for some time and it reeked of urine. Only because we had our own air filter with us were we able to sleep in the room. The furniture is minimal and well used in need of replacing.

We loved the area, picturesque and quiet, but the fishing/ hiking lake has become so popular you are always on display since there is no back yard enclosure and no window coverings.

I am requesting my cleaning money back since we actually had to clean the property ourselves. I am not recommending this manager as he was of little help getting the house clean.

Owner's Response: This guest arrived prior to the agreed upon arrival time and moved their personal items in the home which caused the housekeeper to discontinue her work in the home without being able to finish the clean. The owner of the home was the previous guest for 3 weeks and we are suspicious of the claims of the condition of the home was left in due to our plethora of experience in managing their home. We would not rent to this guest again.

Our family cherished our time at 10 Quarry Ct! The home is centrally located to take advantage of countless opportunities between Durango and Silverton. Our small children loved the adjacent lake and playground, as well as the plethora of activities offered by DMR across the street. Mom and dad enjoyed time in the high country on trails off Molas Pass. As a summertime destination, it was a great place to "beat the heat"!

The house is very nicely decorated and equipped. nice view of the lake across the road and gorgeous views of the maintain around. There is a Trail starting inside the community and it is a great path down to the river ( about 4 miles trail). Near by horseback riding at Rapp Corral is an excellent way to experience the forest.

Reviewer Comments:

Despite some very rainy weather, we had a great time in Durango and the two neighboring homes we rented in the Tacoma development were outstanding. We had six guys in each house, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The scenery is fantastic, the home was extremely nice and had all the basics (linens, utensils, basic toiletries, etc.). It's a bit of a drive to town (about 25 minutes) if that's an issue for you, but you definitely get that mountain vibe and there's a fun little pizza place/bar just a mile or so down the road (Old Schoolhouse) if you're looking to get out. Property manager was great to work with, and we had zero problems.
