This was our second time staying at one of the “Scotland Beach Properties”. This is the place to go when you want to get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax. We spent a week here just to relax and recharge. The house is situated perfectly on the bay where we were able to do a little fishing and crabbing. There is an active Osprey nest next to the pier and it was fascinating to just watch the pair of Osprey take care of the next. Unfortunately, we were there too early to see chicks hatch.
One thing that stands out is the quiet! The sound of the water and the birds are the predominant sounds you hear. The house itself is well appointed. Each room has a sliding glass door opening to the fresh air. We didn’t need to use the air conditioner most of the time; just open the doors and enjoy the cross breeze.
And one of the most important things about renting a place like this, and which pushes this to five stars, is the great responsiveness of the owner Ms. Binzel and her property manager Katie. If you have a question or problem, send them a message or call, and you’ll have your response within minutes. They provide truly great customer service and we wouldn’t hesitate to rent one of these properties again.
St. Mary's College Graduation Weekend
This is my 3rd time staying in Peggy's homes each time I have tried a different property. She never stops amazing me with how well stocked the houses are! The dock was great to hang out on and fish. The weather had a break from rain and we were able to kayak. Perfect location to celebrate our daughters college graduation and mothers day.
The House is clean and view is great. We love to take the kayaks out in the water, it’s very peaceful.
Lovely home, but with tide damage
We really enjoyed our stay at Marabheag, but were disappointed to find that an unusually high tide had damaged the pier and small beach in front of the house, so that they couldn't be used. Chances are the pier and beach have been repaired by now, but it might be good to ask before renting the property. The house itself is as advertised, with beautiful views, clean, well supplied and with lovely furnishings.and comfortable beds. We enjoyed visiting the nearby park, but had hoped for hiking trails where we could take our dog--all they had was a small "dog beach" and and RV area which allowed dogs. The private small community beach was nice, though.
We appreciate the kind comments and understand their concern about the pier. The pier and beach have been repaired. For those of you on the East Coast, you'll know that we had three significant storms back-to-back, ending with Hurricane Michael. Thankfully, the only real damage we had was to piers plus a little erosion. Unfortunately, everybody else on the water did, too, so it took a few weeks to get the damage repaired. We appreciate your patience with events that are out of our control.
Beautiful location and great house.
We spent 3 nights here over Labor Day weekend, and it was oppressively hot outside but the AC in the house was excellent. The house was very comfortable for six of us plus our dog, and had everything we needed for a relaxing couple of days. We did not take advantage of the kayaks due to our short visit but would definitely have used them if we had more time. Our favorite spot in the house was the first floor deck - so peaceful sitting there and looking out over the water; we didn't want to do anything else!
Unbelievable location and perfect home
The home is even better than the pictures!! We didn't realize how private, quiet, and spacious the small community was! The views were breathtaking, and the atmosphere was just so calm. This home provides its own entertainment whether you enjoy, biking, kayaking, stargazing, fishing, or just chilling out on the airy decks. This is the place to go for some tranquility and rejuvenation!! Not to forget that Peggy was so pleasant to work with and accommodated all our needs before our stay and during!! Kudos to Peggy for a home well done!
only 2 hours from Washington and Baltimore yet a world away. This secluded beach community is peaceful enough for relaxation in the beauty of nature or a great place for water sports and outdoor activity. Short trips to the original capital of Maryland and other historic sites are available...if you are able to tear yourself away from this gorgeous setting.
