About Allen Turner

Growing up in West Seattle, our family always had a strong enthusiasm for the outdoors. When my parents purchased this property, it gave us an even greater opportunity to escape the confines of the city and enjoy the natural resources we now had in our back yard.

Allen Turner purchased this house in 1968

Why Allen Turner chose Leavenworth

This property has been in my family since 1968. My parents constructed a small A-frame cabin and as they spent more time here, made some modest improvements. Our family has spent much time here, skiing, river rafting, hiking and fishing. We hope you will take advantage of as many opportunities as possilble.

What makes this house unique

The ability enjoy a beautiful riverside setting yet only be a few minutes from town, make this one of the more ideal locations in the Leavenworth area.

Beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

This property was perfect for our needs. The cabin was nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. The views of the river and mountains from the back were amazing. We spent as much time as possible sitting on the deck. The location was great - easy access to town and the surrounding area.

Relaxing and comfortable.

  • 4 of 5

Relaxing with the sound of the river as background noise. Cabin was old but clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy which was great for us. Four college friends (female) enjoyed their 43rd year of friendship.

Wonderful with a few exceptions...

  • 3 of 5

We loved the property and overall had a wonderful stay, with just a few "buts". The owner never sent check-in instructions, despite us emailing to ask for them two days prior to check-in. Luckily, VRBO customer service was able to walk us through accessing the property once we arrived and found ourselves locked out. If not for them, we would have been forced to either drive home or find alternate accommodations! Less critical but rather annoying- the main floor reeked of stale cigarettes. This may not have been a big deal to some, but if you're sensitive to smoke like I am, it was distracting and unpleasant (fortunately, the bedrooms didn't smell). Other very minor inconveniences - no ice or ice trays and limited kitchen supplies like tin foil or spices for cooking. Aside from that, we had a lovely stay.

Loved it.

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful waterfront home. Right on the river (tho there is a drop off, no actual river access). Definitely a family vacation home turned into a VRBO, but we liked that aspect. Everything you need and more, but if you're wanting a perfectly polished home this is not it. It has more of a homey feel than a boutique hotel feel. We are outdoorsy people and this was the perfect place to stay. We will be back!

Comfortable cabin for a family getaway

  • 4 of 5

Our family of 5 had a very relaxing stay. While this is an older property, we found it clean and roomy and the beds were comfortable.

Pros:

* Nice view of the river

* Only a mile from downtown Leavenworth

* Huge master bedroom and bedrooms are set away from the main living area if someone is looking for some peace and quiet

Cons:

*No access to the river from the house, just a steep drop-off (something to consider if you have a family with small children.)

Nice location nice views

The house was little more rustic than we expected. We had a few issues but the owner was very responsive and took care of then as soon as we told him,
