Washer and dryer on site. Propane fireplace.

Kitchen includes oven, electric stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, blender, kettle, and all necessary utensils/glassware.

House includes linens, blankets, bath towels, and pillows.

Property located on half acre. Medium bank walk to private dock for fishing, lounging, or tying your boat up to. Use of 16 foot 3-person canoe included (note that amenities section below says "kayak/canoe"; however that is a preset category we can check, and we only have a canoe). 2 fire pits (one in front yard and one on waterfront). Grassy area (approximately 45 foot by 15 foot) on bulkhead waterfront (weather permitting – during high rain season, the water levels are variable and can impact the bulkhead landscaping). 8 foot x 45 foot covered deck overlooking lake with log swing. Hammock overlooking lake. Large propane BBQ. Table and chairs on deck (new patio set since picture was taken).

Lake (approximately 270 acres and 10 miles of shoreline) stocked with bass and trout. Lake split into a speed boat area and no-wake zones; house is ideally located near speed area, but on no-wake zone. Also conveniently located near boat launch.

Wildlife can be seen throughout the year, including bald eagles, owls, otters, heron, hawks, and a variety of birds. Hummingbird feeder with regular visitors.

Approximately 100 miles of running/biking trails in area (Ranier-Tenino trail, Chehalis Western trail). Shopping, dining, theatres, and full city amenities within 15 minutes (Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater, and Yelm). Skiing at Crystal Mountain, White Pass, Snoqualmie Pass, and Stevens Pass (all within 1.5 to 3.5 hours). Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, the Cascade Mountains, and the Olympic Peninsula all provide great hiking, camping, and wine tasting (all within 2 to 3 hours). A quick trip to Seattle's Pike Place Market, Space Needle, Seahawks, Mariners, etc. is only 45 to 60 minutes away. Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) is conveniently located about 15 to 30 minutes away.

From time to time we have stocked the house with fishing poles, camping chairs, life jackets, etc. Some of these items may be there during your stay; however, they tend to get lost, stolen, broken often enough that it's hard to keep them stocked all the time.

550 square foot (of the 3,000 total) storage / shop area.

A "home away from home"!

  • 5 of 5

A great "home base" while in the area for our daughter's wedding! Provided housing for family and relatives as needed, hosted a dinner for family and relaxing times on the deck enjoying the view!

Thanks for sharing your home!

Beautiful view and location- house needs extra care

  • 3 of 5

The view outside is beautiful from this home. We enjoyed the tranquil setting with the view of the bald eagle soaring by and relaxing on the outside swing and canoeing on the lake. We also enjoyed our family time together once found the house- the house is set back and the address is only found on small print on the mailbox- and once we got past the initial reaction to the inside of the house. It needs additional cleaning beyond that of the cleaning from one visitor to the next. The vent in the bathroom was very dirty, carpet in the front bedroom was stained, towels were clean, but stained. The kitchen needs some organization and some additional cleaning - It did have all kinds of cooking utensils and plenty of dishes, but we had to really search for dish towels and we never found another trash bag. The main floor couches were comfortable. Downstairs, the futon bed was also stained and the entire downstairs had an interesting (not great) smell to it. The house also looks larger in pictures than in reality. There are two bathrooms, although the second bathroom is part of the small downstairs bedroom. It was an interesting, and not practical setup for more than two families. The upstair loft was nice for the tv, but not great for sleeping. It was not a pull out bed. There was a blowup mattress available, but we did not use it. We had beautiful weather and would have enjoyed the home itself, if more attention was paid to the inside of the home.

Beautiful lake, nice home

  • 4 of 5

So we are spoiled by a regular VRBO rental we usually get so this was ok but not a fave. Nice rustic home, we rented for a scrapbook retreat and it worked out well. Decent beds, clean linen, kitchen was poorly stocked and a bit unsafe (kitchen shelves collapsed, broken glass everywhere). We did call and got a few more supplies. Couldn’t access dock or boats as dock was under water. BBQ unusable 😕?. So nice for a family but not one we will likely return to. Owner is very nice and responsive to emails

Army Visit worth every penny!

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at this beautiful log cabin for a week in March 2018. Our trip was planned to visit my 19yr. old son who is stationed in Ft. Lewis. The cabin had plenty of space for us to feel at home and relaxed. We traveled from the east coat with a group of 5. My son stayed with us while we visited for the week, giving us a grand total of 6. There was plenty of privacy for everyone. The view from the deck is absolutely gorgeous! The porch swing is very relaxing!. My wife is a chef and raised the boys on home cooked meals. We had a goal to invite a bunch of soldiers back to the house for a home cooked meal. We hosted a dinner for my son and 13 of his Army buddies. There was plenty of room in the kitchen to cook the large meal and plenty of room to the guys to enjoy. The smile on their faces was priceless! They were thankful for our hard work in the kitchen ! The host was very accommodating and worked with my family very well. He was a great host. The directions provided to the house from Sea-Tac airport were perfect. Check-in was very smooth. The only negative comments that I could even say are as follows... Water pressure at the house is a little low but nothing that was too serious. The bath towels were not very nice. Two were tattered and another had several stains on it. We actually ended up going out and buying a few new bath towels. We ended up giving them to my son after we left ( apparently he needed a few nice towels at the barracks!) None of these minor issues would keep me from renting this cabin again. Overall a great trip for our first time to the west coast! I would love to come back in the summer time and have the opportunity to use the amazing Lake!

Post Christmas Family Reunion

  • 3 of 5

Our vacation did not get to a great start due to a mistake in the cleaner's scheduling. We walked into a house that had not been cleaned after the last tenant left that morning, and all the linen were in a heap in front of the washer /Dryer! We spent the first night doing several loads of laundry , sweeping and cleaning the kitchen. We were also not able to reach anyone for assistance.

However, when Troy read my email the next morning, he was apologetic and reasonable in his response. He got to contact the cleaner to clarify and rectify the situation. Cassie the cleaner was totally sorry for her error and did what she could to assist.

Troy also kindly gave us a small refund to make up for the trouble and inconvenience. Overall, no serious harm was done and our children showed what family is all about with everyone pitching in to help out on that first night. We did enjoy our stay after all.

The Log house is an attractive property. It does however need touch ups, updating and refreshing. I think it would be great for a Summer break.
