3 BR, 2 BA log home with 3,000 sq ft. Located on quiet fishing/boating lake.

RECENT UPDATES:

- Two new 32" Roku Smart TVs (can watch your Netflix, AmazonPrime, Hulu, HBOGo, etc.)

- New dining table that can fit 8 to 10 people.

- Restock of kitchen (new silverware, 8 more place settings, new pots/pans set, etc.)

- New pillowtop mattress and box spring in third bedroom ("kids" room)

- New patio furniture set

- Added hand railings on walk to lake

- New outdoor lighting making it easier to navigate walkway to front door

- Currently upgraded to larger cable selection, including HBO

- New flooring in basement

- Air purifier in basement

- New bathroom vanity and upgraded faucets

INSIDE THE HOUSE:

3 bedroom, 2 bathroom. 2 living rooms and 1 loft (600 sq. feet). Fully furnished.

TVs: The upstairs TV (57") is set up with cable (plus HBO), a DVD player, and a variety of DVDs. We recently installed two new TVs (32") that are both Roku Smart TVs. These TVs do not have cable or a DVD player connected. Instead, you can sign in with subscriptions you might have with Netflix, AmazonPrime, Hulu, HBOGo, your cable provider, etc.

Wireless internet with upgraded speed and reliable connection. Variety of board games and books available.

Sleeps a total of 8 in pre-set-up beds.

Washer and dryer on site. Propane fireplace.

Kitchen includes oven, electric stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, blender, kettle, and all necessary utensils/glassware.

House includes linens, blankets, bath towels, and pillows.

OUTSIDE THE HOUSE:

Property located on half acre. Medium bank walk to private dock for fishing, lounging, or tying your boat up to. Use of 16 foot 3-person canoe included (note that amenities section below says "kayak/canoe"; however that is a preset category we can check, and we only have a canoe). 2 fire pits (one in front yard and one on waterfront). Grassy area (approximately 45 foot by 15 foot) on bulkhead waterfront (weather permitting – during high rain season, the water levels are variable and can impact the bulkhead landscaping). 8 foot x 45 foot covered deck overlooking lake with log swing. Hammock overlooking lake. Large propane BBQ. Table and chairs on deck (new patio set since picture was taken).

Lake (approximately 270 acres and 10 miles of shoreline) stocked with bass and trout. Lake split into a speed boat area and no-wake zones; house is ideally located near speed area, but on no-wake zone. Also conveniently located near boat launch.

Wildlife can be seen throughout the year, including bald eagles, owls, otters, heron, hawks, and a variety of birds. Hummingbird feeder with regular visitors.

IN THE AREA:

Approximately 100 miles of running/biking trails in area (Ranier-Tenino trail, Chehalis Western trail). Shopping, dining, theatres, and full city amenities within 15 minutes (Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater, and Yelm). Skiing at Crystal Mountain, White Pass, Snoqualmie Pass, and Stevens Pass (all within 1.5 to 3.5 hours). Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, the Cascade Mountains, and the Olympic Peninsula all provide great hiking, camping, and wine tasting (all within 2 to 3 hours). A quick trip to Seattle's Pike Place Market, Space Needle, Seahawks, Mariners, etc. is only 45 to 60 minutes away. Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM) is conveniently located about 15 to 30 minutes away.

OTHER INFORMATION:

From time to time we have stocked the house with fishing poles, camping chairs, life jackets, etc. Some of these items may be there during your stay; however, they tend to get lost, stolen, broken often enough that it's hard to keep them stocked all the time.

Very nice stay at cabin.

We really enjoyed our time at your cabin. Sitting on the deck, overlooking the lake was very relaxing. We even had a "fly by" by a bald eagle.

False advertising

Our group of friends all own boats and when we look for vacation rentals it is our top priority. When I arrived at house my first impression was WOW,this house is nice but then I looked at dock.The dock was split in half and basically unusable.I thought to myself how are we gonna dock our boats.I called my friend and told him to leave his boat home or he would half to trailer it after every use and keep in mind,I paid full amount on a cabin that advertised with pictures of entire house and dock (intact).So my question to Home away and the owner Why are you false advertising.Owner and me had emailed each other for 2 months prior and he knew we had boats and was very adamant about the dock and fishing and swimming from it,he never called or made an effort to let me know about it but instead took the full amount from me.This is not right and unacceptable.Home away is this how you do buisness?T he stove top didn't work either and the neighbor had to come fix the kitchen sink.So,as you can tell the dock ruined our weekend and the owner won't compensate us for his HUGE mistake.

Owner's Response: To future renters: The dock did break a hinge and was more of an "L" shape rather than a "I" shape. It happened right before they came, and was fixed as quickly as someone could come out (so it is fixed now). It seems like the renter wanted to use this as a reason to try to get a lot of money back. Unfortunately, our neighbors specifically took a picture of them using the dock perfectly fine during their stay - both with their boat, chairs, and playing/fishing. The feedback we got was that it didn't appear to affect them at all. In addition, the renters that stayed before confirmed that the stove top worked for them, and my neighbor confirmed that it worked during and after their stay. The sink did leak, but it was fixed within 2 hours of us hearing about it. As written in the review, VRBO (basically a third party) heard both sides of the story and immediately closed the complaint without any negative action towards us.

Nice lake home

This is a beautiful log home with a great lake view, but could use some updating and minor repairs. Some quirky things, but still fine for what we needed. Kitchen was well-stocked with cookware and utensils. Beds were very comfortable. Gas fireplace was nice touch but not working correctly and smelled too much of gas, and light above beautiful big dining table kept flickering. Front door handle didn't work from the inside, so we had to use side door to go out. No big deal, but why wasn't it fixed before it was rented? Overall comfortable, though, and a great weekend getaway.

What an enjoyable time...

We truly enjoyed our stay at the log cabin on the lake. So much better than getting hotel rooms. I was nervous at first with 11 of us staying in a place with only two bathrooms. But, it was not a problem. Our group, 4 adults and 7 children, had ample space and a lot of fun. Thanks for your hospitality!

Nice place to stay when you need a lot of room!

Our family enjoyed our stay at your home and the beautiful lake view. The house was very cozy and surprisingly warm inside. My only suggestion would be that you make sure there are plenty of linens in the house when you know you have a large number of folks staying. There were 10 of us and only 5 bath towels - no extra sheets or pillow cases either. So showering and setting up extra spots to sleep where a small challenge. Thank you again for having your house available for things like this.

Beautiful space and view

This property provided exactly what I pictured which was a beautiful log cabin on a lake. The only negatives I have is that the cabin was not kept up as well as it could be, for instance some of the sheets had stains as did some of the towels, lot's of the kitchen utensils such as the can opener didn't work and should probably be sorted through. Lastly we were hopeful to use the fire pit down by the lake but there was a lot of overgrowth making it uncomfortable to sit down there and potential fire hazard. All of the negatives seem like they could be remedied very simply and the positive such as the woodworking in the cabin ,the space, the deck overlooking the lake etc. Would even more overshadow any negatives that could arise.
