Overview

About the property

Located in the center of Durango's Historic downtown

This charming condo is located in the historic Jarvis Building in the center of downtown Durango, on the corner of historic Main Street. It was entirely renovated in 2013. This building has plenty of history that you can learn about during your stay. There are wood floors throughout and the option of heat or air-conditioning, depending on your needs. (Permit #13-053)

There is one bedroom with a queen bed, ceiling fan and heat/air-conditioning. The bathroom has been recently renovated where every item was replaced, including all fixtures, shower, toilet, sink, paint and flooring. The original brick walls are exposed on one wall where you will see a fire from years ago uniquely staining some of the brick.

The kitchen is newly renovated as well with wood cabinets, stainless steel appliances, wood floors and granite countertops.

The living room has wood floors, heat/air-conditioning, a flat screen television that rotates so that you can view it from multiple locations in the room, 2 new couches, and a small dining table. The high ceilings in this condo give a great feel of space, even though this unit is about 500 square feet. Along with the great location of this condo, you also have a designated parking space so you never have to pay a meter, and in fact, you don't even need a car with the trolley transportation and the central location!

This condo has only 3 stairs to climb to enter the front door. There isn't a washer/dryer, but the laundromat, grocery store, liquor store, Rite Aide, breakfast restaurant, and Baskin Robbins is located behind the condo and across the street. The Durango Steam Train tracks are less than a block away, but the train follows a very strict schedule and doesn't leave until 9 am in the morning, runs about 3 times in the summer and is back by 5pm. There isn't a train in the evening or night since this train does not run for any purpose other than a tourism experience!

***Cleaning fee is $145 from June 1st through September 30th. VRBO does not offer this to reflect in the quote...but our costs go up in the summer for labor so your reservation will reflect this.***

**If you pay with a credit card that is out of the country we will be charged $10 extra for each transaction. The renter will have this amount added to the final balance, or kept from their deposit refund since this is not a cost that I calculated in our prices. You may choose to pay by check or an American credit card to avoid this.**

Wonderful location!

Just right for a couple for a few days. Everything is very comfortable--bed and couches. Shower, kitchen and TV work well. Parking and location are perfect. Very quiet at night.

Comfy and convenient!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here while visiting my brother at Fort Lewis. The location was great, we woke up every morning and took a walk to get coffee. The bed was very comfortable and soft and my dad said the pull out bed was comfortable as well.

Great stay! Very cozy.

  • 5 of 5

Condo was just the right size for us, 2 adults. It had everything we needed. Since it was right downtown, we were able to walk to most places that we wanted to visit. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Will definitely stay here again.

We would stay here again. Well stocked kitchen. Grocery store just around the corner. Super place to spend the Christmas weekend and visit with our Ft Lewis College student.

Fantastic option for downtown Durango

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time staying at any place other than a hotel in Durango and we loved it. The central location was perfect and the dedicated parking space makes it super convenient. While the downtown partiers made it a little loud on the weekend, we were prepared and had some noise cancelling apps to drown it all out. The place was comfortable and the directions provided for TV, heat/air were super helpful. While it may bother some, we woke up giggling every morning when our daily Durango alarm clock was the Silverton train blowing it's whistle. It's compact but very clean, with lots of extras for those who want to cook while staying. We're considering an extended stay within the next 6 mos if we can make everything work out.
