About the property

Custom Log Home full of Amenities and Access to Lake Michigan

This is what dreams are made of! This custom log home is situated on over an acre, elevated wooded lot surrounded by trees. Stroll through the woods to the deck overlooking stunning Lake Michigan. This home is located near some of the most beautiful white beach shoreline, located just North of Charlevoix.

Located only short walk to historic Michigan Avenue and downtown Charlevoix you can walk to town or choose to ride one of our several bikes, and be there in minutes!

No cost was spared in building this one of a kind log home, constructed with rare, enormous 1 1/2 foot wide Maple logs and 2 large field stone fireplaces that run floor to ceiling… this home is truly unique. Surround yourself with warm, custom touches throughout, including reclaimed hardwood flooring, forged iron hardware, 2 custom stone fireplaces, a 30' x 8' deck that overlooks the woods and Lake Michigan, comfortable outdoor furniture and a free standing double hammock for those lazy afternoons listening to the waves lap against the shoreline and the rustling of the leaves on the trees. But we didn't stop there...the kitchen sports brand new, high-end stainless steel appliances; high end coffee maker, a commercial blender for afternoon margaritas and a fully supplied kitchen for the cook in you!

The living area is awash warm furnishings including leather seating, warm tones and wood furniture. Three floors of living space and an open floor plan make the home feel much larger than it is. The main level has the kitchen, two bedrooms with queen beds, a full bath, a large dining room and living room .

The third level is where the master suite is located; this VERY private level of the home has custom built closets, a claw foot tub, stand up shower and a king size bed with all new bedding including: high thread count sheets and brand new, designer bedding and hypoallergenic foam pillows. Just outside the master suite is a large reading loft and seating area great for reading that Summer novel, or work while you vacation, with printer and high speed internet.

The bottom floor is meant for kids! With two sets of custom log bunk beds, (queen over queen), a full bath, seating area to play the Wii or watch movies as well as a closet full of board games, playing cards, Legos and more! The bottom floor also has a walk out patio with seating and the custom field stone fireplace for those cool evenings.

There is plenty more outside, including a basketball hoop, stainless steel grill and custom detached wooden deck for roasting smores over the fire pit, lounging below the tree line or drinking wine with family and friends. Two car garage sports 4 adult bikes and one kid’s bike, and a myriad of outdoor gear.

Also Included throughout: all new bedding with high thread count, designer bedding, hi-speed internet/wifi, cable TV, phone, washer and dryer, Wii, chairs for the beach, beach towels, coolers and a second refrigerator for drinks in the garage. You will want for nothing in this beautiful custom home.

About Amy Moini

I was raised in Michigan, but have lived in Dallas since 1993. I have always loved Charlevoix and have vacationed along Lake Michigan my entire life. Having this home in Charlevoix has always been my dream, and now our reality. We want to share our love of our Log Cabin and Charlevoix with others. It's such a rare find, and perfect setting. The best of both worlds includes proximity to town, yet privacy and wooded setting on the beach, is what makes this such a special home.

My husband is from San Antonio. He loves Charlevoix as much as I do and has a unique perspective on it's beauty! Our kids love being here but our active lives makes it impossible to spend the entire Summer here, so we are sharing it with you!

Amy Moini purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Amy Moini chose Charlevoix

Location; privacy, proximity to the beach and downtown Charlevoix and over an acre of woods!

What makes this cabin unique

There is no warmer rental home in the area. Everything is very high quality.

Beautiful home with everything we needed!

  • 5 of 5

The host checked in with me within hours of being there to make sure we got in and had everything we needed. The home was beautiful and was stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable and convenient stay. Great layout worked for me being there with my parents and my kids. Short walk to the water, great view from the porch, close to Downtown. The home is as it was represented in the photos and description.

Beautiful Home!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I take a trip to Northern Michigan every summer with 3 other couples (and this year, one 6 month old). Everyone was so pleased with the house, it was absolutely perfect for a cozy weekend up north. The house is beautiful and all of the rooms are clean and well appointed. The deck and fire pit are fantastic with incredible views of the woods. We would absolutely come back for another visit. It really feels like your own personal log cabin in the woods, not a cold and impersonal rental. Check in and out is also super easy. Great stay!

BEST SUMMER TRIP EVER!!!! We relaxed, we fished, we boated, we climbed and we will return!!

  • 5 of 5

This very spacious REAL LOG CABIN nestled in the tall trees of Lake Charlevoix was a truly needed getaway. The owners, Amy and Robert, were amazing as they recommended some awesome adventures! Daily we walked down to view the lake right on the property. Coffee in hand in the am; wine in the evening! My husband ran alongside the water and I had a chance to do my yoga. 2 nights we snuck in Smores & roasted hot dogs over the bonfire as listened to some cool old tunes. On Thursday we walked into town to visit weekly local Farmers Market and bought amazing local veggies, fruit, herbs, maple syrup, meat and fish! Can't get any fresher than that! Our travel adventures took us up to Petoskey for some fun shopping then onto Mackinac Island(Bucket List) then onto the unbelievable Tahquamenon Falls State Park(another Bucket List)...we even crossed over into Canada just to stamp our passports! All this was a 1 day adventure--so close to the cabin! The next day we headed south towards Traverse City to visit a few wineries and breweries--GREAT food & drink was had at all of them! Later that day we drove to Sleeping Bear Dunes to get our workout in (equal to a 5K!)as we climbed it and sat and watched the sunset.

The next day we rented a pontoon and hung out on the blissful lake--NO SALT and NO SHARKS! The guys rented a jet ski and had a great time. Still we had enough energy that day to relax on the big beach near town and enjoy some yummy sandwiches from another great place Amy and Robert recommended.

The cabin itself was spacious yet so cozy. The kitchen was stocked with everything I needed to cook some yummy meals and my daughter absolutely loved the reading nook. All the appliances--stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer --were high end and made the week so much smoother...we cannot wait to return next summer. We still have long list of things to check off the bucket list so we are so excited to return!! (...Lavender Farm, Cherry Picking, Apple Picking, Maple Syrup Farm....and of course more wineries....)

Thank you Amy and Robert for sharing your little piece of paradise with so many!!

decent location, overpriced

  • 2 of 5

My family stayed in this house in July 2017. The positives: good location and peaceful surroundings in the woods The negatives: inside the house was dirty (cluttered), outside the chairs and porch were very dirty, dirt all over everything, it was a big mess. There were weeds everywhere as the owners don't take care of their property. The beach access was not as advertised, it is a very steep climb down to the beach, anyone under 5 or over 70 would not make it. Also, the description says it is a 5 min walk to a public beach. This is NOT true, it is a 12-14 minute walk to the public beach. We found out just days before the owner doesn't allow you to sit at the beach where the house has access..so once you make the treacherous climb down to the beach (thru a trail and down 50 or so very steep stairs, you have to walk another 12 minutes. with small kids with a lot of stuff this gets old quickly. I think the pictures and description of the house do not accurately portray the condition of the home or access to the beach. Walking into Charlevoix is 1.2 miles, however, if you have small kids the first .4 miles is on a very busy road with no sidewalks or even shoulder, so having our children go into town on bikes was so nerve racking the first time we ended up driving the rest of the week. Would I rent this home again? Possibly, if it was all adults under 70, no children, the owners cleaned up the outside and inside of the home and the price was cut in 1/2 (or more) I would consider it. If you don't fall into these demographics and can't negotiate a lower price, then stay away.

Owner's Response: We are sorry you were not happy with your stay. When you rent a home near town during the Venetian festival you should be prepared for the traffic, even on generally low traffic streets. Your complaints about our home being dirty are surprising since we followed up after your arrival and you stated "house is great" and opted to stay an extra night. Frankly, We can't fix issues are not made aware of. Our home was left by the Moore's was in poor condition, and required 2 cleanings and a sanitization. There were many other issues I won't mention. After 5 years of sharing our home with amazing families and guests, (our reviews speak for themselves), you get someone you wish had passed on. The red flags were there. We sincerely hope if you come back to Charlevoix you find what meets your needs. Clearly our home will not. Best of luck.
