Why Don Clahassey chose Spring Lake

This is a uniquely styled home that has beach/water views. There is something to do for everyone. You can relax inside and watch Lake Michigan or take a short walk to the beach and walk on one of West Michigan's nicest stretches of sandy beach. It is also centrally located and just a short 10 minute drive to Grand Haven, but being on North Shore offers a much quieter respite from noise and traffic. Muskegon is about 15 minutes north with plenty of shops and restaurants. The area provides golf, tennis, water sports and a large amusement park (Michigan's Adventure). Once you experience the area there is a good chance you'll decide to come back on a regular basis.

Great rental for families!!

  • 5 of 5

We rent a cottage with our best friends every year as we have young children the same ages. It is hard to find a place where 2 families can stay together, but still have some private separate space. This cottage was perfect as there is a living room, bathroom and 2 bedrooms on the lower level, and the same configuration upstairs plus the large kitchen, full sized living room, and additional den/tv room. Everyone had their own space, the kids could watch a movie without bothering the adults, and we all slept well! The cottage is well stocked with everything you need such as kitchen basics, laundry needs, and beach equipment. So far each year we rent a cottage somewhere on lake Michigan, but never in the same town or cottage twice, but we would consider renting here again because it was so comfortable. Also Don, the property manager was quick to respond to any questions and check on us throughout the week .

Great place for a vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My family tried our first venture north of the river at Grand Haven. After 8 years going to Grand Haven this rental was so much better than our past rentals. The home was clean and lots of rooms and bathrooms (2.5). Even more importantly the lake is just across the street over a sand dune a short walk way. No more the crowded beach and trying to find a parking spot. Eating outside on the porch looking over the trees was so peaceful. The loudest noises were when a neighbor had a tree trimmed for half an hour or so. Beautiful views of the sunsets or storms off the lake from the living room. Having a fire on the beach and watching the stars on a cool August night was great. On cold/wet days we stayed in and everyone had enought room, you did not feel like your were ontop of anyone. The owner is great. Any questions are answered quickly and Don even checked on us by phone after the first night to make sure we were happy. We hope to be there again in 2014.

North Shore Rental

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week at this North Shore rental. The house was laid out perfect for our family. Master and smaller bedroom upstairs, and two more downstairs. The view from the living room, looking across at Lake Michigan was beautiful. Short walk over the hill to a great beach right on the lake. We had pretty decent weather and the swimming was great. The deck on the back of the house was shaded and enclosed (we had a two year old with us, so it was safe), nice place to rest in the afternoon and evening. We were able to grill meals, the grill was very nice. The kitchen was well stocked, most everything we needed. We hope to stay again next year! The owner was very pleasant to work with.

Great and affordable rental house just across the street from Lake Michigan!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful long weekend at this house in Grand Haven. It is in an area of very nice homes along the lakeshore. We had the beach to ourselves, and the kids enjoyed playing in the sand and having a campfire at night. The house itself is just as advertised. The living space, kitchen, and dining areas are spacious and clean. The bedrooms are small, but provide privacy and separation for the two families that were staying there. The owner is very easy to work with. The house has everything you need, including a nice grill on the deck, washer and dryer just off the kitchen area, and even a ping pong table in the unfinished basement! This house is more reasonably priced than many other similar houses in the area, most likely because it is across the street from the beach instead of right on the beach. However, this house has a pathway down to the beach directly across the street, so there is a nice view and very easy beach access. We will likely be back and hope to stay longer next time!
