A CULTURED PEARL is created when man acts as a catalyst with the environment to produce something of natural beauty. A befitting name for this luxurious property, a human/nature collaboration that is one of the finest homes you will ever experience. The 'Pearl' is so special- it becomes the vacation.
Architectural curves and an abundance of windows produce breathtaking views, like those from the Captain’s Suite on a luxury ship. The rolling waves outside, almost within reach, are an extension of the Pearl's living area where you'll observe beautiful sunrises, lightning storms offshore at night, dolphin spotting, and maybe even the blow spray of a migrating whale with her newborn calf.
The Pearl’s user-friendly, open floor plan is approximately 4,000 sq. ft. of premium but practical air conditioned space. The total area of 7,600 sq. ft. includes plentiful water-view balconies and terraces, and two-car electric garage. This 4-story home is very private and may be accessed by the open, winding, travertine staircase or by taking the custom elevator. Vaulted ceilings and designer finishes throughout provide the ultimate quality and comfort for your rental party to relax and reconnect.
LEVEL 1 begins at the main entry on the ground floor featuring a table that seats 4 (game night or poker?), a den with flat screen TV and large, plush, sectional sofa, a wet-bar with sink, and exterior doors that walk out onto the beach. The spacious designer bedroom on level 1 has a queen bed and built-in bunk beds with two twins, a walk-in closet, and built-in shelving. There is a full bathroom designated for the bedroom and an additional half bath for the convenience of others.
LEVEL 2/MAIN LIVING AREA has open ceilings and an expansive wall of windows overlooking the ocean. Along this vista from left to right is the living room circular-seating area, the dining room, and a bar-top adjoining the kitchen, all with spectacular views of the water below. The gourmet kitchen wraps around with a master chef-style food prep area, just before the elevator doors. In front of the living room is another cozy seating area with gas fireplace and coquina hearth that merges into the media room, featuring more comfortable seating and a large - flat screen - smart TV with multi-media function and master control panel. Level 2 also has a guest bedroom with queen bed, walk-in closet, and a full bathroom. The main living area is expansive with mostly exterior walls, many of which are windows. Natural light floods in from all directions including from above, as the interior core of the Cultured Pearl is an open atrium between floors. The oceanfront deck at Level 2 includes an outdoor stainless gas grill near the kitchen.
BEACH ACCESS may be gained from the stairway off the Level 2/Main Living Area oceanfront deck , or from exterior doors on Level 1 at ground level. From the back yard there are additional stairs down to the sand below, all in very close proximity to the house.
LEVEL 3 is exclusive to the master suite, master bathroom, and large walk-in closet. The king bed overlooks yet another panel of sea-view windows curving into a large coquina hearth with gas fireplace. There are dual sinks in the ample master bathroom with an over-sized, walk-in His & Her shower and separate freestanding bathtub. A center partial privacy wall conceals the secluded master TV room with two comfy chairs, perfect to finish watching the game while she gets ready, or enjoy a “couples’ night” movie away from the crowd.
LEVEL 4 has an observation room/bonus area and elegant half bathroom. However, the primary feature atop this exclusive home is the expansive rooftop terrace. This very large, travertine tile patio runs the entire length of the home from east to west offering spectacular ocean and river views from either side. The 4th floor oasis includes a food and drink prep area with sink, a full-sized bar top serving area, built-in outdoor table and seating, and an outdoor fireplace with stone chimney. Here, above it all, is the perfect vacation environment for morning sunrise coffee, afternoon sunning in total privacy, a glass of wine at sunset, and star gazing at night.
Although you may choose to never leave this stunning property, if you decide to venture out New Smyrna Beach is a small coastal barrier island so everything is very close by. One of the most popular ‘local’ restaurants is JB's Fish Camp on the river just two blocks away- famous for waterfront dining on area seafood while watching manatee and dolphin at sunset. ("Local" means wear shorts and flip flops to fit in.) JB's is also the place to charter a flats fishing boat guide, or rent kayaks and stand-up paddle boards for up-close manatee and dolphin experiences in the calm and shallow Intracoastal Waterway.
From the Pearl it is a short 4 miles to the first small shopping area, 6 miles to the modern grocery store and some of the finest restaurants, and only 1 mile further to all the shops, restaurants, boutiques, ice cream, gourmet coffee, and nightlife on the town’s main street, Flagler Avenue. After a day of shopping or night on the town there is only a brief, 10-minute drive and you’re back at the Cultured Pearl house.
In the other direction from the property about a quarter-mile to the south is the Canaveral National Seashore, 57,000 acres of National Park with a 24-mile long beach, the longest undeveloped beach on Florida’s east coast. This conservation area is a great place to explore natural wildlife, Native American artifacts, and pristine beaches with large-grained sand piled into natural dunes. The Seashore is the birthing place for hundreds of sea turtles that hatch in late summer and early fall. It is home to 13 species of endangered animals including the southern bald eagle, and sandwiched between the ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway there are plenty of spots to see manatees and dolphin. Cape Canaveral is located on the other side of the preserve so be sure to have your camera ready to capture any rocket launches, as they are always spectacular! (Check launch schedules online.)
There are miles of world famous, beautiful beaches in New Smyrna Beach and beach driving is allowed on the northern end of the island, although not at the southern area where the Pearl is located. Water-taxis provide transport to the light house and waterfront restaurants in the area while bicycle taxis will get you from the shops to the restaurants around Flagler Avenue. World class flats fishing, open water fishing, surf casting, and golfing are very popular activities, and there is a bowling alley and movie theater as well.
The town's two main streets are often blocked off for events including "Wine Walks," art fairs, jazz festivals, antique car shows, and holiday parades. Items for rent and purchase include boogie boards, surf boards, stand-up paddle boards, kayaks, beach cruiser bikes, scooters, golf carts, and fishing gear. Local restaurants are excellent and there is so much quality and variety you'll be challenged to visit them all. There are at least 4 nightclubs with dancing and music, and several bars for after-hours activities.
NSB is just one hour from the major city of Orlando with world class shopping, professional sports teams, performing arts, and the best theme parks in the country. Unlike some other beaches frequented by spring breakers, NSB is a family oriented town with a local culture rich in character and charm. As a result, every year New Smyrna Beach is voted the "Best Beach" in Central Florida by Floridians, and the town has received national and international recognition in publications such as National Geographic (top 20 surf towns in world), Outdoor Magazine (top 10 beaches), and USA Today's "10 Best." Recently, Coastal Living rated NSB number 5 of 10 "Best Little Surf Towns in America," Travel & Leisure Magazine" put us on their list of top 15 "World's Coolest Surf Towns," and CNN featured NSB as #3 of 7 waterfront towns to visit.
