Quaint Vermont home nestled in the mountains with views and attractions nearby
About Colin Phillips
I grew up in this house in Fayston where I spent the first 18 years of my life exploring and enjoying this wonderful area. I currently live in the Mad River Valley and am able to be on site for any of your needs. I love to enjoy all of the outdoor activities that the area has to offer as well as relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet of our home. I'd love to share our home and experience what is so special about this area.
Colin Phillips purchased this House in 1986
Why Colin Phillips chose Waitsfield
This property was passed on to me as I never wanted to lose my connection to the Mad River Valley. This is a special place where many people come and decide to make it a home of their own, and I love to share that experience with others. With the hiking/biking/and cross country skiing trails at the top of the road, and the nature setting of my property, I love being here.
What makes this House unique
You will love sitting on the back porch enjoying your morning coffee and watching the birds. The occasional moose and deer have been known to pass through the back yard and it offers everything a nature lover could want. There is nothing better than to come home to my house after a long day of skiing or snowshoeing in the winter and sit next to the fireplace and watch the snow fall out the windows.

Springtime in Vermont
Colin has a warm and comfortable home with an expansive backyard and patio to enjoy the spring weather. There are beautiful trails within an easy walk up the road. It is also a short drive into town for shopping and restaurants.
The home is well equipped as promised. The two bedrooms upstairs and the living are very spacious. There is also a third bedroom on the main floor which is convenient.
We would certainly return again to enjoy all the seasons of Vermont. Thanks Colin!
Very cozy house!
Classic Vermont country experience. Perfect for our needs (three couples). Very close to Sugarbush and Lawson's Finest liquids... who could ask for more?
Colin was an excellent host. Very well organized. Thoroughly answered advance questions which helped in our planning. Check-in checklist was flawless. Will definitely be back again!
cozy, clean Waitsfield home
Colin's property was perfect for our family's weekend stay in Waitsfield. The house was cozy and clean and fully stocked for cooking meals in. We appreciated being able to bring our dog, Scout, and enjoyed walking the nearby trails at the end of the road. The location was very close to shopping and restaurants but private and off the main road. Thanks for a great stay!
Homey cabin with 3 bedrooms
If you are looking for a place with 3 bedrooms 2 baths, and a homey atmosphere, check this out. We enjoyed relaxing here after hard days on the slopes. Well stocked and many personal touches. Hideaway restaurant nearby had great food.
Sweet Retreat Near Sugarbush in the Mad River Valley
This mountain cottage is serenely located in the Mad River Valley above (what I believe to be ) a tributary of the Mad River---so yes, when outside (particularly @ night) you get the enchanting sounds of that rushing stream. The house is ~10 minutes to Lincoln Peak SugarBush or MRGlen bases (even faster to the Mt Ellen base). It's amazingly compact and incredibly comfortable, all at once. The kitchen is stocked with all manner of cooking equipment, great appliances (including 2 ovens + microwv) and a cabinet full of spices. The beds are very comfy; the baths updated and clean. The family room is the perfect place to rest one's ski-weary bones (or bike-weary, or whatever other type of weary you've got after an adventurous day in the MRV). We were here in snow-covered March, but as a gardener I peaked around the frosty property and can tell it must be heavenly June-Sept! Here's the kicker...this sweet spot has a book collection that probably rivals that of the Public Lib in Burlington. From Plato & Spinoza to Chuck Thompson, Michael Ontdaatje, and Lisa See. Forgot your book or Kindle? No problem! There's a read for you on the many packed shelves. Clean, well-equipped, comfy/cozy; and if that wasn't enough, consider that the owner is a native of the Valley so is incredibly helpful and just great to work with. LongStoryShort---no matter the season, this fairy-tale sort of cottage in the legendary Mad River Valley is one exceptionally sweet place to stay.
Unique, comfortable and cozy. Well equipped kitchen.
The property is located in Fayston Vermont right nestled in the Mad River Valley. Minutes drive from both Sugarbush and Mad River Ski areas with plenty of restaurants, attractions, and things to do during your stay.
