About the property

Views toward ocean and water features of Shores

We welcome you to our sanctuary at the Shores of Waikoloa, a truly unique setting within this beach side community. You will first notice the lush tropical landscape filled with bright colors, waterfalls, large ponds and fountains. Our unit, #338, is on the top floor and easily accessed by an elevator (or stairs). A treehouse perspective, overlooking the gardens and with Anaehoomalu Bay visible through the trees you will immediately feel the Aloha Spirit. Vaulted ceilings and fans, cool tile and laminate wood floors throughout, enhance the spacious and relaxing quality of this large one bedroom condo. We have decorated the interior with several batiks from our travels in Southeast Asia adding a more tropical feel. The Shores condos offer the largest lanais among any of the Waikoloa properties. We invite you to stretch out at any time of day and plan your next move or simply unwind. This condo is so spacious and inviting, with privacy and intimacy you may never want to leave!

The pool and spa are a 100 yards walk but no sound reaches our unit. Outdoor barbecues are adjacent to our building and the tennis courts and fitness facility are about a four minute walk. The walking score is high as the Kings Shops, featuring fine dining and unique shops, are nearby. "A-bay" is one of the best beaches on the Big Island for water sports and if you like long walks on the beach you are bound to see sea turtles basking in the sun there.

We have created many indelible memories at our island getaway and we are happy to open our home so that you too can enjoy the magic and create your own lifetime memories during your visit. Aloha.

If you want to get some groceries, there is a store in the resort, Island Gourmet. Another choice is driving up to Waikoloa Village Market, approximately 8 miles up the hill. As you exit our complex, you can turn either direction as Waikoloa Beach Drive loops back to main entrance. You would go out to the highway and turn left at the light and then the first right at next light. It is a fun drive as you see some wild goats and various lava flows. Another nice walk is through the Hilton Waikoloa and we will often walk from the villa to the golf paths and walk around to the ocean side of the hotel. The Shores property offers privacy and intimacy. The walking score is high as the Kings Shops, featuring fine dining and unique shops, are nearby. 'A-bay' is one of the best beaches on the Big Island for water sports and if you like long walks on the beach you are bound to see sea turtles basking in the sun there.

Lots of room for a couple. Had all we needed. Good parking , pool and the location to areas on the island is good.

great Facility

  • 4 of 5

This is a really nice development. The only downside is that this is a no smoking property, even outdoors. Santa Monica to the thirteenth power!

Great location, nice, bright condo

  • 4 of 5

Perfect for my "mental health" break from the wicked winter in Western Washington. Condo is well located in Waikoloa near the Hilton. Easy distance to Kings and Queens shopping centers, A-Bay (Lava Lava!) and also to go up the coast. The reason it is 4 stars is the internet router became disabled due to the storm over the weekend. It is not the manager's fault; things like this happen. However since it was an "owner" issue, the router could not be replaced during last 2 days while there. Before that, the internet was great. It is password protected, great range and speed. I would definitely recommend this unit for a solo trip or for a couple wanting reasonable accommodations in a great location.

Owner's Response: We did have the router fail during Silvia's stay and called computer guy who came the next day after she left. We did offer her a credit because she was inconvenienced. Silvia left the unit very clean and we appreciate that! Aloha, Heidi

A happy paradise

  • 5 of 5

The unit was absolutely perfect for my wife and I. Sifting through all the fees, it's about 50% of the cost of the Hilton down the road- not including the money we saved by cooking our meals on site. It's maybe just under a half mile walk to a perfect lava rock bench for a panoramic oceanside sunset view.

The one time that we called Heidi, she picked up on the first ring and was polite and attentive. If any of my friends wanted input about Hawaii, I'd send them to this exact unit. I just hope it's available the next time my wife and I come back.

Great location; most kitchen items were there; good for morning sun

  • 4 of 5

Please contact Heidi Bogert for comments made to her as she is the person responsible for setting up the unit for rental. Other than a specific complaint made to Heidi, the unit was a good place to headquarter. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean!

A most wonderful Valentine's day birthday locale

  • 5 of 5

Our accommodations at The Shores was a well decorated comfortable condo with ample space and a lovely balcony/patio. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere in the evenings when we could sit on the balcony and admire the well-manicured property and the star-filled sky. Having a washer and dryer in the unit along with a full kitchen came in very handy. The complex has a centrally located pool and spa and 2 very scenic golf courses. It was nice to have several shops and restaurants close by and we made good use of those amenities. Overall, I would highly recommend a stay at The Shores and hope to make it back there in the future.

I would add that the location is ideal for walking to the Hilton and the Marriott beaches and bars and had we wanted to, Roy's and the Lava Lava Beach Club. The fact that there is a 'discount' on the local golf is an added bonus. It's close enough, too, for trips to helicopter tour, drive to Mauna Kea, and the fabulous local beaches. Having beach towels and chairs for the guests to use? BONUS! I would heartily recommend this place to others and echo the comment that we would definitely consider staying here again, next time! It was really hard to tear ourselves away from the place.
