Rest on the South West coast!
Monte Bacana is a truly unique location: on top of a 106 meter hill, with a nearly 180 degree uninterrupted horizon of the Atlantic. Because the house is oriented to the south one looks especially on the south coast, but also a piece of the coast, interspersed with views of fishermen and surfers village of Sagres. And on the lighthouse at Cape Sao Vicente. The house was built in 2010 by architect Monte Bacana is part of a former farmstead, the Monte de Santo Antonio de Cima, named after the hilltop Santo Antonio and the chapel, located at the foot of the hill, dedicated to the origin of Portuguese Saint Anthony (Padova), on the pilgrimage route to the Cape Sao Vicente, which was formerly a convent.
Monte Bacana has its own large, fenced off garden, so your kids or dog are not easily go away. For the business effect of modern, double glazed alumimium doors and windows in the outer walls, soften somewhat, is antique wooden interior and authentic, handmade floor tiles chosen. Upstairs the master bedroom and the bathroom is a spacious mezzanine with 3 beds and a cot. In the main house luxury amenities, such as WiFi and DVD player (but no washing machine).
All part of the region, the End of World "of Classics (Fim do Mundo) to the Algarve, it is still quiet and rural, and it will remain so. The area belongs namely since 1988 a National Nature Reserve (Parque Natural ..... Costa Vicentina), which at the time introduced a general freeze in the outer areas. The garden and a large horse pasture after his recent 20 hectares of the 35 passable farmland of the old Monte left to the whims of nature. The site is intersected by streams, which provide interesting flora and fauna. From this private hiking can be undisturbed for the pine forests of Sagres or hike the many different beaches. The nearest beach is Ponta Ruiva. The nearest nudist beach is Praia das Furnas (between Raposeira and Figueira). Most of the 20 beaches that you can visit in a radius of 20 km, incidentally, are also accessible by car, such as the bodyboarders, surfers, windsurfers, kite surfers and fishermen know only too well.
The nearest village is Vila do Bispo, the capital of the 'percebes "(barnacles), with restaurants, a Lidl, a market, banks, police, fire and ambulance. A little further away Sagres (4 km, with Intermarche), including the fishing harbor and marina and the popular Fortaleza, where Henry the Navigator sent his young captains exploration. Nearby are admired Celtic menhirs, as well as Roman remains and probably also Moorish. Lagos is the nearest real town, about 25 km away. Here the usual tourist life begins to play out (night life).
From Monte Bacana you can see the sun rise from the sea and watch (in winter) are also in the sea. With a little luck you from the house also see a wide range of migratory birds which are preparing for the crossing to Africa or instead return. The Long Distance Footpath 'Via Algarviana' and Long Distance Cycle 'Ecovia do Algarve' come along our chapel. The view is breathtaking, with the chapel in the foreground and Sagres in the background the ocean with a lighthouse and around to the Fim do Mundo! For more photos, visit www. negracha. just
