About the property

3 bedroom, 2 Bath on Private Lake

We welcome you to our Family Cottage Home! Because our business is seasonal (Spring to Fall) we use our cottage mostly for winter fun. Therefore, we would like to invite you to enjoy our home during the summer time. It's beautiful, yet cozy and comfortable to relax and enjoy Michigan's Up North. It has 2 bedrooms upstairs (one with a full bed & one with a full bed and twin trundle underneath). The bunk house is in the basement with 2 full beds and 2 twin beds. There is a full bath on both levels. Pool table & flat screen TV in the basement! The basement has 2 large sliders with walk out to the lake. The lake is a private, sandy bottom, no wake lake - great fishing, kayaking, swimming. Ideal location for families- many playgrounds around the lake that are within walking distance, washer & dryer on the main floor, basketball court & baseball fields within a mile. Great bike riding & awesome hiking trails in the Manistee National Forest/North Country Trail a few miles away! A whole new set of adventures awaits you 20 minutes north to Traverse City - casino, State Parks, Lake Michigan, Grand Traverse Bay, wineries, breweries, restaurants, shopping, outlet mall. Within 40 minutes is Sleepy Bear Sand Dunes, voted the most beautiful place in America by Good Morning America in 2011! Attached garage, paved driveway on paved road with plenty of parking.

About Kelley Young

We live in Ravenna, Michigan. Trevor grew up here, taught here for 7 years until buying S. Hecksel Farm Drainge from his Uncle. He installs drainage tile and waterways. Kelley works part time as a Nurse Practitioner here. We love year round fun in Michigan, especially with our kids.

Kelley Young purchased this house in 2013

Why Kelley Young chose Michigan

We bought this cottage because of it's unique location to Traverse City. We wanted someplace within 2 hours of home and access to snowmobile trails. We enjoy Traverse City and all it has to offer, having spent many holidays in the area in the past.

Awesome family get-away!

  • 5 of 5

We just stayed for a week (2 adults, 2 kids) and we can't say enough wonderful things. The home was well equipped with many amenities, great dock for swimming and boating and was super clean and well maintained. Kids enjoyed hours of swimming, floating and paddle boating. The lake has great fishing which included many bass (21 incher caught), crappie and northern pike. If you want to leave this wonderful place it is a really short trip to Traverse City to visit Lake Michigan or catch a baseball game. Great home, great owners and great location! We can't wait to go back again next year!

Loved our stay

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough good things about this home or its owners. The home was really, really nice and was well stocked with all the necessities- pots and pans, linens, etc. It was decorated nicely- it felt like we were in our own home. The dock was nice and my husband caught some really nice largemouth bass off of it. There are bikes for the kids to ride- in fact, my five year old hopped on one without training wheels and learned to ride without training wheels in the garage while it rained outside! We would definitely, definitely stay here again. It was our first time visiting Michigan and we really enjoyed our stay. The owners are really nice and easy to work with, too.

This wonderful house is centrally located to Traverse City, nature parks, the dunes, etc. The house was clean and well cared for with an abundance of amenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would highly recommend it.
