About Jack

I built this Lake house in 2008 for friends and family to enjoy the lake. I used a plan that was very open and well lit. My son is now playing travel baseball and I am not able to use the property as much as I would like. My misfortune is your gain.

Jack purchased this house in 2005

Why Jack chose Hartwell Lake

This property has an open floor plan and room for 10 people, 3 boats, and a jet ski. It is an easy 60 foot walk to the water on a concrete walkway. The boat ramp is 1 mile from the house. Great views, calm cove, quite neighbors.

Perfect vacation in the perfect setting

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful home in a wonderful deep cove. We loved the screened-in back deck with a TV and the dock was amazing. The home is welcoming, clean and fully stocked with everything needed to cook a big meal. The owner was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this property!

Wonderful location for Thanksgiving getaway

  • 5 of 5

Nine of us gathered for a family Thanksgiving and the Carolina/Clemson football weekend. The house is big enough to accommodate nine adults with plenty of space to spread out. Three full bathrooms meant little to no waiting. Beds were comfy. The kitchen is stocked well and we made a full Thanksgiving feast without difficulty. Everyone appreciated the Wi-Fi connection and all the TVs! The canoe was a fun extra too since the weather was warm enough to enjoy some time on the lake. A couple of points: if you are using this house as a base for activities at Clemson U, it's approximately a 40 minute drive. This house probably gets most use during the summer. We suspect that it hadn't been used in awhile before we arrived. It was clean, but fairly dusty. Neither of these issues were a deal breaker for us and we'd definitely recommend the place and rent again.

The kids enjoyed swimming at the dock and the games in downstairs. The house had everything we needed to make for great week playing at the lake. Jack was very responsive to any questions I had. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Lake House on Lake Hartwell

  • 5 of 5

This perfect lake house is in a quiet, deep cove on Lake Hartwell. It is close to I-85 and the city of Lavonia, in Gumlog. The lake is amazing and the walk from the dock up to the house is not too steep or long. The kitchen is well equipped with a nice inside table and screened in area to enjoy your meals. The air conditioning kept the house nice and cool in the middle of summer. The three bathrooms and four bedrooms are large and comfortable. An air hockey table and foosball table are fun for all. We will certainly rent this house in the future! You will enjoy this lake house!

Great place to rest and relax!!

  • 4 of 5

What a wonderful week we spent at this lovely home located in a quiet cove on Lake Hartwell. There was ample room for the six of us and it is hard to say which was our favorite hangout...the screened in back porch or the covered boat dock. The temperatures were perfect the entire week for sitting on the porch and reading, playing games, rigging fishing lines, watching some television and just catching up with one another. We brought our small fishing boat and it was so easy getting in and out of with the great dock. Many times we just cast our lines right off the dock because there were many fish jumping near the shore. The kitchen was stocked with just about everything you need with things you wouldn't normally expect in a rental home...a griddle and crockpot! The beds were all so comfortable and we slept soundly. The driveway was a challenge getting our boat up the hill. A four wheel drive has no problem pulling the hill but we didn't have one. Other than that we had a memorable week with three generations spending quality time together. We cooked all of our meals except one where we ate at the Gumlog Barbecue and Fish Camp. We had a 45 minute wait but it was definitely worth it and it is just minutes from the house. Jack was always available to answer and solve any questions we had. We recommend this place if you want a quiet and relaxing time away from the busyness of life.
