A quiet bedroom with a queen size bed is located on the second floor w/ full bath.

Coastal charm and comfort in convenient location

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect place for us to stay while we attended a conference at nearby Duke Marine Lab and Maritime Museum. Very roomy and well designed two-story cottage within steps of the waterfront and a dock to soak in the beautiful marine vista and wildlife.... including ponies! We liked the quieter end of Beaufort location and are used to walking long distances but some may need to drive or bike to restaurants in town. Our only regret is that we didn't get to stay longer!

Great location to enjoy Beaufort

  • 5 of 5

Our only regret about our stay was that we only came for four nights. The cottage was convenient to the shopping and dining on Front Street (only a seven minute bike ride) and to Taylor's Creek. We were able to launch our kayaks from the owner's dock across the street although you need to be strong enough to raise and lower a kayak down to the floating dock. The public boat landing is close by too. This was such a beautiful place to kayak, we hope to go back for a full week next time. The owner, Virginia, was always available if we needed something.

Cute and Cozy

  • 5 of 5

This little cottage is tucked away, off the beaten path but very close to the waterfront. We were in town for a wedding at the Boathouse, which was right down the street. The cottage is very comfortable and well appointed. Virginia is very welcoming, she makes you feel right at home. Although she was out of town herself, she was always available via phone or text message if we had any questions. I must admit we didn't explore the town much, we were just content to hang out on the front porch in our own little oasis of trees, flowers, squirrels and birds! It was just so peaceful and relaxing! This little cottage is the best kept secret in Beaufort!

Pirate Weekend

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit and it was just as wonderful as the first. Virginia is a sweetheart to rent from. My husband enjoyed fishing from the dock every afternoon. The location is so close to downtown just a short drive and away from the crowds. We are definitely looking forward to returning next year.

Virginia & Bob lived in the Washington, DC area for many years. In 1994 they moved to Atlantic Beach as they both love the sun, sand and ocean.

Two years later they purchased a piece of land in Beaufort located on Front Street. The property included a deep water dock on Taylors Creek. The property also included a derelict one bedroom cottage, a barn and enough land to build a house. After building the family home, Virginia & Bob moved to Beaufort. The cottage was then beautifully renovated with an eye to comfort. Family, friends, and friends of friends have stayed at the cottage. Two couples have stayed at the cottage for their honeymoon. It is a great retreat from everyday life for those who come. The family has decided it is now time to offer the cottage to others so that they may find the wonderful experiences available in this area.

Beaufort By the Sea is a magic village. Come on down and watch the banker ponies run free on the islands that protect where we live and entices visitors to explore. Sunset sailing and early morning dolphin watch by boat are services offered right down the street.
